Good fun. Quite a while ago I did a 15.9 in a stock AU Wagon , i just changed to tiny 14" wheels which changed the rear ratio and gave it more poke off the line !

you can get 12s from them fairly easy stock just with weight reduction and NOS lol , and yes thes SOHC engine can get 1300+hp with a stock bottom end

16.8 is pretty good considering that in the best case scenario a EF to AU are quoted at 16.1. We all know that it's the diff ratio and first gear of the BTR that lets them down. The barra (NA and standard) will get it into a flat 15 if you have 3.45 diff ratios. AU house's flairlane with T5 and 398rwhp ran a 12.9sec if that's any indication of how far you'll need to push the EF.

Standard the Ef falcon weighs 100-200kgs less then an Au Fairlane …. So at least you got less weight 😂😂😎😎❤️❤️

Manual gearbox with good diff ratio will get the times. Also need good tyres and and a healthy engine etc

Pro tip for the strip, if you line up with another car only roll up to pre stage and wait for them to do the same before rolling any further. Just some strip courtesy for transbraked and boosted cars to build boost.

From Bill ... unfortunately I am still waiting on parts to turn up for my van but otherwise it's still not far from been completed now thankfully... It's only parts for my fuel pump being a diesel for my camper... The whole thing seems crazy because of this pandemic excuse...

Why not ? a turbo E series was never produced and would make too much power to weight , would it even pass getting engineered ? Or am I an idiot haha ?? 👍🏼👍🏼

@@INORBET as a turbo barra was never a factory delivered option in an ef, meaning that this engine swap will require certification. I am confident it would pass getting engineered, provided brakes are upgraded to later model xr6t spec, engine mounts are constructed properly etc. but depends on the engineer. There are lots of barra turbo 90s fords and holdens getting around that are engineered, there is no limit on power to weight, only engine capacity to weight in the national standards for vehicle modification. The historic rego scheme is great and gives everyone an opportunity to save $$ on limited use older cars. The use of 60 and 90 day logbooks was only a (relatively) recent addition, and I would hate to see it be removed due to a few drivers abusing it.

So just some advice Dont try and do burnouts or launch the vehicle in drive. Select first manually and manually change gears down the strip. Would lose half a second on that time easy.

The only thing good about a VL is they have a Nissan 6 in them because the holden engines are garbage..... just like the rest of the car and every other model.
