This made me smile. I can hear your internal struggle, when you say "I really need some hussars" etc. I recognize those sort of thoughts in myself. The other approach is that you have a really good sized army of six brigades, that would produce a cracking game of black powder. I'm wondering how much that lot all weighs!
Incredible showcase Frazer! That army represents a lot of time, focus, and dedication. Inspirational display. Thanks for taking the time to set them up and share a video. Take care
I almost missed this getting distracted by other life stuff. Stunning collection, great to see you rounding it off. Commands look awesome. The cuirassier in capes is a lovely tough. I do love elite infantry.
Great to see all these figures, impressive collection, always loved these uniforms especially the light cavalry. Great stuff, keep the videos coming, cheers JP
Superb army Frazer! Absolutely fantastic and an achievement to be proud of. I hope you get a chance to field them soon. I liked the aside about needing another couple more Battalions. 🤣 Thanks for showing us.
Excellent work. I was inspired to do a Westphalian army when Bruce Quarrie brought out his Napoleonic Wargaming book many moons ago but sadly never did.
I love the Westphalian army. You have done it justice with the quality of your brushwork. I need to get my own army out on parade. It is a similar size but is lacking Cuirassiers, Guard Infantry and Chevau-leger.
That is an impressive collection. I hope you get an opportunity to use it sometime soon. One thing pops into my head - it must weigh a fair bit. I well remember lugging my old 28mm Hinchcliffe armies around , much smaller than yours by the way, and it was hard work!
Wow is the only word I have for this. Not only for the mass scene, which I alsways like, but also the individual painting quality. I agree with DICE, there should be a museum for these or a centre with non-stop wargaming..... oh I forgot, there already is... in you're backgarden :-)
Magnificent arrayed in battle-order, some of your best work Frazer. I've just bought my first Prussians off a wargamer who's getting rid of a collection, and so it begins...
Great looking army. It’s nice to see someone else use Elite Miniatures. I have an Imperial Guard a Middle Guard and a British Battalion from Elite. Never tried their cavalry. They look good though.
The more I tread down the tabletop army trail the more respect I gain for those that collect Napolionics in 28mm. Mad respect. I only do WWII in 28mm and do 10mm for naps. Nice army.
Beautiful army, really like the Guard Horse Artillery . It is such a shame that the Flag Dude shut down his business as his flags were brilliant and I used to enjoy catching up with him at Salute.
Very nice to see your Army in its Glory! Missing units: 1 Battalion Elite-Carabinier Jaeger, 1 or 2 Battalions Fusilier Garde aka. Regiment Koenigin, some Regimental Artillery, 2 Hussar Regimets and the Guard Hussars "The Lobsters". A large Company or even Squadron Guard-du-Corps, the Guard Lancers.. you see there is still a lot of Beauties you have 'missing':-)
Absolutely amazing collection and a lot of hard work, very impressive and awe inspiring, gives me a lot of inspiration even if I'm doing ancients you must be so proud and pleased with what you have achieved. Any idea how many models you have painted for the collection? Well done love your showcases they are always fantastic 😊
Thanks for subscribing, always appreciated. I think the westphalians took about 3 years to collect, that was all I was concentrating on at the time thankfully 👍
@@vonketteringham Thanks for the answer and the explanation . Your army is really amazing ! Myself I paint 28mm and I got a idea about the time passed on !
Bloody hell Frazer you nearly have as many figures as there were people at Skegnees today when I was making my delivery to the Co-op store on Roman bank.....nearly but not quite😆😅🤣😂👍Great looking units as always. I meant to mention on the video for your brigade commnders how do you get the amazing white on the uniform trousers to look more whiter than the white that comes out of the paint bottle....🤔😅🤣😂
Hi Stephen. Thanks again for the kind comments. Whites are worked up from a black undercoat using light grey and then adding white to the mix. Lots of thin layers, bit tedious but gets all a bit 'chalky ' if rushed 👍
I dont think i have ever seen Elite look so Grand! You have been busy. Another Beautiful Army. A wise man once said "a skilled painter can make ordinary figures look Great" they look Superb. Keeping this lot in a Box would be a Crime; so its time to invest in those Glass Cases. PS your Currassier battalions are 16; How many figs to your infantry Battalions? 36 or 24?
Beautiful figures. Currently starting the Westphalians as no one has these in our gaming group. Waiting for some Steve Barber figures and using some victrix middle guard as a starter.
Wonderful collection, the stage I wish it was possible to be able to leap to without the intervening thousands of man hours. Don't get me wrong I enjoy painting, but there's only so much time!
An incredible sight. How do the Hinchcliffe cuirassier in cloaks stand up to close inspection? Must admit I have disregarded the more venerable ranges entirely, and perhaps that is unfair.
Thanks for the kind comment. The Hinchcliffe figures are not as today's sculpts but still do their job. Smaller as you would expect but in a unit together that is no problem, am certainly tempted to get more caped crusaders but it may be pushing it having two regiments clothed as such!
In the 70s I belonged to the Farnborough wargames society and we had a member who had a Westfalian army. He was known as Jerome, I never knew his proper name...
