A huge number of them wouldn't admit Messi is the best ever and not CR7 (who is in his own right a football legend, a titan). As far as trophies though, he's won everything he can win except a WC, and it'd be petty to not see him as the best ever JUST because of that. Worst of all is even if he hasn't won it, he still got to a final and has won Player of the Tournament in every single competition he's every played in including the WC. I guarantee you though that even if Messi somehow did win the WC in Qatar, there'd still be people who deny him being the greatest ever. Emotions get in the way. I think Messi still has the most team trophies ever won by any single player anyway (aside from Dani Alves...but nobody calls him the GOAT because team trophies are not the responsibility of a single player). I think he also has the most individual trophies ever including Ballon D'Or and Golden Boot. There's absolutely no argument against Messi being the GOAT, at this point anyone denying it either doesn't understand the importance of being this versatile and being so complete, or is like I said are letting their emotions get in their way. And consider that we aren't even discussing the tactical advantages Messi gives his teams, which are the things most fans don't see...meaning off the ball movement, meaning how many people they dedicate to marking a specific player, opening up spaces for others, meaning heat maps and how that moves opposing players around, and how many zones of the pitch he can influence...there's no one that has ever matched him at all that either.
