Revs too, everyone sleeps on revs but the higher your redline the longer you can spend in a lower gear or the shorter your gearing can be to get to the same speed.
I run a 07 fg2 civic si with jdm k24a swope and it's faster then I expected it to be. I've owned 10 civic/crx with all different setups and the jdm k24a seems to just get down na. The 6 speed close ratio gears in my 8th gen si helps make the 240hp I have feel like alot more then it is. Lol have to say this race was great to watch. Was impressed how well it pulled away. 👏
Buying my second civic to build this summer. Love those motors. Coming from a mechanic they're some is the best cars to learn to wrench on and be fast for somewhat cheap

Always been a Subaru guy I've got a 2015 sti pearl white 60,000 miles. iag closed deck, built heads/cams, fp black, AMS intake manifold, 1700cc injector dynamics, double walbro 450's with radium hangar, hobbs switch, ets front mount with all titanium piping, Perrin elh, grimmspeed catless dp, invidia r300, cobb flex fuel, easy 600hp on the e70 tune. Can go rotated and throw a real turbo on this thing and pull 700+ out of this set up when done right. But lately I've been jealous of these Civics I would love to do a N/A built motor with sequential trans and super light weight or go awd that would be so fun
My audi wagon is around 300 hp. Doesn't seem like alot but in a little hatchback it flies. Stock motor with turbo upgrade downpipe upgrade injectors and a tune. Thats it. Need better breaks though. Had some close calls.
I’m a Honda guy at heart , even though I own an fbo GTR and my wife drives an f80 m3 . The problem with the Honda scene is the fast hooptie image , at the end of the day win or lose that Lexus rcf is still going to be a status whip , and can leave that race and attract a gang of broads right after that race 😂 . This is what I’ve learned over the years of growing up , but for real that vtec never gets old , my daily driver is an fa5 si 😊 .
So is a K24 like an LS-sized 4 cylinder? Like if you took the V8, pistons and all, melted it down into a malleable cube, and then shaped it into a 4 cylinder, not a single bit of metal wasted. Basically is the k24 to 4 cylinders what an aircraft carrier is to a fishing boat?
I'm all a v-8 guy! Big time, but lately I've been wanting a banging lil 4banger like this.. I want an integral bad! The round headlights model.. Not the hatch either. Or a wrx! . But since the idiots in office, cars and home prices went uuuppppp! Used cars with v-8 with up to 80k miles are asking around 30k for one.. It's pathetic! Seen a mustang v-8 with 118k miles, they asking 32k for it.... 🙄😒
Right, unfortunately its kinda spendy to K a miata. Poor mans K is the $3-400 2.5 ford/mazda engine, add cams, intake, header, tune and you're at 210whp for $1,500.

It ain't about the mods sometimes, sometimes its about the tune to be able to whip out good acceleration and torque, and I mean in a drag race sometimes that's all takes, cause you're engine is gonna top out at something lower than you can get if you tune it for top speed
People love to hate on Hondas when really the K series is the 4 CYL LS it’s time to put respect on its name this motor is the best bang for your buck. (4 CYL) and it’s reliable simple set ups with no much to make easy power while making a excellent sleeper I love all 3 of my Ks🔥
Hmm... I've seen a race between DC5 Type R (K24 FBO + cams), 280 hp (crank I suppose), starting from 45 mph, got gapped by BMW 440i GranCoupe B58 on stock map. That honda though, 13.5s/402m.
If the Honda is around 2200lbs, it’s power to weight ratio is .123. The Lexus rcf is 3900lb curb weight with power to weight ratio of .128 Just some numbers.
The 500 hp in the Lexus RCF has always punched way below its weight, but that car is more famous for the drive experience. Even lower horsepower cars like the BMW M2 40 I with 380 hp and the Camaro SS with 450 hp have been able to Easily out pace… Lexus
I cant wait for my maxima vq swapped spec v to be finished. Im doing a cookie cutter setup that makes 400 450hp depending on pump gas or e85. Or go biggest cams that do 500 to 550 between e85 and meth injection. In a sentra spec v that weighs 200lbs more than a miata on 275s.
