How old do you have to be to NOT plaster the 2dses with stickers the moment you noticed the sticker sheet? How much self control do you have, man? Are you even human?
This video is so nostalgic for me. The Pikachu 2DS was my first 3DS. I remember watching this video when I was waiting for my birthday to come so I could finally get my hands on it.
They do have the Red, Blue, And Yellow (Pikachu) edition consoles for North America (EDIT) I too have a 2DS in Crimson Red 2 and i wish i was able to get my hands on the Pokemon Red one. It looks amazing!
Just realised that the coloured buttons aren't in reference to the >New< 3DS family (Which is a reference to the Famicon system), but to the colours of the original Pokemon games. Kinda cool.
For a gamer living in Japan, you do sound very British. (It's a compliment don't worry, I'm not saying that you're not actual Japanese). A pity Nintendo didn't make a version of Game Boy Green for the west even as a download title for these consoles or sell it pre owned, that would have been a hot seller, but there you go. All they had to do was include the red/blue Pokémon that you couldn't get in Yellow as exclusives and there you go. :D
Yes Green is only Japan and Blue is everywhere else. This is because the original games Japan got Red and Green and the rest of the world got Red and Blue.
@@samichowdhury8634 technically you could do that just replace the analog Circle pad cover with a black one and the buttons but that would lower the value I think it looks great as it is
I remember taking the red one and my brother the blue one. Then i got pikachu edition later when it got released. I also remember a videogame journalist talking about his first experience with the game from turning back from japan. In the plane he was playing the green version, before the pokemon mania took over the world. It was in 96 and a japanese friend of his told him to play that game. He was sceptical and thought the game was garbage at first. But he was surprised after landing, 10h later, that the flight passed so quickly.
I can't believe this was the first video I ever watched from you at age 12, then watched nothing from you for over 3 years until another video of yours (specifically the mixbox video) was in my recommended and I thought "This guy looks familiar" And now this is my favourite youtube channel
I like the many reviews of the various 3DS consoles you have posted on youtube. I use a GBA SP AGS-101, Nintendo DS Lite and NEW Nintendo 3DS XL. I can't fathom having a ton of the same systems. So, do you ever say to yourself, "Wow, I really have too many 3DS consoles?" Unless you are a collector, if so, power on through. :)
FYI for anyone watching this who was curious. The Blue Pokemon 2DS was a Pokemon Center store exclusive, meaning you had to go a Pokemon Center store and purchase it. That's why he doesn't have a Blue 2DS system to unbox.
originally not a fan of the 2DS but man i want one of these. also reminds me of N64 because they had a console or controller that was transparent. Nostalgia!!!
you sir are really really cool! I often stumble on your videos but today I hit the subscribe button :) I'm from England and the 2DS doesnt really appeal to me however I was tempted to go pick up the yellow version today but seeing your video today has gave me a really big nostalgic feeling, I own the original Japanese Pocket Monster gameboy carts with boxes and seeing these boxes was awesome, thanks so much for doing the unboxing video! hope you have fun!
The other cool thing about the dpad/start/select buttons is that regular Game Boy games had grey cartridges in the same grey, and Game Boy Color enhanced games (such as Yellow or the Pokemon TCG) had black cartridges like the Yellow 2DS' buttons. Yellow still had a grey cartridge in Japan despite being GBC enhanced though, and a yellow cart everywhere else.
With every Nintendo 2DS- or 3DS-system unboxing I see from you, I get the urge to start collecting all these cool looking devices. It's just too bad then, that the Pokémon variations of the Nintendo 2DS are already sold out everywhere by this point. The only places to get them now is by buying them from resellers for escalated prices, which is something I really don't wish to do. Could you tell me if these variations are still readily available in Japan currently? I know the system is region-locked, but it might give me an incentive to play some of the Japan-exclusive 3DS-games that never made it over to the west for some reason or another. Thanks for any replies in advance! :)
The translucent coverings remind me of when I used to play the mess out of my GBA with Pokemon Sapphire (anyone remember the purple translucent "phat" version?)... Good times...
Great video my dude!! I personally like the 2ds more than the 3ds its more affordable, It fits better in my hand, I never use 3d, I like the style of the Gameboy and it reminds me of the Gameboy and Gameboy color. That's why in my opinion 2ds beats 3ds :D
0:10 quite the eccentric fellow! Would you consider talking more about your technique and opinions perhaps in another video if there is another coffee break? And also it'd be interesting to see what kind of fine coffee culture + shops are like in Japan!
My European edition of the Pikachu 2DS arrived on Wednesday, unfortunately we got no new art for the stickers which are all the same between the three European versions + no map or mew codes. On the bright side though, our version of the Yellow game comes with the Gameboy Colour enhanced pallet, which is a nice bonus.
In North America, at lease America, there is a New 3DS limited edition that comes with red and blue face plates and I got one and it's amazing 😍 it comes with red and blue downloaded onto the console
I would buy one but can't for two reasons: 1. The 2DS is region locked so I can't play US games on a Japanese console 2. They cost upwards of $200 a pop, so the best I can do is the Link Edition 2DS, and 3. i recently got a Crimson Red 2 2DS I'm sad now 😭
