Platinum songwriter and producer Delray Richardson gives his opinion on people that try to throw dirt on Tupac's legacy by saying he wasn't a Gangster. #Tupac #BiggieSmalls #Snitching
Tupac wasn't a "gangster", that word by its self is too trivial to define a man of his magnitude. Tupac was a revolutionary, a poet, a leader, son of a panther, fearless, talented, and had knowledge well beyond his years. So anybody trying to hang their hat on being a gangster is merely just a thug with no direction in life. Tupac was a celestial being the likes of which the world may never see again in the genre of hip hop!
I hate when journalists say “Tupac was playing hard” or gangsta when referring to the Vegas fight as if he didn’t shoot two off duty cops waaay before he met Suge lol
hands down Tupac was a wannabe gangster.... Got a set tattoo, didn't do the work. He caused a lot of Bloods to get killed over that. You guys get that half those dudes from the Mobb got killed by other Bloods not happy about Tupac being a wannabe with a set tattoo?
The way this brotha just analyzed 2pac legacy and reputation clearly just proved he was a gangster in his own right a real stand up guy is gonna show you he a G by his actions and that's what Pac established...
He was pretty much a street soldier who been through hell and back wasn’t a stick up kid or would set trip on people... unless they press him and from all the fight stories and the shootings I’ve heard from people who were around him he wasn’t a punk ...
And he was on bail for the rape charge that my friend shows how much of a snitch he was. There is not a black man in the world that would of gotten away with that open ur fucking eyes bro
”Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. I’m not the thief who grabs your purse. I’m not the guy who jacks your car. I’m not down with people who steal and hurt others. I’m just a brother who fights back. I’m not some violent closet psycho. I’ve got a job. I’m an artist.” - Tupac Shakur
You commented without watching the whole video through. The video wasn't even up for 2 minutes and you commented.. and somebody liked it too.. Lol. Jumping the gun, huh?
@@brianburton5946 i been watching this channel for years.. this channel always drops solid and official videos.. i don't have to watch the video to know they gonna come correct.
Facts.. and thats why they had to take him out. And ruin his image with thats phony rape charge. Cuz eveyone girls and guys loved him. He had more power than politicians..he could have done something with that had he got older..and "they" knew that. Thank god he didnt waste anytime laying down what he did!!! Tupac forever he was damn near black jesus/black panther rapper. Fuck the media and the gov. Lies!!
@@quanbrooklynkid7776 Well for starters you're assuming and when you do that you make an ass out of yourself. I've agreed with guys who have said not so favorable stuff about Pac, I'm very fair. Scorpio in his latest video on this channel gave his assessment about Pac's demise and I agreed with him so what's your point?
Yea man that whole "Tupac wasn't a gangster" term has always pissed me off. First off that man never called himself a gangster but he did some of the most GANGSTA shit we have ever seen. Meanwhile your so called Gangsters in this world have been rats, snitches and men who did nothing for our people.
This why pac was the G.O.A.T to me he always been my favorite rapper he died when I was 11 I'll be 36 next month it's been 26 years since he's been gone and he still as relevant today as he was then rest up O.G #GODBLESSTHEDEAD #RIP2PAC #ITSDEEPERTHANRAP 🙏🏾👑🎤
I was 4... my mama picked me up from daycare in TEARS that day. I ain’t take it serious cause I was so young and was jealous of how much my mama used to talk about him and play him nonstop. But the older I get, then more i become a fan and dig deeper and deeper. Been listening to this nigga nonstop for a month straight
He’s the GOAT no doubt, I’ll be 34 in a couple of days, and I can have his whole catalog + the old leaks on RU-vid & repeat & now my daughter loves Tupac’s music!
That always go under the radar... Pac taking Biggie and Lil Cease gun charge and not snitching. People need to know about that! That shows how solid Pac was man!
Get off pac nuts. The industry made pac. Pac wasn’t a thug. Pac was crying like a bitch when he was going to jail. Pac was smarter than the average person so he knew the laws. This fool talking is a nobody than and a nobody now
Wack100. That grandpa corny. Let me hear him say anything negative about the white old men owning the record labels, owning black culture, robbing black artists. Let me hear him say anything negative about the satanic music industry. He won’t but these public black figures never have a problem going at eachother
Man Delray Richardson is the best interviewer on this channel lol. He owned this video. So articulate and well spoken and tell his stories so vividly. And 2pac owned legal guns he had his own gun license. And those officers who were bothering the dude who 2pac shot at. Were intoxicated (drunk) he described the right of explaining what "gangster" meant other than the misconceptions of it. 10/10 video like always from him
@@bedstuydaytona3249 it's true tho Big was also supposed to be part of thug life and Pac was pushing Bad Boy in the beginning too, but when shit hit the fan they left him in the dark.
Thats why pac was so mad with biggie. I always say even if pac didnt get robbed and shot but still went to jail. Biggie, stretch and others left pac. They wasnt fuckin wit em they thought he was washed.smh sad miatake and u dont leave ur homie like that who has been doing everything he could going above and beyond to help biggie get on and then they left em bad in jail.
Tupac wasn't fake. That's why so many people could relate. There are so many fake a$$ rappers nowadays it's hard to keep track. But Pac kept it real to the end. R.I.P to the G.O.A.T
The most gangsta thing 2pac ever did was keep his word! Not too many people these days can do that in any situation whether its word for your family, friends, homies, or enemies.... he never was 2 faced or played both sides! Real legend!
- 2Pac fight for Biggie to preform before his debut album dropped and Biggie backstabbed him - 2Pac defended Snoop when Biggie had his trailer shot up and supported his court date hearing and Snoop backstabbed him
Delray Richardson is a very articulate real, and loyal, friend too tupac shakur hands down we need more black brothers like him to rep pac's memory. One love bro 2pac for life.
You need people like this bro when you can't speak for yourself. A true friend which is rare these days and very rare in the black community without any hidden agenda on why their defending you. A true friend 4real
He wasn’t a gangster as in he didn’t grow up GANG BANGING…Tupac was always a street dude who was from the gutter. You gotta think he was from the east coast and there were no bloods or crips out here like that. People try to say pac “wasn’t gangster” implying that he was a fake tough guy which is further from the truth. Pac wasn’t no bitch, he was beating guys up, he busted his gun and he was real. He stood for what he believed in
How long has it been since PAC’s murder? It’s crazy how he said “ I’ll never die” it’s hits harder now I remember back then.. I’m 37 now... and he’s still talked about. and now my kids know and learned about him so that’s another Generation that’s his Legacy passed down. Just a real special dude. Love Live PAC!!!!
You can be a Gangster or whatever you want in life. But the most important thing you must take serious. Is being a real one and that was Tupac. That what's separated Pac from ever rapper in his generation.2Pac was a man Period!
2 pac is highly respected as a musician by me, but one thing he was neva a gangsta... period... pac even says it himself... Tupac didn’t get no charge for guns when he got shot... He told on all them songs, dry snitching... the more you truly look into Tupac he may have even had been a plant... much love...
@@discrij6073 the interview says Tupac was a g cuhs he didn’t tell on biggie and them bout the guns... not sure what you getting at but Tupac was a mark when it comes to hang banging... thug life niccas was crips... either way it goes my name is true blue from San Diego 30’s... and I stand on that...
Delray is by far the best interviews on this platform! He tells it like it is, he doesn’t fabricate stories to enhance the legacy of Pac and he doesn’t throw people under the bus. If he doesn’t know the specific details of a situation, he puts a disclaimer on his answers. He’s genuine.
Delray has ability to speak but moreso he has the intelligence to take a complex idea and shine a spotlight on all angles with ease....always a good interview.
Pacs downfall was just rolling with cats that weren’t as solid as him. As far as him being gangster, he wasn’t but he was a real one/stand up guy. Just those gangbanging dudes didn’t respect his gangster because they were born in it and they felt like pac didn’t start being hard til he was signed he was just a rapper to them
I agree with you to an extent. Pac got mixed up with darker and more street hardened forces than himself willingly because to me he was rebelling from his panther/drama school upbringing (he felt that his mother ending up on crack was a travesty the panthers shouldn't have let happen and he suffered a lot of fucked up circumstances coming up) so he wasn't truly being himself imo. The case he caught and went to jail for is highly debatable too. He brought a lot of the drama he endured on himself. However, he certainly did real shit by way of taking care of his people and I think had he lived he would've grew much more into the beacon of light for his community he was raised to be. He was only 25 and was still fucking up the great responsibility placed on his shoulders. He said a million times that his life wasn't easy. Let's try and view our heroes with a 360° view and a little more empathy. The idolatry created from the hype machine designed to make money creates idealized images doesn't tell the more human truth in my eyes.
@@OnlyUknow2 I’m sorry no disrespect but pac wasn’t gangster at all. He was an entertainer. Yes he took care of his family and didn’t snitch that’s real one/ stand up guy shit. A gangster is a hitta someone that wakes up everyday ready to go the field and put in work everyday. He didn’t start his life putting in work. Orlando Anderson was being investigated for multiply homicides and had been down with his set. Pac went to death row because they were the only ones that could hold him down the way he needed to be. Pac was a loyal dude but he underestimated how gangster the gangbanging shit gets and that’s why he got murked
Tupac was greater than any gangster image. Him not being a gang member means nothing. He was greater than those street boys who only knew gangbanging and had no ambitions beyond the streets.
I really FEEL this interview, not so much the questions, but yet the response to the questions! This brotha said it more clear than any other I've heard or believed. #keepkeepingitreal
Pac was a madman, a gemini, a split personality, you never know who you was dealing with. You could label him anything, because he was, depending who you ask.
I've learned a lot from watching your platform, not just what's going on in the industry but life lessons 💯. Thank you Brother and your guest's for this 👌🏾🔥👆🏾🙏🏾💪🏾💯
To be fair, 2Pac was too emotional and a little naive. Naive in the sense that he genuinely believed that the street guys he frequently hung with genuinely cared about his political/revolutionary aspirations. Even Live Squad/Young Gun associates admitted that they weren't particularly interested in Pac's activism, they just wanted to get to that entertainment money. Pac had a lot of people around him that shouldn't have been and it was because he wanted the approval/support of guys that were REALLY active in the streets.
@@dugnice to further his big project The biggest obstacle was the street guy He was targeting them. They decide what happens I do same ...but with 10 steps backs or social distance mentality
Tupac was extremely honest loyal and transparent about everything. And he expected it in return from his friends. And when they didn’t reciprocate, it really hurt him. On an extremely deep level!
The Art of Dialogue always bringing us the truth about Pac & brothers that articulate Tupac how we as fans have experienced him. Much love & respect, continue upholding the legacy of a true King.
I never understood why people said Tupac wasn't real or a gangsta or he only started acting tough when he got with Deathrow Records , when shot two off duty cops before Deathrow Records and he always kept pistols with him before joining Deathrow Records
Well said. 2pac is as gangster as gangster can get. He was also a amazing person with love in his heart as well as merciless militant rage for justice and equality for his people. He was sent to us by god for a mission which he passed with flying colours, there is only one Tupac Shakur. And we will never see his like again
I'm so glad you laid out the definition of a gangsta.... John Gotti never shot anyone. Gangsta means you truly handle your business and stand by your word. Gangsta don't mean murder.
The more i read up on Pac and learn more about him the more i think of what a real one he was. All these haters saying pac was fake or a fraud but i have never heard a story of Pac backing down or being punked. Yes he wasn;t a gangster but who says you have to be a gangster to be a man tho? Just because you aint shooting and harming your own community does not mean your a pussy. The fact that pac shot two off duty cops and defended a man that was being beaten, a man that he didn;t even know should tell how much a real one he was. The only people that hate on 2pac are jealous and insecure people. Hating on a real one to feel better about their lame selves. They hate his charisma, intelligence and talent. All these New York people trying to prop up DMX to the same level as 2pac and no disrespect to DMX, he was a great rapper but he was dopefiend strung out on drugs lol, he aint no pac. Even tho he is gone some people are still intimidated by pac and his legacy. Most rappers like nas, biggie etc are not gangsters but rap about gangsta shit and no one says shit. People are jealous of Tupac people im telling you lol. How come gangsters like Monster kody says tupac was a real one but most of these internet weirdos that never even met the guy say he's a fake lol. FOH
This brotha did the math. Big Ups 👍🏾👍🏾✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿He's the best to speak on Pac cause it makes common sense... common. Receipts, senseful, and bound by respect.....a tru G
I could listen to this cat talk all day, very smart, direct & to the point. Never go by a person's word, you go by their action & deeds. #Salute my brotha & R.I.P. 2pac.
People question pac gangster because they resent how easy he entered into the street life as a leader he didn’t start thugging until he hit the music industry but I don’t see that as him being a fake gangster I see that as pac adapting to his surroundings,
I was waiting on this question to be asked & answered by the right person SALUTE to your channel I'm a subscriber as of now& LOVE HONOR RESPECT 2 this BLACK MAN speaking up for TUPAC HIS GANGSTER WAS REVELOUTIONAR & REALER THAN MOST
