The physics of recoil are that a given load (cartridge) fired out of two guns of equal weight will recoil the same. The difference is “felt” recoil. The gas system and the recoil reduction system on the Beretta spread the recoil impulse over a longer time period (milliseconds) , so it feels like it recoils less. A proper fitting gun also helps with felt recoil. Beretta builds a fine gun, and sporting clays is a great game. Please include your son in the videos, any rude jerks will get bombarded by your followers, until you can get to them.

You folks are special, Definitely have Hunter in your videos. You have said he is non verbal, is that around you folks too? I have been fortunate enough to be able to work with different special needs children and their families thru school systems and Head Start and have been neighbors with Autistic children, one is 26 and his father told me his son calls me BIG HAT . That's when I asked him to introduce me to him. We talk a lot over the fence and he sometimes comes to my shop. It's a very slow conversation but we manage and shake hands when he has to go back to work. I am glad I HAVE TIME to stop and smell the roses and see a smile on a face. Be PROUD, I am and I know you need to protect the family too. Anything we can do to help with Hunter we would be happy to do. Your video was very informative today. Love the way that shock system toned down the recoil. I felt sorry for Melissa when she fired the 870, my shoulder went into spasms . I'm glad she went downstairs to take care of it ;-) Thanks for sharing and put more of the family in too.

I have yet to see Hunter, but my nephew is non verbal autistic as well. Thanks for sharing. I think understanding is key , and it may be scary, or make us nervous for their sake, but the more people see, the more they will understand. I think it's great for people to see you and your family having fun together. Enjoy life, find a reason to smile. God bless you and your entire family. Oh yeah, that shotgun is pretty sweet too!

That's what I love about this channel, you guys upload all kinds of awesome video's about family, equipment, working in the woods getting firewood, target shooting, as well as sharing your family vacations. Also, that's really wonderful Hunter will be making more appearances in future video's! His Charlie Brown outfit is pretty cool, and you're never too old for Charlie Brown and Snoopy!

You had mentioned Hunter before and I had hoped to see him enjoy more time with "us" but would never ask you to make such a personal decision on my account. Was delighted to see the Facebook post with him. If it doesn't rock his routine, I think the 99%plus will feel blessed to share. We're on Team Hunter. The blue is not overwhelming and doesn't change how it shoots or feels. Just have to get used to it.

Shooting clays is something I really enjoy but unfortunately don’t get to do it nearly as often as I’d like. N just my 2 cents Mike which is only worth maybe 1.5 cents, as far as bringing Hunter into your videos, I think it’s a GREAT idea!!!!! I for one love to watch not just you but enjoy watching the family and I know there’s crazy’s and well....... assholes to be blunt; but don’t let that stop you from having him involved in your videos, that’s your son n be proud to show him off!!!! I get why you feel that way n I’d most likely feel the same way but I think you’ve brought together a pretty cool like minded community that enjoys the videos as well as the interaction so I’d say bring him in the spotlight n stand proud!!! idk if he enjoys watching your videos but if he does then I’d bet he’d get a kick outta seeing himself on some videos. The secret to great shooting for shotguns is finding / or adjusting a gun that pulls up naturally and places your line of sight level with the barrel. In other words the top of the barrel should be perfectly flat and the bead should be centered and on target. I had a Benelli that I could never hit anything with consistently until and old timer gave me a shim set for that gun. The shims fit between the receiver and the butt stock and effectively changed the angle and or height of the the butt stock which made all the difference in the world! Now after a little experimentation of which shims worked best there aren't hardly any ducks or geese that get by me!

This is the first time I have ever commented on a RU-vid video but felt compelled in this case. As the father of a special needs child, I encourage you to include Hunter the same as the rest. Some people look at these people as a burden or different when in fact they are a blessing. My daughter has taught me more about life than anything else. I have subscribed to your channel since I starting looking at firewood and using wood to help heat my home but I enjoy the family atmosphere and love your land. I visit Bakerstown several times a year from my home in NH and I love that whole area. Best wishes and God Bless

It sure looks like a great shotgun, Melissa knows her way around firearms, shooting and safety, I noticed every time she was done shooting she pointed that muzzle toward the ground, she also is a pretty good shot.

A.) Awesome choice on the shotgun. I've had an A400 since they first came out and wouldn't part with it for anything. I also have that same pigeon thrower at our Cabin and we shoot clays there quite a bit. B). The A400 fit Melissa much better than the 870. With the 870 the stock was planted only about half way up her shoulder....which is definitely gonna ramp up the pain factor, especially after about 50 shots. The A400 was planted much higher on her shoulder, where it should be. C.) Stance.... Melissa's stance for straight away shots like you were shooting is fine, but if you start shooting crossing targets, she's likely gonna have poorer results. I know if will feel awkward, but have her try standing more upright with her weight out over her leading foot and her arms out to the sides a little more (like chicken wings). It will help immensely with crossing targets.....if she can get used to it. D.) Definitely don't hesitate to put anybody you want on your channel....especially if it's family. I'm confident your subscriber community will probably "take care of business" before you even get the chance should there be any nonsense going on in the comments.

Nice looking gun. My suggestion is kinda the same I suggest for running equipment... "seat time", or in this situation more time shooting. You want to get that feeling when you are shooting, everything comes natural. You don't have to think about it. Don't be afraid to try different stances, too. You will find something that will really clicks with you. I have an old Winchester pump that I've had since I was a teen, and it's my favorite shotgun... It just fits me.

Just bought a A400 12 ga, have not shot it yet. Have a A400 in 28 ga and it shoots like a.dream. thanks for the video.

Great to see you both having some fun. I know you enjoy all the other things you do, but it's not the same kind of fun. I enjoy my Brownings, but that Beretta recoil system seems to be the bomb. As to your son; if he enjoys being in the vids, then I say go for it and have fun (as with all your family). There's enough of your fans who enjoy your wholesome family activities to bury any idiots who show up. I don't know how all this stuff works, but can't you just delete any garbage stuff that gets posted? I know it might be more work to monitor everything, but most of your fans would enjoy seeing you having fun with your whole family. Keep up the good work ... and play!

Another great video Morgans! My wife bought the same gun but without the blue this year for trap season. She's 5'1" and doesn't weigh much more than the gun but she has no problem shooting 100 rounds of bird-shot with it on trap night. Before that, she used my Mossberg 500 and after 25 rounds, would have a nasty bruise and less than a smile on her face. As far as Hunter(or any others) on the channel, please have him on as much as he feels comfortable with. Its great to see him and the rest of the family! Don't worry about the negative people on here, most of your viewers will put them in their place before you ever see their stupid comments!

Looks like a very fine shotgun and a big step up from the Remington. Good shooting on the clays. Where I have the most problem is leading them, clays thrown from the side. Looking forward to meeting Hunter. I have a grandson with the same name. Only the very few extremely immature will make inappropriate comments.

My name is Bill I'm from Terre Haute Indiana. I only have one thing to say about folks out here in this sometimes not so friendly world. Regardless of who we are. In my eyes every single human being has a disability of some sort large or small. Our Lord almighty put every man, woman n child on the face of this earth for a purpose. I personally believe that it is up to each & every human being to take what we are dealt with then continue through our own lives to make the very best of ourselves. My daughter Jennifer opened my eyes several years ago. When she was in Jr. High school. She was an aid helper for the disabled and handicapped in the school she attended. I've been very opened minded about about this sometimes not so pleasant conversation between folks. Like you & her wife Melissa has said . Some folks are just not happy unless they are try to bringing down folks around them. Not good. Not good at all. I'm 51 yrs old soon to be 52 in March. I take off my hat & bow to you and your family for all of yer trials and airors you have indowered. As far as Hunter goes. All I can say is. Young man you go guy. I'm so proud of you and your family. As much as I love my Rem 870, it can't hold a candle to that Beretta. A 'suggestion' for the Mrs.....a bit more 'vertical' stance will improve aiming/ tracking adjustment ability.

The blue receiver is very "sporting clays-ish" SC shooters really like stylish guns. I shoot SC three times/week, using basically two different guns...an O/U for most shooting and a Browning B2000 gas auto with a customized barrel (shortened to 25", choke tubes installed, ported and fiber optic sight) I prefer the O/U in most case because of the ability to have two chokes. The auto is my primary skeet gun (no need for two chokes in skeet). When using an auto in sporting clays and presented with two (true pair or report double) targets that would require two different chokes normally, choose the tube appropriate for the CLOSEST target OR what you determine to be the easiest target. Make sure you get THAT one. If you are going to miss a target for lack of proper choke tube, don't miss the easy one. Also, do not be shy about changing your choke tube. The other shooters can wait a few seconds. No one will care. These are NOT trap shooters.

I don't like semi-autos for shooting clays. Prefer pumps or break action / over-under. The reason? I don't like to bend down to pick up my hull after each shot. I like semi-auto for self-defense and hunting. I'm pretty good with my Winchester SXP, fits me well. It seems to mitigate recoil somehow pretty well, too.

That is one nice gun. I saw it when I was looking for a gun for trap, but I don’t recall the price. What’s the MSRP on it? I ended up going with a Winchester Super X Pump, but I did catch my dad looking at the Beretta and I think after going through a couple boxes of shells with me, I think he wants to get in on it too. I’m nowhere near 3 for 3 yet, in fact I think I got two out of fifty clays the first time I tried, but I’ll get there. I love the proper demonstration of gun safety in this video, always point it at the ground or the sky. Enjoy the new Beretta guys!

Pretty cool show to check out if you enjoy hunting. Besides the guy has some awesome cooking tips for wild game too. Nice work!

My wife has MS and has been in a wheelchair since 95 and we have dealt with disrespectful people before. I won't get into details on how I resolved the situation but lets just say they will never be part of our lives. Great video!

First regarding your son. Please include him just as much as you include the rest of your beautiful family. He's a part of you and Melissa and part of your story. I realize that you are wanting to protect him (and pretty much yourself and Melissa) from some hateful comments that might happen, but you're better than that. By far this community that you have built here fully supports you and your family in every way. It should go without saying that you and your entire family are always welcome to our 35 acres any time that you happen to be in North Florida. I tip my hat to you and Melissa for accepting, loving and raising a child with his "disability", and I'm sure that you both love him unconditionally just like you love each other and the rest of your children. As far as skeet shooting, I've never been good at it. I can shoot a golf ball and a launch it from 10 yards with my .45 ACP pistol and also hit a propane tank at 200+ yards (believe it or not). I'm also pretty good with my shot gun, but those dang clay pigeons are just too fast and too small for me.

I have been an arborist since the '80s, and have a background in forestry also. So I enjoy your videos at face value, also for what I can draw out of them. I am no great shot but I enjoy what you are showing me. And part of the time I am also checking out your forest, in the background. It is wonderful to have a likeminded wife to share things with. After 17 years as a widower I now have that again. And in a similar vein, I look forward to meeting Hunter. Family is one of God's great gifts.

Just some clarification, by no means criticism. What you demonstrated would be more in line with "Trap Shooting", whereas Sporting Clays, would incorporate the use of "High House" "Low House" and "Rabbit", etc. stations. Also in "Trap Shooting" shotguns use "full" chokes, whereas Sporting Clay shotguns use more open chokes, the likes of the one you're using. Either sport is fun and enjoyable. As far as suggestions for shooting in your "Back Forty": First and foremost you should be using both ear and eye protection. Second, since you're doing this just for fun, you can try holding the shotgun by your side, then after calling "pull" mount/shoulder the shotgun. Using this method would simulate hunting "upland game" and help improve your shooting skills. On the other hand: If you intend to be more serious about the sport of "Trap Shooting" , then use the following method to improve your "form": Stand with your body at a 45% angle to the target, feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, then with finger off the trigger, mount the shotgun to your shoulder and place your cheek on comb of stock (while pointing shotgun at approx. 45% above level), once locked into that position, lower shotgun to slightly above level. Then rotate from the waist left to right (to loosen up). Once comfortable, point the shotgun at the anticipated direction of the target. Then, place finger lightly on the trigger. Now you're ready to call "PULL". Finally track the "clay/bird" by rotating from the hips, then when the "sight picture" seems correct pull the trigger and follow through the target. Sorry for the long-winded dissertation, but you ask for suggestions. LOL

I've had this gun for 4 years and it is BY FAR the best Clays gun out there! If you want to win an event this will give the advantage as it definitely has the reach on those hard to read shots. Great balance and the Kick Off recoil pad is AWESOME!!! My only other choice is my 20g Browning Synergy on a friendly course!
