I live in a small town with woods close by. When i'm out there the deer only here me if i talk or run, until i'm very close, about 20-40m before they run. So yes I agree.

blake b the 270 has the same knock down power as most of the 30 cals. I know this s game but you would never aim for the spine it is too small of a target. You aim just behind the shoulder to hit the major organs for a guaranteed kill.

ive played for like 4 hours and im struggling with finding the things ive killed and sometimes to even find animals or see them. do u have any tips to help me cos im seeing you kill things n u run there and find it easy but for me theres times where they jus vanish but the blood spots say high bleed rate or vital organ hit and i cant find the animal

I remember way back in the day like 2017 before many dlc drops, i just took the .243 onto hirschfelden and killed herds of female roe deer lol. They keep coming back to your call so easy. I started on hirschfelden. I never knew the glory of layton until i was level 22! Lol the game would have been so much easier hunting things like coyotes, blacktail, whitetail, etc.

I played for one day and got 2 achievements that I think ur supposed to get later on 😅 Scarecrow- scare 1000 animals, it’s a hidden trophy. And Persistence is futile- track the same animal 200 times, I got this abt a 1/4 of the way thru of tracking the exact same bear for 2 and a half real hours straight. The dumbest part is I never even caught it.🤦‍♂️ god I was stupid, still am tho.

I just saw that I already had a .270 rifle as an event gift. Equipped it, first shot was an instakill on a bear. Wish I would've seen that I had that rifle earlier, always struggled shooting bears and moose :D

enjoying your videos, however i try to get a feel on how patient i need to be in my game and when you cut the video just to the point where your action happen it dont get the feel how long you actually played. for example with the bunnies on the watch tower. Im glad they updated game. The current vital organ hit, 2shots or less, proper ammo, trophy organs intact (essentially discouraging/punishing headshots) is much better than the previous quick kill & consecutive harvest nonsense. There is a quick kill bonus with updated scoring but thankfully a sensible lung/dbl lung shot gives that bonus instead of going for spine shot bs

The one thing I don't like about this game is how the game mechanics lead you to use spine shots for quick kills, which is kinda unethical in real life. It wouldn't instantly kill an animal but only make is flop around with its front legs on the ground.

Brand new player here. Good videos! Educational, concise, and devoid of filler. Though I think I like my early game rabbit strategy better than you. I sneak right up on those sobs with a .45 with 410 shells in and get the whole bonus. Half the time the others stick around. But I know you are going for rifle score.

They changed spine shots. You now have to hit the spinal cord rather than just the vertebrae.

Great tutorial thanks! You talk about ranges, how you approach, that some animals escape and you dont see others. That is all really great to hear as a beginner. This is all great! Now I notice this is 2 years old, do spine shots still insta-kill? And if you cant get the spine, where on the side do you go for? Double lung?

If you want the game to be harder and not land a kill every 5 mins, increase the foliage. Don't put the game on low settings, it's basically a soft cheat in this kind of game lol 9:40

Flinter, why do you never take neck shots on animals facing you directly or directly opposite of you. I personally find it easier than broadside spine shots and even with .243 soft point bullets you can immediately down large game.

Usually it's just riskier, animals can move their heads and dodge it, if you hit too high and catch the jaw a lot of times there isn't enough penetration to get to the neck. I do it though, I think it was last vid in the beginner series on a fleeing doe

As a beginner, just shoot everything you see. Look for warning calls and then start being cautious with your binoculars out. Once you see the animal(s) spot them, and take your shot. Spine shots aren't as effective anymore, so maybe go for the lungs or heart. Keep grinding out animals and you can start getting better ammo and weapons, and that is where this game gets really fun!

Yea, that's very normal when you are beginner for this game. You need to hang on to it, I almost gave it up when I was your situation. No one said you can't run, if you ran, animals might be scared and they warmed you. Follow the warm sound you will find footprints, or you stay right here to wait them to show up, something like that leads you to animal. Be calm when you saw the animals, there's always another one, so don't be upset if you missed one. when you got the money, just buy good rifle, you will earn more no matter how much you spend. Oh, learn how to chase blood, that is very important for this game, unless you had very good gun skills, most of the animals you shot wouldn't be dead for just one shot, you need to find them by chasing the blood

So i know you can get the vital organ hit bonus but does the quick kill give a bigger bonus then the vital organ hit? I got a vital organ hit on a bull moose today and 0 on the quick kill lol and that fu**er was 12 points off a diamond!!! Would i have gotten diamond if i hit the spine instead?

@@doomslayer3036 dont do that. Instead go near water,lakes,rivers, ect. and oftently you will see herds of either moose, elk, and different deer. Aswell as ducks and rabbits. For bears you have to go more inland.

It is easy if you can see witch level the deer is. I can't see it with my binoculair, so how can I make it work on a standard binoculair.

There is fish. If you glitch at Layton lakes around water you might be able to see perch or bluegill or something like that.

Should have gotten the pistol first to get the reddot then use the 20gage shotgun with birdshot [cheap rounds] killing rabbits and ducks and running around getting all the outposts. Rabbits are not very much xp, but there are more of them... same with the ducks. Then switch to the slugs 20gage and kill the deer and elk.. You would be level 12 or 15 already... and don't bother gathering up the NEED ZONES... as you should be killing everything anyways shutting off the need zones as you go and finding new ones.... then switch 12gage shotgun Slugs and kill the moosies… Then switch to the bow. You would actually be surprised how fast it goes this way. You just cannot do this on MEDVED.... no ducks or rabbits yet. Start over and try it.

There is no need to heart shot a Moose with 243 polymer tip ammo I have killed to moose with them not heart but double lung

So the basics are, the game tells you where to go. It lights up the target for you. So where's the reality or fun in that ??

I watch this and I still can get passed 243 but I can in real life it just the games hard for me

dumb question, why not get the duck setups, farm the money and level fast and easy with that, then you can move onto the guns for big animals later. (or snipe with 22 from long range, for rifle and money/xp)
