@@rinriveria1539 Yes, I know about the scandal. But It was years before their contract was up which was in 2016. It's like after Minzy left they just gave up on them. They were still the top girl group even after the scandal, but I think yg wanted a group that can appeal to younger audiences. But their success would have been massive if he didn't treat them like crap and cut their career short

They performed at the mama awards December 2015 just months before Minzy left and people LOVED IT. They got no hate or major backlash for it. He could have kept them going. He was just waiting for the opportunity to let them go and that's exactly what he did as soon as he saw he can make money off of another girl group

This makes me wanna stan 2NE1 although they disbanded, this song gives me badass and the cool type like cannot express it. Sounds epic wish they had released it. Although bp version is good too.
I know the producers recycle songs for new groups but I really wish they would just write more songs that are solely for Black Pink to avoid Al the hate. As a Black Jack, I've followed BP for a long time and the two songs to me that sounded the most original for BP were playing with fire and DDD. Lowjey feel like more of their newer music feels more in time with them but the song Money for Lisa for some reason makes me think it was for CL
I'm also upset 2NE1 disbanded way too soon and they would've killed this song, but it's not unusual for songs to get recycled in the industry. It happens all the time, especially when you share the same producers. Just because it was meant for one artist doesn't mean it can't find a home with another.
I mean, most of us knew it was meant to be a 2NE1 song the moment we heard it when it came out. It just has that unmistakable 2NE1 vibe about it and it was obviously just recycled by BLACKPINK. Still, the girls of BP did an amazing job making the song their own, but I could definitely tell which parts were meant for the different members of 2NE1.

YEP!!! First time I heard As If It's Your Last.. I said to my husband "This is 2NE1 leftovers 100%" and started being like "This is Boms bit, this is CL's bit.." lol. Just took a lot of years for it to come out as fact! I totally agree with the other songs you mentioned as well. They were the only BP songs I really liked.
What's meant to be will always find it's way..... As what minzy said, it's their demo song with a different lyrics, but they choose a different song to be included in their album... if they chose this, one of 2ne1's song will not be part of their album.. It's destined to happen..
I still hope 2ne1 will comeback as a team. Not because they were iconic or because they were mismanaged and blacklisted but solely because they love each other and show they wanted to be together. Blackjack will always look forward to Bom, CL, Minzy and Dara in their solo careers and wait for their ot4 come back. Hwaiting 2ne1!!

Bigbang is the highest earner at that time and there boy groups have just debuted iKon and Winner so they set aside 2NE1 that time because of issues and tge budgets must be save to the newer groups

one of the reasons i never stayed a blink despite being there since predebut was the pain from 2ne1’s unfair disbandment and hearing the echoes in BP’s songs, knowing they were reused from 2ne1 and promoted as “prettier 2ne1”
I always knew Blackpink’s music was 2NE1’s unreleased music. It was so obvious. BP is the sequel group, the successors, the same group but with new members.

As a big 2NE1 fan, I'm not sure. It would be like Gotta Be You, which is fantastic but was not a big hit and there is no reason why their version would have been a bigger hit than Gotta Be Your or Do You Love Me.
I wish we could have seen more BP and 2NE1 interactions as senior and junior group from the same company :/ I know the BP girls have shown their love of 2NE1 a few times over the years, like when Rosé sang Bom's song. I wish YG would have treated them better :(
People keep on calling out and disliking blackpink for taking the position of 2E1, but that's literally the culture in the music world. Fans who don't understand the deeper world of music will never get it. As a fan myself I love Blackpink not only because of their addictive music formula, but most importantly because of their character and personality as Blackpink. Concept embodiment doesn't always come out perfect with idols/artists. Sometimes, certain concepts will look forced or awkward on certain groups/idols. But Blackpink is the most perfect chemistry and match I have ever seen in Kpop. Each of the blackpink member's individuality are really opposite to each other, but when they come together as a group, it's like the perfect real life illustration of the yin yang. That's what makes them extremely different from other groups. The diversity and uniqueness in Blackpink is what makes them really attractive to the fans. Jisoo herself even said that whenever people compare them to 2E1 they actually feel grateful, because they look up to them a lot, which also explains why Blackpink perfectly embodies a piece of 2E1 in their music. Plus, Teddy has always been the producer of YG even during 2E1.
I understand what your saying. And I agree. Blackpink does have a very unique vibe, because all the members are so different, and they have totally different singing styles. They are a very special group, nobody can deny that. It’s not Blackpinks fault they get so much hate about 2NE1 etc. I actually blame the fandom. It’s the fandom who constantly say that Blackpink is the ‘best girl group of all time’ and ‘they they are the ones who made Kpop global’ etc etc. Unfortunately that just isn’t true. You mentioned in your comment about ‘understanding the music world’. Then people should understand that for years and years Kpop was growing in popularity across the world and in the west. Groups like 2NE1, BIGBANG, EXO, Shinee, GIRLS GENERATION paved the way, then more recently TWICE, RED VELVET, MAMAMOO had massive global hits topping global iTunes Charts. BTS and Blackpink are not the first Kpop acts to be famous worldwide. But they did debut into an industry dominated by social media, RU-vid, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Tik tok. (Which explains a lot) The black pink members grew up idolizing 2Ne1. Think how embarrassed they must feel when their own fans make fun of their seniors and brag about Blackpink ‘being the first Kpop group to do blah blah’. Even when it’s not true (black pink were not the first Koop group to perform at Coachella, google it). Black pink is a global phenomenon…. We get it. But Kpop existed long before them, and it will exist long after them. My guess is there will be 1 more album before disbandment. And it will be time for the next big group to dominate the charts. But hey… that’s show business

2ne1 was the first kpop group I’d ever heard and one of their songs was the kpop song that introduced me to the language and culture. They’ll always have a special place in a Spotify playlist

Ok so the last part of the video is Go Away. The 2ne1 girls recorded AIIYL at the same time but because the 2 songs sounded the same they chose to not use AIIYL back then. They were supposed to use it for their latest comeback in addition to new songs, but YG disbanded them. It's no secret that YG said that the 2ne1 girls were ugly and that he created BP to be the prettier version of 2ne1. I mean the BP girls are drop dead gorgeous and could be models. Also we can all agree that YG has been super lazy when it comes to promote BP. And that he gave them recycle songs during their debut. It has nothing to do with any of these GG and nothing to do with their individual talents. it's just facts so stop fighting about that.

AIYL is a song intended for 2ne1 as their comeback, but since YG think that its not yet time to release the song, they just throw it to the vault, until BP sing it for comeback, that is the main reason why AIYL doest give the vibe and tune that is intended for BP.. This song clearly seen as BP and 2ne1 have really different vibe for each other even though they both rock girl crush concept.. This would have been a perfect kill comeback for 2ne1 if this was release and sing for them.. They didn't want to disband CL even said she wished they were 'given more chances.'
I don't really get why some Blackjacks are mad because AIIYL was given to Blackpink. Just be thankful that the song was given to a worthy group. I mean, out of all 3rd generation girl groups, it's obvious that only Blackpink can give justice to this song.
Also if you listen closely to forever young, it’s eerily similar to 2ne1 style, given that a lot of bp songs are recycled songs that 2ne1 may or may not have recorded demos and just did not release them out, I always found their concept eerily similar to 2ne1. And I remember the old ceo. Saying in an interview he wanted to make a prettier girl group of them and several years later he did coincidentally around the same time that blackpink debuted, lol. But true black pink songs I do believe are whistle, boombayah playing with fire, stay, dduddu, etc
