If the feet of Jesus don’t qualify as golden, nobody’s do! These would make for a super cute baby gift idea! I have a new granddaughter on the way! This will be number 5! So excited! All girls, too. It’ll bring our grand total to 8 girls. The only one left is our youngest. She graduates from nursing school this December, so she’s waiting until Chen to start her family. I’m telling you, these girls have been such a beautiful blessing. No two are alike except that they’re all brilliant and beautiful. God has blessed us, beyond measure, truly. I think this entire project is beautiful, regardless of not seeing the adorable little toes. For the purpose, the gold is perfection!
I don't know how you do it but I do appreciate seeing you first thing every morning. My life sucks right now, 53 years of marriage, and my hubby has leaving on his mind. You are the one bright moment of my day.. Thank you, G ❤❤
She shoots… SHE SCORES!! This clock is just stunning, and thank you for showing your struggles and frustrations along the way… It just helps. You know? Love your videos!
Congratulations on 10k. And great job on the clock. I was screaming, "Don't do it." I've seen people fill it in with clear or slightly tinted resin, and they still showed up. And it's normal for the ocean water to fill or partly fill your footprints.
I'm just wondering - what if you had left the feet empty, would they have shown up just as well? (with toes?) Otherwise, I love it! It's gorgeous - beautiful clock - great idea.
I love the clock. I was thinking yes you are going to need to fill the feet to bad I did like them open. But Then ... you added sparkly glitter and more sparkly glitter If these are your foot prints it is PERFECT! I ordered the feet awhile ago for another project. Now I have to make either a clock or just a wall hanging for one of my girls. She lived in Crystal Springs for about 10 years. She really misses the out door water experiences.
Hi Michelle I love watching your videos to see what your brain is going to come up with. This turned out to be ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL for someone who didn't know what they were going to do I the beginning of this video. Great job and great idea thanks for sharing. I LOVE IT!!!
Michelle, every time I think of something to add, that in my mind sounds possible, I can hear all those voices saying I’m not very experienced! Well, I’m not! So here goes. If you didn’t want to fill the feet, could you have put a tiny bit of clay where you would want to block the resin? Go ahead and tell me if that’s dumb because I really need the lesson. All of you, remember to just be gentle, ok? 😊 BTW…I love the glitter filling! The clock idea was brilliant! Thank you!!
Probably, but I knew I needed to flood coat the whole thing to get an even surface. It would have worked if I didn’t need the even surface, good thinking out of the box!
Also wondering if you could've colored in the feet with mica or paint to preserve the concave effect, and the the clear coat wouldn't eliminate the impressions.
The feet are cute with the gold, and the clock turned out pretty. I have an idea in case you want to try this again. Maybe tilt the mold for the sand/footprint layer so that when you do the waves it will be deeper away from the footprints. You won’t have to do a top layer to even it out, and therefore won’t have to fill the feet.
It turned out beautiful...I love that you turned it into a clock! I wonder if you could have just slightly tinted the resin to fill in the feet? Of course, the gold glitter does look very pretty also.
Beautiful! I wonder of dusting the feet with a brown or gold before the top coat would help. Could just highlight. I have never done it so I don’t know. Just a thought. I love your work!
You could have painted the feet with mica so that you could still see the toes and cover them with clear resin and it would have given them dimention 😊 try it again
Okay question for everyone who's used starfish. Does your starfish have a strong fishy smell? I bought some and wow! Those feet are so cute. The gold glitter gives them a sparkle. Our drills should have come with little wrenches 🔧wonder if they are the right size? It would be such a great thing if they were.
Michelle this is so pretty. Do you have a video on using Let’s Resin casting resin? I used that today and gosh I had to throw away about 12 ounces because it cured before I finished. 😂😂
That’s the problem. It was way too much resin to sit that long. The more resin that is mixed the quicker it cures. If you need 30 minutes to pour then pour that amount into multiple cups so they are shallow.
Hasn’t yet, however, this particular sand from my beach is actually like baby powder and not coarse. It’s pulverized quartz and not sand. My mold is fine.
Would it be possible to pull the silicone feet part way out. So they act like a cork. If they aren't snug enough you could use something like sculpey clay inside with a raised edge to keep the resin out.
