I totally get all the criticism and stuff but at the same time you got to remember this young woman has been a member of this channel and will be reading all these comments. The horse will continue to grow as she gets it training and trains it. Some of the comments are just harsh and unkind. ❤❤❤ Congratulations Clem🎉

May the Great Spirit bless the Navajo Nation. May the knowledge they bring be shared far and wide. I too am a gentler. With all animals I've worked over several decades. My first horse was an old gelding, I rode him with nothing but his mane for directions, no saddle, just hop on and off we'd go! It felt so normal to me to connect with horses as a wee boy. Oh by the way, this episode should be totally dedicated to Oh my darlin Clementine! 🤠🐎

I was thinking about Steve Young too, need to make the horse work, doing lots of circles so the trailer looks like the better place to be, and continuously pulling on the rope side to side until she takes a step forward. But it would still take a lot of time to get this accomplished. I think the gentlers have a lot of patience and could have gotten it done fairly calmly their way if they had a couple/few hours like Steve does.

They likely know how to properly handle and trailer horses, when you don’t have hours or days then you have to speed it up. I think they did perfectly fine trying to load the horse, the horse could have been hurt jumping into the trailer but they couldn’t control the horses freak out. Wouldn’t say I agree with using ropes you can’t release instantly like they did but using hind end pressure can really help some horses to learn and do stuff. Not every horse listens greatly to halter pressure.

Clementine, nice little horse but probably with a western saddle on top plus her adopter is not the best idea. You condemn Big Lick, poor horses with stacks and chains plus heavy stiff big old man on top, of course I agree. Sorry but my opinion is that Horse Plus should had intervened and stopped the adoption of this horse. This horse had no respect for this young girl...they should had showed her other gentle horses and let her ride them to find the right one that she could handle ...this horse has been there 288 days no wonder no one adopted her. I have supported HP and they are a fantastic organization that saves countless lives of horses.

2 horse straight load trailers are SO challenging for even the best of horses. Ive had horses who load phenomenally but dont want anything to do with a 2 horse straight. Its very confined, and dark, and theyre smart that they know they cant even turn around once theyre in. Its against their nature to put themselves in such tight spots. I never recommend this style of trailer. If the divider couldve been removed it likely wouldve increased the chance of success. Good job working with what you got though!

I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of negative feedback for this, but there are two questions I have to ask. Number one is. My trainer said that a horse shouldn't be really ridden until they're about 5 years because their bones haven't quite finished growing yet. Question number two is. We also have a weight limit on these horses that someone over 250 lb cannot ride because they will hurt the horses back and injure them. I've unfortunately seen a few people in here that I would be uncomfortable allowing them to ride. So I'm asking for forgiveness for these questions cuz I know they'll hurt some feelings but the truth is the truth. some answers to these questions would be appreciated.

On your first question, I believe this is a young horse and not fully grown. The young lady who is adopting her said she wanted a horse she could do the training on to bond with. Yes, it is treated with antibiotics but the antibiotics used are incredibly strong, long-term and have significant side effects. Tawnee, I did some research on Harmless Harvest. You might want to investigate them before you talk to them about sponsoring. Also, coconut water has natural sugars and carbohydrates, which can cause weight gain. As a diabetic I always read labels. Check the grams of carb per serving ( usually 8 oz), then multiply that number by how many servings per container. You might find the carbs to be quite high. Lowering carb intake can help with weight loss and increased overall health. Please check the label. I know you said you have dyslexia and dyscalculia. Maybe Jason can help you. I'm an educational advocate so I understand those learning challenges. Sending love and hugs! ❤❤

Next time open the front panel on trailer at the front so the horse sees some light so it's not so scary. They don't feel like they are going into a dark place. Also don't look at them when your leading them they don't like it when you look at them when you lead them. It might go easier next time.😊❤❤❤

I don't even know where to begin but this kind of appalled me---I am a very proud financial supporter (in a VERY small way, wish it was more!!) & I think you do an amazing job of rescuing horses (etc.!). I admit to skepticism about "magical spiritual conections" of any kind, because it is easy to see what you want to see. But I was eager to see what the Navajo gentlers were doing & how the horses responded. They are indeed getting these horses used to being around humans, but to be honest I can't see anything special about it. I know, Tawnee that you are very enamoured of the rapid progress they make, but keep in mind they have only one thing to do, unlike Korey, who had multiple responsibilities & wasn't training full time. Of course they are getting faster results. But as this incident showed, they are not forging a working partnership with the horse---Clementine didn't know what to do, didn't have faith in her trainer. All he did was pull on her (which is how I see them training. also), essentially trying to force her, & even when she complied a little, kept pulling. If you want to watch someone who really understands how horses think & feel, who turns frightened, confused horses into relaxed, licking-&-chewing, understood horses, please watch Steve Young; if you want to be impressed by gentle training methods, take a look at Elisa Wallace who just did a couple of eventing competitions with her mustang who 6 months ago wouldn't let her touch him. Again, I love what you do & support you whole-heartedly, but this was a fiasco, where some person or horse could have been badly hurt. Not up to your standards.

Might I suggest having handlers wear helmets when loading unsure horses, especially in such small trailers? If Clementine had jumped in like that when he was still in there that would’ve been a wreck! The least you could do is provide a little extra safety with a helmet. Same with anyone applying pressure from behind or trying to close the door behind her. All it takes is one kick or the door being kicked back open and you could be down a trainer. Helmets may not be as glamorous when being filmed and some people hate wearing them, I’m just advocating for safety. I’m my opinion there were quite a few safety concerns in Clementine’s loading. I did appreciate at around 26:16 when they were attempting pressure from behind that as soon as Clementine tried or even thought about trying to get in, they rewarded her by taking the pressure away. Great timing! These are just my thought as someone who’s volunteered at multiple rescues, including ones where safety has been lax and ones with excellent safety protocols. I wish more people would lead by example and advocate for safety!

I've often wondered why you don't have a ramp so those horses don't have to jump up. I don't know if it makes a bit of difference, but I thought I'd ask.

Nah, it doesn't matter, ramp or no ramp. If they are not trailer trained, it makes no difference.

Sometimes a ramp makes it worse. The only trailers she has ever been in so far are open stock trailers. This is totally different and scary.

The intravenous use of coconut water D Campbell-Falck 1, T Thomas, T M Falck, N Tutuo, K Clem Abstract Medical resources routinely used for intravenous hydration and resuscitation of critically ill patients may be limited in remote regions of the world. When faced with these shortages, physicians have had to improvise with the available resources, or simply do without. We report the successful use of coconut water as a short-term intravenous hydration fluid for a Solomon Island patient, a laboratory analysis of the local coconuts, and a review of previously documented intravenous coconut use.

That loading was a disaster and very unsafe for the horse and handlers. That horse should have been trailer trained before ever being put up for adoption. You need to consult with a professional on how to work through the loading process. Yanking, pulling, and pushing are not safe or effective ways to accomplish your objective. The horse should have been taught to yield to pressure way before attempting to load cold turkey. As soon as the horse yields, let up, don't keep pulling. Cory knew that principle. He must cringe at how this was handled. Help those young people learn some techniques that are effective before someone gets hurt. Your trainers need training.
