I've been in a JLG 1250, up about 50' and boomed out about 50', and have been up about 100', the rig was on a street. It was alot of excitement, but also alot to think about. This Bronto is steady like I've never seen, but man at this stage of the game I don't know if I want to go up the equivalent of football field, but then if again the opportunity were to present itself......
Funny,.......i think about that all the time even in my AJ800. Ive never had a hydraulic hose go or something to see it go in safety mode, but lile you i think the unexpected can happen!
There is almost a zero possibility of it coming down unless you hit the boom against something and it misshapes it, a hydraulic hose goes nothing will happen, that’s what check valves and counterbalance valves are for
I have found in using these type of platforms that knowing how safe a machine is does not help much when it comes to actually going up. Plus I was amazed at how many people would not even give it a go.
I use to build towers... I'd rather climb the structure of possible. I was on an 80 ft lift with very high winds and it was very sketchy. alarms going off on uneven surfaces makes a fun ride lol. not to mention I dont think it's designed to have 80ft of very heavy hydraulic hoses hanging off of it at that height
I remember going on a 200ft roller coster my friends really wanted to go on. (I hate heights) I about shit myself on the way down. Beautiful but terrifying view at the top
Used my first one today training. Had to go to the very top in the basket alone. Was 40 foot. Absolutely bugger this one that was high enough. Honestly I wouldn’t even step onto this one
Great video, boom lift is very effective and useful to work on height. Mtandt lanka is one of the company who are the boom lift manufacturers and there equipment are made up of good quality and at affordable price.
Do you need FAA clearance/certification/license/approval to operate one of those? Millions of years ago, we'd rent a Cessna 152 and dip that low for aerial photography. I'd feel much safer in a tiny plane than on a lift. Scary!
@@nastyrex4302 how was it? I’m a sign installer so I’ve been on my fair amount of big lifts the second time I was ever in a jlg it was a 185 and we were working at 180 feet on a water tower there was like 4 feet of sway lol
@@thomasrobinette3227 there is a safety inside the hydraulic cilinders that lift the platform. In case of a severe hydraulic rupture valves inside these cilinders will close, locking the platform in place. You would just be hanging there stuck on that height, and maybe come down with the gravitational descend system
“I’ve always wanted to drop a watermelon or a cantaloupe or something off here” I would’ve immediately blurted out “be kinda like a head huh?” And made everyone in that basket a little less comfortable
What if suddenly he turns around and one of the co-workers from the ground brought up a tray of coffees and gives it to them before he is filmed scurrying down the boom arm? What would you think?
"it's so smooth", try doing boom cleans and re-greasing in 12+ m/s (28mphs) wind speeds, like i've been doing all week, fuckin freezing and not so smooth! Great machine though, Brontos are by far the best
Its the alarms on the bucket you idiot. Large equipment like that have movement alarms so people on the ground know the equipment is moving. You don't know much about construction equipment do you.
