About 1 hour and 15 minutes into the replay of this superb story. I grew up in a town with many Polish-American citizens, many of them immigrants from during and after WW2. I learned to respect them as they were all hard working, intelligent and very proud of their heritage. I felt moved to send a super thanks in honor of my good friend and former military comrade, the late Jersey Pasterkewicz, with whom I served with in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. He was a UH-1 Mechanic and a Vietnam War veteran as well. Thanks for this outstanding presentation Konrad and Woody.

What a great presentation! As I dive further into WWII history, I’m learning more and more about how truly complicated it is concerning the Poles. Even on a personal level, trying to explore my lineage on my Mom’s side of the family (Polish) is much more complicated than my Dad’s side (British). By the way, the Monte Cassino series has been fantastic. It’s now a place I definitely want to visit, and read more about.

For a channel (@WW2TV) that sets very high standards of quality when it comes to in-depth presentations, to claim this episode from Konrad was brilliant, says something special. Not only a great story but a fantastic set of photographs as well.

An extraordinary photographic journey and historical record, Konrad's grandfather would surely be pleased that his son, Konrad's father, preserved everything after all. The Accordion: Konrad is absolutely right about that!

I am searching for superlatives and find myself just shaking my head. So sorry I missed this live with what I can imagine was a lively and grateful sidebar. With each passing minute, I learned something new and important. Engrossing. Thank you Konrad. And Paul, I'd give you a medal if I could.

1:06:47 I highly recommend Bohdan Tymieniecki s book titled "Her name was Lily" which is his wartime memoir. Unfortunately I am not aware if the book was ever translated into english (orig. pol. title "Na Imię Jej Było Lily"). Tymieniecki was a tank warfare tactics and gunnery instructor and He was consummate professional in his trade, that s why he was known as a "tank case". Today We would have probably call him "tank nut".

Howdy folks! Impressive presentation on the Polish armored units in Italy. Great photos of the campaign. I want a whole show about the secret commando unit full of former Italian paratroopers and Serbian royalists, commanded by Polish officers.

Some of the initial frames of this video were not taken in Cassino but during an NZ exercise in Mignano Montelungo
