2ne1 had a short career with just maybe 40 or so songs with just 2 albums but yet their career had such a huge impact on the KPOP industry. They are one of the only GG with all their songs (titles and B-sides) on the charts that is why it's always a shock to Koreans when they realise that 2ne1 just has 2 albums under their name. They changed the way girl groups released music or performed and that is why even if the younger k-pop fans don't agree 2ne1 will always be one of the top GG's of all time cause they achieved all that when streaming and RU-vid weren't a thing. They had collaborations with American artists, had American tours, signed fashion label deals, and guested on American shows at an age when the internet was getting popular and k-pop wasn't as popular as now.
YG (their former label) founder Yang Hyun Suk was a member of Seo Taiji and Boys so this song is a homage to their old song. More so in the choreo of the original version.
2nd Gen Legendary Queens. 2NE1's discography is legit, LEGIT!! They're one of my only top 5 K-Artist (Bigbang, 2NE1, Winner, Epik High, MFBTY). Their live is always awesome. I feel so old, i remember when they uploaded the first acustic version. It was a little after the Sewol ferry tragedy (with more than 300 fatal victims, mostly students of the same school), they where wearing all black there but i guess the sadness stuck to this version

No one can exactly say when the old gen end and the new one begin . 1st Generation: 1992 - 2003 2nd Generation: 2003 - 2012 3rd Generation: 2012 - about 2019 4th Generation: about 2019 - today Some kpop stans used to think that 2003 it's 1.5 gen, 2012 - 2,5, and 2019 - 3,5. So definitely no one knows it for sure.
The 2nd Gen girl groups I remember are: 2NE1, Girls Generation,, 4 minute, TARA, Miss A, Wonder Girls, Sistar, F(x), After School, and Orange Caramel. Probably more but these are the ones I remember. The first 3 groups are on my playlist..
I think genertions changes per 7 years. All I know is that 2nd gen ended in 2009/2010. 3rd gen ended in 2016. We are in 4th gen now. Groups debuting later this year tplo early next year is 5th gen already. Some say NewJeans started the 5th gen because there was a shift on Kpop. I believe 2009 is the last of 2nd gen, the yeat 2NE1 debuted. 7 years because a typical kpop group lasts only 7 years (the 7 year itch they say)

sorry but seo taiji can't be included in 1st gen. They are the beginners. From them, korean music found a new direction. Create this 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc generation that we know now.
