Could you let me know if you're requesting an SDK installation process? You install SDK in a location of your choice. The installer will install at c:\MSFS SDK unless you direct the installer to another location. If you are using SDK for the first time, I recommend this video first. your tutorials on building an airport are brilliant. I have just finished video 1 and now have a working runway with nice flat grass around it. can't wait to get onto this video and create taxiways. thank you very much
@@patriotsix5880 I will do.. the only issue , well its not really an issue but i notice it. is that I feel the altitude I put in the project for the airport may be a bit high as the airport looks like its sitting on a bit of a hill....I need to work out how to lower the whole thing without starting again.
@@kevinberlyn8060 Knowing the correct TZDE for flight planning is helpful, but it will be OK outside of that. I made corrections today for one of the followers in the Patriot Six Facebook group. The very same problem. If you're comfortable with making the change, I'll let you know how. You can search the web and find the altitude of the location. Make a copy of the project. The complete scenery folder. With File Explorer, go to Package Sources. Open Then Scenery. Open The following folder should be the Airport's name. Open and see a Scenery Folder. Open. Open the XML inside the Scenery Folder with a Text Editor. Find the line for the Airport. You will see the name, the Ident, The Lat, The Long, other information, and then the Altitude [Alt] Manually edit the altitude and save the XML. Reload the project in Developer Mode, save, and rebuild the package. If something goes wrong, you will have the backup copy.
@@patriotsix5880 thanks for that. .I ended up starting again as i wanted to do to many changes...I am sure I am not the first person to go over and over again till I get it right.... your videos have been a great asset..... I have an airport designed , taxiways working. ATC added and working slowly on the buildings. the airport is operational however. I am not sure what to do the get A.I. planes to take off and land. maybe I have missed something. . planes do spawn when load it up they just don't seem to do anything. I can call up ATC and it does direct me to rhe relevant taxiway, parking bay as well as the relevant runway. so I am sure that area is not the issue. I just don't get visitors to my airport.
@@kevinberlyn8060 You are not the first. I do this from time to time myself. As time passes and our experience grows., we learn new things, and suddenly our earlier creations are less appealing. It is normal. In regards to the AI traffic, I don't know. I do not use the MSFS AI traffic. I use two traffic mods and am almost exclusively at International Airports.
@patriot six At about 17:47 you are creating a tarmac using a polygon and then filling it in using the material functionality. I have tried multiple times to do this and for some reason it doesn't work. I've read someposts that other people are having the same problem and they think it might be SDK. Are you still able to do this and if so, any idea why the concrete and other material wouldn't be filling in / showing up?
Hello Mike. I actually made a polygon today and filled in the area with concrete in another location with no trouble at all. So, something is missing in the technique. I can't show you a picture in RU-vid chat but I can make some suggestions. You have to select the material and drag the material over to the material section of the properties window. I may have made this move a little quick for you to notice. Try looking again and see if you see what I am doing. If that does not help, well, I am limited in what I can do on RU-vid. Words only. However, I do have a Facebook community with a lot of helpful people if you are interested. At least there, we can share images. Hi Christopher. Thanks for watching. I have never used FSX, so I have no frame of reference for how the scenery works. I guess you can't, but you may want to research.
