We spent a few unforgettable months with our many new friends in New Zealand, camping and partying at Svet and Dara’s house in Mangawhai. Fata Morgana remained moored much of the time in Mangawhai Heads, where the weather was not always perfect… And we try out the old life raft.
****

A bird catching an octopus. That's something you don't see every day. Good idea to let her swing in a contrary wind. Good ol Ivo the Great.

You guys rock! Great job gutting the fish, it looked yummy, what is the best fish you have tasted on your trip so far?

It might be impolite to ask a question like this but, being me, I'll ask anyways, so thanks in advance. If you guys had to start all over today and had to come up with a certain amount of money before going out sailing what would the lowest number be and what number would be comfortable?

This is a tough question and hard to reply... Now we know much more about sailing and the places we have been through, about boats and boat maintenance. And we even have a bit of income thanks to Patreon. Our lifestyle is very modest and we could fit in a tiny budget. Money or lack of money has never stopped us to do what we want. But to sail around the world you do need some savings and depending on how long you continue and what is your income along the way it is good to have at least a few thousand dollars, in case something breaks, as it always does (this after everything on board has been installed and the boat has been already prepared for passage and liveaboard.)

A liferaft is suppost to have a slow leak to prevent over pressure from heat. Hope you didn't patch it. Reading instructions always a good thing when your lives depend on knowledge.

No we didn't patch it up...It was a used life raft we found on a wreck, and already damaged. We suspected it's no good and it was time to trow it away, but try it first for fun :) No instructions available :)
