@@Soridormu I mean I don't think thats really a spoiler but it's removed.. I thought the one I was commenting on was dismissive of Dalarans importance so I reacted. Oh well, it's out now /shrug
why didn't they make Dalaran the main city? It would have fitted perfectly, lorewise and for the aesthetics. Maybe they will in Midnight, because Silvermoon is reserved for the Horde
Its videos like these that keep my interest in the game from fading completely. Havent played since shadowlands but I love the lore and story of the world so these videos help.
O boy, I can't wait to do laps around Dalaran again in the next expansion. Really love this city, and that its going to be our hub again just means this is gonna be yet another great expansion!
Having studied in Dalaran since before the Burning Legion showed up, I've been well aquatinted with my city and my mentor, Khadgar. He's the best of us, to be sure. I've been away for a time, helping the dragons, but I've come home, opened the door, dusted the furniture, and put my feet up with a big tome borrowed from that old wizard's favorite library. I'm sure we'll soon be back to business as usual after the dragon's going home and we'll get to study thing Khadgar has discovered.
It amuses me and kills my soul at the same time every time Bellular does a lore video. Yes, I appreciate the content. No, I don't like the fact that you guys put more effort into each lore video that entire the Blizz narrative team does per expansion.
So you're telling me that the Kirin Tor found out Daval Prestor was Deathwing, but then when Katrana Prestor showed up in Stormwind they didn't think it was suspicious? Surely they heard about her.
This was a nice vid, one thing that could be added is the source in quest lines for people who want to play through the stories. For example, the Divine Bell shenanigans with Garrosh after the Theramore bombing is all in the "Landfall" campaign in MoP.
The role of factions for lore/PvP/possibly language is fine and well, though it is entirely antiquated for PvE/trade/etc. Even Everquest from the start had no barrier on those core aspects, and even with Common Tongue there were "language parties" to learn other languages ^^
Hopefully nothing bad happens ever to best city Dalaran. It has so many great and powerful foes locked away in its jail... Dont want them to all go free.
It’s such a bummer that the story from Warcraft 123 and vanilla is so much better than anything. They’ve ever done after it and we didn’t get to play much of that in the actual MMO.
This is a REALLY SMALL nitpick and I kinda feel like a fool for even typing this, but as someone who avoids the Human race in WoW it was slightly off-putting how you used the term "we" when referring to them. Anyways awesome vid appreciate all the effort you put in!
serioualy the mana bomb in cata and then mop trying to force the horde/alliance conflicts with garosh and trying to make the horde the "bad guys" was some of the worst writing we had in the game, then it got worse by having silvanas be the bad guy and hoping people would ignore the bad writing because "silvanas is hot so its ok to be evil" I hope we never have to deal with that bs again and blizzard have leaned their lesson
Yes, this. This is why I've always hated MoP despite everyone claiming it is "the best expansion ever". I've never been able to put it into words, but its exactly this. Instead of an interesting villain, they made an entire faction of players "be the bad guys" and there was nothing you could do about it. If you were Horde, you were the bad guys, no question. And then, when they realized they screwed up, they were like "Oh... uhh... since it was all Garrosh, and the player character *definitely didn't help him out at all, nope*, we'll make him the big bad evil guy." And just... no... it doesn't work like that at all. It didn't help that, despite the Horde having helped the Alliance so much over the years, the moment the Alliance encounters the Horde, they just jump in and start killing each other. No attempt being made, at all, to try and work together and figure out the problem. Nope, Daddy Varian just went "My child is there, kill everyone until you find him." Yes, the Horde was doing bad stuff, but the Alliance was doing no better. Alliance and Horde were fighting for the sake of "Alliance and Horde are fighting" despite literally half of the Horde being against Garrosh. They could have had such a neat plot where the Alliance and the Garrosh defectors worked together against Garrosh. But, instead, "Horde is all bad" despite leaders of races going "Hey, Garrosh is evil, man. We should do something about that." Vol'jin? Nope. Sylvanas? (Well, she was already evil, her being evil later made perfect sense) Nope. The Goblins? Nope (and don't even get me started on "Gallywix literally enslaved and murdered hundreds of his own kind, but Thrall decided "he's an okay leader.") Blood Elves? The very people that escaped the Alliance because they were literally killing their people? Nah, why would they do anything? It was so freaking stupid.
I feel like if you just slow down a little bit, then some of these story beats would have more time to sync in and it would have a deeper impact on the whole delivery. because some of these things that you’re just glancing over in a couple quick sentences are very deep and thought-provoking but by the time I’m wrapping my brain around a certain point you’ve already made two or three other points so I have to rewind the video and relisten over and over.
It's crazy how Jaina ethnically cleansed an entire city of particular race based on what a small group of that race did. And then Blizz plays her as a good guy.
Damn could of warned of spoilers just went into this curious what you had to say about dalaran I didnt need to know it gets destroyed... Thanks I guess
dalaran is just rubish now, they will have to rebuild a new city from the ground. I think Blizz is preparing all the cities for housing, and this was another step.
