2K20 (EP 26) US-24 West in Colorado: Ute & Wilkerson Pass 

This was a very pleasant eastbound drive on 24 over Wilkerson Pass in 2019 after spending a week volunteering with the Colorado Trail Foundation near Camp Hale and moving to a campsite near Lake George to try my fly fishing luck on the South Platte and Tarryall Creek for a few days before heading home to the southeast. Headed back to that area late summer '24. Thanks for the scenery and the memories of that drive, along with bringing back some good memories of my senior high school year in 1970 with the Gordon Lightfoot tune.

Oh, this brings back so many memories. I haven't been up here for years. Always loved that section between Divide and Florissant. And if you like twisty mountain roads as much as I do, take a left at the Thunderbird Inn (at 4:26) and head down CR-1 to Cripple Creek. Great road, amazing scenery all the way. Watch out for the llamas!

This road is like road from Bijelo Polje to Zlatibor (Montenegro and Serbia,south-easth Europe) 🇲🇪🇷🇸 America has every type of nature,it's amazing. ❤

Had a horse boarding & training facility 4 mi. South of divide. Saw some great memories and landmarks. Thanks my friend. Had my cab replaced at Monks on hey 24 & in the day did a lot of drinking at thunderbird in florissant. Beautiful drive.

Memories! We went across there in 1990 - it's as pretty as I remember and the rest of the ride is really interesting - some fascinating geology to be seen. I hadn't heard either of those songs in so long that I'd forgotten them - there were a few songs from the 70s that I liked (not a lot), but those were two of them.

I lived on the north side of highway 24 at Green mountain falls in the late 60s and early 70s

& the trip on US 24 continues. Love the rural scenery.

Ive been planning a trip again out to this area again once the pandemic subsides. I like the gradual change in elevation a lot more than taking 70, which is a much steeper and faster paced route. The view of the grassland and mountains in the end is very nice coming off the pass. Thank you.
