well 2E units do feel a kind of love when fighting, so killing, aka "loving" someone as often as 9S was obviously gonna affect her.

I never understood this why would they need to execute yorha units when their memories can simply be loaded onto another body after they die? I mean isn't killing them kinda pointless

Yeah man the clues were there I couldn't figure out the majority of them before the "plot twist" but the quest you fight other Yorha models made me think why 2B wasn't as armed as other battle models

what I'm confused about is why did 9S have to fry her enemy recognition software to attack the virus-infected yorha members? She of all people should always have clearance to kill other androids.

@@haileyroberts1103 but if she had no clearance whatsoever, she wouldn't be able to perform her function, so there has to be some clearance available, maybe locked behind a condition but definitely there

So true, i played this game first in 2022 when i got my new gaming pc. And since 2022 i have xompleted this game for about 3-4 times. I dont know why but i always want to replay it again and again.

@@Zalebra it's simply because it's THAT GOOD, all there is to it really. Yoko Taro is such an amazing writer and everything kind of compounded into perfection for Automata in particular.

A2 merged her memories with 2B. It is thus kind of hard to tell if A2 or 2B made the call and executed it and thus if 2B even failed her task as 2E unit or if the memory merge was an unconventional but plausible approach to ensure mission success.

(SPOILERS) The reason why 9s was going insane was because Adam hacked into his mind to reveal 9s memories. In those said memories 9s was starting to remember all the time 2b would take his life. 9s didn't know what happened for sure but he would wake back up in the bunker with no memory of what happened at the last second. The commander went so far as to delete all knowledge of 2b. So everytime 9s saw 2b,9s didn't even know who she was or how close they were. (MORE SPOILERS) Yes 9s did upload his memory's and conscience into the ark. Where it went, probably to the moon or is flying off into the stars. But that's where Nier reincarnation takes place. ( Theorized) (EVEN MORE SPOILERS) A2 retrieved 2b memories from the sword not her personality, nor did they merged together in any way. They were slightly similar. Being constantly in pain in suffer taking the commander orders. Only A2 successfully escaped while 2E never got the chance. I really love the whole trilogy of the games. Even though I wish I could watch the anime to get more lore but I'm sticking to the games for now. I've watched 2 stage plays: 1. Epilogue for Nier Automata, 2. History of the boy combats models that ended up failing so bad, every boy combat model caught red eye disease in the first few months in duty. Then commander chose women to be combat models. Few groups of women combat models became self aware of the commanders lie in a short period of time. From Nier Automata quest to hunt down the rogue yorha members. I wish Yoko Taro could add on to the series like explain what's happening to the dark side of the planet and how are they so advanced in technology and how they know so much when everyone on the sun side of the planet is trying to pick up bread crumbs. Scraping any knowledge they can obtain only to be completely wrong or confused. Sorry for lore dumping, These stories are what carry me through troubling times. Thanks for reading!

Before the assault that ended in the destruction of YoRHa, 9S was about to tell 2B about what he found in the bunker's server. I had a really different reaction to that when I replayed that later vs when I played that the first time.

I don't know about that. Sounded like she was in a lot of pain and had serious mental health issues due to obvious trauma. She can't be the perfect girl because of her @$$, that's not how it works. That's just a doll that you're referring to. But maybe it's the imperfections and having an actual personality that makes her charismatic and likeable.

The job for 2E is to basically call herself 2B and to kill 9S every time he finds out the truth about humanity. He's done it numerous times causing a total memory wipe meaning his experiences and personality are always cleaned out when she kills him. That's the job of an E model. To accompany an S model and kill them when they learn something they shouldn't.

@@infini_ryu9461 What's also interesting is 2B killed 9S a total of 42 times according to an interview with Yoko Taro, where 42 is apparently the answer to the universe. NieR Automata is more intertwined with philosophy and nihilism than we think.
