That turned out better than expected lol after you started adding the extra stones and the lines I was like ok. I love it. I was thinking maybe some silver leaf edges but this is way better.
@@ladyblueamb thank you so much! Its amazing the stuff I find around my studio area that I may have forgotten about and it fits perfectly somewhere. I really like how it all came together, too, and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts 😁
Nice, turned out very nice! I was born in Akron. Lived in Ohio half my life. I miss it, my father and elders have all passed now, I moved and I don't think I could ever go back. Too sad. Any who, can't believe this is your first geode! Sweet*
It is a small world!! I am originally from NJ and I wonder sometimes if I could ever go back there myself so I understand what you mean. This is my first freeform geode, but not my first ever - been practicing a little while 😉. Thank you for watching and commenting ☺
This is gorgeous, I love the colors. I've worked with quick coat too, with mixed results. Last time I was using it to attach PVC legs to a geode table I'd made. I poured the quick coat inside the leg and was waiting for the resin to set up a bit before putting it around the outside of the leg, so it would stay put. I stirred the resin, still extremely liquidly, and 30 seconds later it had solidified! I laughed right out loud. But the legs are staying put, so all is good. Again, love this geode, just stunning. And the Posca pens make such a great addition.
Fantastic beautiful piece of art!!.. She's a beauty.. I have watched every video you have on resin.. You have an exceptional eye for color and design.. It's hard to believe this being your first free form, if you wouldn't have mentioned it I doubt anyone would have known.. Again she's a beauty!
Patricia, I am so appreciative that you watch my resin videos!! THANK YOU !! I love doing it and am so glad people enjoy. Thank you for the kind words about this piece.😍☺
I was nervous when I first started too! But with anything, as you do it and watch others, you will be doing it like it's nothing! It's like riding a bike for me now! Have fun!
Awesome! I found myself with heightened anxiety as you were working lol. I know some people do not like the Posca lines but I love them, they add sooo much to a piece.
LOL! Maria, I am sorry for the anxiety, you could probably feel mine as I was hitting that third coat, an hour of working time, wondering if I would ever be done 😂 I really like the lines too - I feel they helps tie sections of color together. Thank you so much for watching =)
As always, thank you so much for watching and commenting my friend!! I will try to do a live premiere again at a better hour for you! Probably the beginning of June ✨😍
Yes yes yes! This is my favorite geode that I've seen. I want to do one like this. You did a good job explaining so I think I can do it . I will not be using quick coat . I don't think I'm ready to try to move that fast! Thanks for the info and inspiration . You Rock!!!
Barbara thank you so much!! They are really really fun. I can see why quick coat would be good for these pieces, but it can really be a challenge! Have fun and let me know how you do
Thank you so much! This quickly became my favorite technique 😀. I appreciate you watching! I'd love to see thew one on your mantle! Is it up on your Instagram?
@@DryerDaysArTsTuDiO Yes it is! I have a vid of it. It's next to the Zed's Dead pic! :D I have another one up of my Septarian freeform geode too! I'm @jofish420 lols same as here. :D
This piece is soooo pretty, Katherine! I love yours and Rebecca's videos, so this whole 'collaboration' thing is a serious thumbs up. :-) I definitely have to try doing one of these free form geodes... (wish me luck. I'm a klutz. Ha!)
It can dull them, it did in this case with my very cheap stones and they also ended up with three layers of resin over them, but they still added some nice texture. Thank you for watching Barbara!!
Very cool. Could you use the clear silicone that comes in a squeeze tube? I believe that is the same material and would be easier for you to squeeze out.
I’m glad you came up in my feed because for some reason I was unsubscribed. You know you’re gifted when you can try something for the first time and it comes out great. Awesome stuff.
Cathrine, I just bought a geode from you. I requested an Ohio shipping address. I am still in Florida for another week. Is it possible for you to hold off sending it for two weeks, Please? Also, would you think about adding a PayPal tip jar, please?
@@DryerDaysArTsTuDiO so you recommend White Pigment instead? I would love cells but not bubbles. Im trying to create ocean waves with a white color, on top of indian ink mixed with resin
Hi, Just wanted to let you know that I did watch this again this morning, and it is gorgeous. You told me last night, what you were using for the mold. I have a few questions, does the silicone caulk have a bad smell and how long did it have to sit before you could use it? Thank you for your help and for sharing your tutorials, you're very talented
Hi Tina! The silicone does have a bit of a smell, I had a window open while I worked and it set. This kinda sets in 30 minutes, So I did one layer, waited 30 , then did another layer. The smell pretty much was gone after it was all set
Wow wow wow wow wow. This is my favourite geode ever!!!! Can i ask you. Do you make the geode flush? I know the edging isnt of course, but the rest of it. Also what did you do with this after? Thank you for your video 💕💕💕
I have this on display in my own house, I didnt want to sell it! It is flat on the back (besides the bigger jems) so its on an easel, or can be propped against the wall too
Hi ! I tried to make a sculpture of resin , because the weather was very cold up to 5°/6 ° c so I waited for 12hrs and then tried to mould it into a bowl but my resin got cracks in it . Although it was quite flexible. Plz help me to find the reason .And plz guide me how thick the layer should be , which can easily come in to the desired shape. Thanks
