Artists like this needs more respect because they entered the world of kpop when this genre of music wasn't so popular. They made kpop known in the world. These days artists do not have to strugle that much to be known in the world. 2ne1, big bang and more others are the base of the kpop that we know these days. I am sure that this music wouldn't be that known without them.
for sure especially bc social media wasn't a popular platform on which to promote new music. The fact that BB and 2ne1 made it big internationally in an era where Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter weren't so popularly used is a huge testament to their contributions to Korean entertainment. Not just for K-pop in international media, but domestically for Korean stars too. 2ne1 walked so unconventional beauties in the industry (like Hwasa) could run.
Yes, when we can totally enjoy and feel the performance. I miss this kind of vibe. The vibe that only 2ne1, BIGBANG... I'll include 4minute as well, I love their song 'CRAZY'. CL and GD as soloist. the fact that she gave more energy, at one of her random tour dates, than most of these idols do at prestigious awards shows really says something . CL will forever be the blueprint .
Frankly speaking I imagine it’s cuz most female idols these days physically don’t have the energy for it. And even if they did, I don’t see the passion. I’d go so far as to say no other girl group has ever managed to shine or perform the way 2ne1 did. Mamamoo is probably the closest girl group to sharing 2ne1’s vibe, but no one comes close to the magic of CL

Can we talk about how enticing the camera works are? I mean, Cl's performance slayed all of Kpop's past, present and future but then the camera movements were so precise to the flow and drops, the magic lay in the cams operation too. Hats off. The sheer number of times I've replayed this is lost to me now, ngl.
I feel that after CL kpop was never the same, it's hard to say that someone has reached the same level as her, that someone has the same stage presence as this woman, the same power!! She is UNIQUE and UNPARALLELED, I would honestly say she is the most complete artist I have ever seen, she sings, dances, composes, produces, and on top of that, she has a surreal stage presence, she was simply born to be an artist. It's been almost ten years since this performance and I've never seen anyone dominate the stage as well as her, no one can surpass what CL and 2NE1 were for kpop, no one has ever been on the same level as this woman!!

Im not even a big fan of k-pop (even though i do like it) but CL is quickly becoming my idol. I mean just that attitude and badassery..and shes a great performer and musician. Shes literally perfect.

They put a really high standard to a kpop girl group that nobody cant reach that level. They don't need to wear half naked clothes just to noticed them. Their presence and charisma is on another level. Missing the gold old days. No shade meant, but dont udare to compare them to other gg (the one who called next 2ne1) cause they'll never be on the same level with them when it comes to performances.
They were called "next 2ne1" by YG to get attention now move on and stop comparing omg. Ofc they will never be the same since their concept is different. I can't imagine 2ne1 rollerblading like blackpink with pink everywhere (just like I can't imagine blackpink singing I am the best with the clothes 2NE1 wear for example). Boombayah would be turned into a more badass song so it would fit 2NE1s concept. That's what I am trying to make people understand. 2ne1 and bp are different. If they were not, we could switch their songs without change. But, once again, it is not possible bc they are two different group, with different concepts, different members, different style, different voices, different gen. Icelovesize yeah. Crazy right? I watched most of YG's reality shows & survival shows and all I can say is, the cut-throat training they go through is all worth it because their performance is out of this world
YG compagny raises artists while other compagnies raises idols.. basically that's the difference, that's why YG artists are more dependant and passionate about their music and performances! Instead of promoting an image or a concept, they promote music and that's why I'm a YG stan!
when 2NE1 debuted they were never considered as rookies..... it's funny when i see fans defending their Idols saying that they are just rookies and needs time to grow. cant accept that they are far behind and will never surpass 2NE1 when it comes to live performance and live vocals.

Yeah, I never understood the phrase "wanna be black" there's no such thing, it does not make any sense. for example, when you listen to UB40 and the guy that "sounds black" is actually white, people are suprised by the fact that he's white. You don't sound black or white or whatever, theres no such thing about sounding a colour.
