Thank you, you're a life saver! Hulu didn't license the song, and it was a huge disappointment because I was really looking forward to seeing this scene again. Really made my night to find it here.
I have had this scene and this song in my head for 27 years. Never thought to look it up on You Tube. Love the Isley Brothers. Had huge crush on Dana Delany. Magnum PI, China Beach and even in car commercials.
Same, exactly as you said, I wanted to be the cigarette of Dana Delaney, just for being in her lips!!!,...and I was 17, today at my 52, I would do it again, but ...I CAN'T. Damn it!!!!!!!!
I had a great taste when I was kid. Moonlighting was one of my favorite shows. And I was IN LOVE with David Addison and Bruce Willis. And that never changed! This Old Heart of Mine still gets me - one of my favorites songs and I heard it first in this episode. Great times, great times.
Every second of this clip, leading up to and during the kiss and embrace, is so unbelievably romantic it gives me butterflies, and females from 12 to 120 know exactly what I mean.
I was already head over heals with Bruce when this aired. He was the ultimate in cool when he pulled up in that convertible, playing this song. I just know he picked it, loving music the way he does. This song became my favorite. Thanks so much for posting this!
God, I remember this episode! Dana Delany in that white shirt and the Isley Brothers in the background...burned into my brain!! Discovered so much good music through this show.
Thanks for uploading my favourite Moonlighting scene. As has been commented on many times, this song too reminds me of this scene. He was so cool with his BMW 635 and she was sooo beautiful, especially to a teenager.
That song always remind me of this scene. I luv it. "This old heart of mine, 've been broken thousand times...". This scene should be used as footage for a video of the song.
I saw this scene 20 years ago and Isley Brothers "This old heart of mine" always reminds me of this scene. And now I'm seeing it again. When I saw this scene the song, Dana and "David" were the best. There are a lot of scenes in this show and others shows like this that will be for ever in our head, soul, and heart: Magnum P.I., The wonder years, Northern Exposure, Cheers, Miami Vice
One of my most favorite Bruce Willis scenes ....this is when I fell in love with him....only one man in my life, made me weak at the knees like that....it does happen...this was so real.
I just saw this episode on Hulu and the song has been replaced. Its called "Slow Down a Dial" by Wesley Bright. Due to licensing issues, it had to be replaced. The song is absolutely perfect. For the scene between Jillian and David.
Thank you SO MUCH for giving me the name of that song. For me, it was so much more appropriate for that romantic, sexy scene (until it became murderous). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-19ZkNgviTAE.htmlsi=dZ20JaPiwWP6c58V
Yeah, but sadly on Hulu they replaced "This Old Heart of Mine" with some song I never heard and is a real let down after loving this scene the way it originally aired with this Isley Brothers' classic song. Glenn Gordon Caron said they got "90%" of the songs from the original series cleared for Hulu. Sadly, this song obviously was in the 10% (along with Stones' songs) that they didn't get.
I'm such a sucker for this scene. I'll take it off my favorites for a while, then put it back on ... there is nobody sexier than Bruce Willis in this scene!
Same, exactly as you said, I wanted to be the cigarette of Dana Delaney, just for being in her lips!!!,...and I was 17, today at my 52, I would do it again, but ...I CAN'T. Damn it!!!!!!!!
I'm listening to This Old Heart of Mine, which always makes me think of this scene. Loved Moonlighting as a kid and this episode started my love of the song. And so many moments (especially 1:15-2:30) are so sexy. Bruce always had a way of looking at a woman that's just....damn.
... I had watched every episode of Moonlighting from the start and thought Bruce Willis was cute and very funny, but I never considered him to be sexy until this episode. Surprise! ... thought my heart was gonna leap out of my chest :) I've been a goner ever since.
Nicely structured scene-including perfect choice of music-in what is an interesting though not outstanding episode. Memorable aspects of this episode include this scene and the climax a chase featuring a limo, a hearse and maybe a dozen other cars. If this works, it is largely due to Dana Delany's performance which is quite effective here.
This scene still completely rips me apart inside 25 years down the track. For me, Its probably in the best 3 romantic scenes ever made along with the Raiders boat scene and Han Solo and Leia in Empire.
I wonder when they filmed this if they knew how iconic and memorable it would be for so many people. I was around 12 and I thought Bruce was the coolest and smoothest guy on TV.
O.k. from 1:30 to 2:20 this is all about David Addison/Bruce Willis. This man had it going on in the 80's. Look at how he looks at her. He's a natural. He coulda had anything he wanted from me. Then we he grabs her hand and caresses it with his thumb. I just about died. But wait, theres more...he looks at her and says C.mere! That was it. I was done. I'll never get over this scene. Bruce Willis is an excellent actor.
There was only one time in my life that a guy kissed me that way and I actually went so weak in my knees, if he hadn't held me I would have fallen....and whenever I hear "This Old Heart Of Mine" now I always think of this scene...the way he looks at her, and says C'mere and oh that kiss......
@lopezciruelo My sentiments exactly. I've loved this song ever since I saw this scene. I generally never cared for Willis' acting but this scene is just HOT! He and Delaney totally rock this song and scene. I still can't get it out of my head 20-plus years later. One of my all time favorite scenes.
Wow. I'd forgotten about this. Too bad that biopic of Louise Brooks that Dana wanted to star in never came about. She was perfect for it. This whole scene could've been an audition for it! Crafty story, this one. Good writing.
Dana Delaney's guest shot here on "Moonlighting" was every bit as stunning as Bruce Willis' guest performance on "MIami Vice" a few years earlier. You just knew a major star was being born before your very eyes. I always felt there were at least a dozen other actresses who could have played the role of Maddie as well as Cybill Shepherd, but Bruce Willis was irreplaceable as David Addison.
Thanks for take me off 35 years, at least for a moment, with this video. As a non native English speaker I've spent years trying to know what said Dana Delany when she throw the cigarette end; I'm not sure if he text says: All my own vices have be conversed/s, or "All my own vices has become verses". Somebody Can Help me?
Dana Delaney reminds me a little of Anne Hathaway... Or visa-versa. I want to like this episode because it's a good plot and good acting, but I just hate seeing David even caring about someone other than Maddie lol. I wonder if they got the name Gillian Armstrong from the director.
