A short film written, shot, and edited in 48 hours for the 48 Hour Film Project in Portland Oregon. Each team was given a genre,
character, line of dialog, and prop.
Character: Mac or Meg McGill, Explorer
Prop - a wig
Line of Dialog - Looks like you're in over your head.
Genre - Dark Comedy
Also won Best Actor and Best Writing. Portland Film Project 2011
Won Best Narrative Salem Film Festival 2011

Even when a man is dead and is reduced to garbage, another man might feel the need to connect with him. That's how we humans are. We always have the urge/desire to connect - even if the person we're connecting to is a total stranger. That's what makes us human. Even Tasha connected with the guy by being a patient listener. This film has restored my faith in humanity :)

Wow, that's a great film! My daughter participated in the 2012 challenge in New Orleans. It's neat seeing all the different concepts and creations that you all come up with.

This is great. Loved it from start to finish. I've had a dabble myself with 48HP's and have a waaaay to go yet to get to this standard. Great job!

LOVED IT! Beautiful piece of artwork, the actor is an absolute genius.....maybe i am over excited, but truly i loved this piece of work. Inspired me. Hopefully one day i will be able to achieve such cinematography. Thank you for this.

It was shot one two panasonic hvx 200's and a Canon Dslr. sound was recorded with a lapel mic and over head boom mic. Recording to a Sony HXR-NX5U i believe. Any recording done with strictly DSLR's should have external recording. The h4n is a great starting mic. Thanks for the awesome comment, glad you liked it. Share and thumbs up! thanks

Wow, this was really good :) It made me smile :) May I ask you one question? I guess it was recorded with a DSLR, wasn't it? What microphone did you use and what was the setup? Because I use Rode NTG-2 plugged directly to my 60D using Magic Lantern and the sound isn't so clear and I can hear a hiss. Could you tell me what is your setup, please? Thank you, Tom :)

damn, what mic did you use? or did you foley/post-audio for a lot of the SFX?

I ran sound on this. I used a Sennheiser mke 600 shotgun mic for most of it, as well as a wireless lapel. I picked up natural sound, sometimes while not filming scenes, to be edited in after. (Like the grocery card wheels)
