6:11-9:15. Paul starts this section in appealing for holiness in the Corinthian church: “Come out from among them”. He reflects on the coming of Titus who reported their welcome repentance and change of heart, and the immediate comfort it afforded him. How human was the apostle! Next he addresses the collection for the poor saints at Jerusalem in chapters 8 & 9. Wise observations that need to taken to heart today, given the often questionable fundraising practices in the church. There are principles here that apply to the regular giving of the saints as well as for the special needs that require an unusual response from time to time.
