Hey guys I know this was a bit of a rush and this phase of the build deserved a better walk around video but unfortunately I needed to move really quick on some things. I will have some much better updates following this as well as a better explanation on why I am making the changes and going back to a heavier build after talking so much smack on my previous version haha! More to follow!

Very clean and balanced build. Just watched your Big $$$ Mistake video. Glad I stumbled upon your channel. It will be very helpful with what I want to do to my Tacoma. Looking forward to checking out your content. Your subscriber count should be at least 100k+.

Camper shell! I look forward to seeing what you pick up. I like these videos where you show the build before and after. It's nice to see it before it changes again.

@@alpinetactics look forward to seeing it! Congrats on the baby! Hope you have more for those of us who can't! Have you heard any updates on Aucar by chance? Was curious what they've been up to as of late.

Congratulations on the baby, just wondering have you ever thought about maybe getting an aftermarket exhaust system, maybe a cold air intake? Just to help better the sound of the truck? That’s like the next thing on my Tacoma to do list. Love the videos man definitely a top Tacoma on RU-vid for sure!

Good walk around! First off, thanks for the iPad mount recommendation -worked great for the kids camping a few weekends ago. I was wondering why you went from a camper shell to bed rack and then I guess now back to a camper shell. I’m running an ARE camper shell. Fits our family of 5 well. Congrats on upcoming baby! 🎉 Question: how do you justify total payload and gross vehicle weight? I calculated my trucks payload, with 5 passengers, camping gear and current build and I’m already 500lbs over. That’s without adding a new steel bumper I’m waiting on, and I still wanna add a topper rack and RTT. I’m gonna be 1000lbs over payload rating likely fully loaded. Do people just not worry about it? Cause there are some SUPER heavy builds out there. Yours looks on the lighter end, all things considered.

Thanks man! Glad that mount worked out 👍 You know everything is a trade off. The weight really is an issue and ironically I have spent the past year trying to get the truck as light as possible. The thing I missed the most about the shell was being able to not worry about all my gear being stolen at a stop or being able to pack the day before a trip. The baby was unexpected but that really was the main reason for going back to it. I needed to fit a larger tent up there and so it was either going to be a taller bed rack with a t cover or a shell. The bed rack would have kept things light weight but I found a used shell that was much cheaper then going the bed rack route. Overall the shell is much more practical and with the growing family I just decided to live with the excess weight. I will probably make some changes to the truck long term to better account for that weight but for now it is what it is lol.

Yes, been meaning to re gear but never got around to it. If I end up throwing some 35s I think I will if not i think I won’t.
