I'm uploading my footage uncut, and I apologize in advance to the drivers because I have the WRONG CAMERA for doing this. Soon to be remedied with another one that has no manual zoom function and is capable of auto-focusing in low light. My filming skills for this kind of footage and this kind of camera improved by the end of day 2, but please understand that I had never planned to do any of this when I left my house for the shootout. It's not what I came here to do, and when I couldn't do what I wanted to do, I still went anyway. This is just what I managed to do for everyone else with the opportunities and equipment I had. Some of these people may not have any other footage of their run and I'm trying to prevent that no matter how bad the footage is. All of them can now claim "as seen on Jafromobile", no matter what it is.
This video is not a comprehensive collection of every run on Day 1, it's mostly qualifying. I was only able to film everything after 3 PM-ish and this video begins with 9.5 Index qualifying and progresses through all classes that follow. Some of the EcoBoost class is here, but I didn't have the batteries or memory cards necessary to be able to shoot all of the runs for the entire day, lesson learned. I'm going to try to bring you as much of the Index Classes and Quick classes as I could while I'm here.
There will be some categories that aren't shown because of power and storage limitations. I had to make choices but I'm here following several racers participating in the 9.5, 10.5, 11.5 index classes, so I wanted to make those events as complete as I could. I froze my butt off after sunset to bring you all of this footage. There were continuous 25-30 mph winds for most all of the weekend and we barely broke above 60°F highs and in the 40's at night. You'll hear the announcer talking about it. I hope this video installs some some semblance of pain and suffering in everyone who CHOSE not to make it in person this year.

But still, shame on you. Though other amazing RU-vidrs have done this in the past, I didn't see anyone else doing what I was doing, and nobody that's good at it does this with a manual zoom lens. I won't do this for anyone next year, and that is NOT a promise! My plans and usefulness were changed by not having a car with me. I'll have a car here next year so I won't be able to do this again. Most of you will thank me after watching it.
