Donna might overreact and get dramatic over stuff but she was right about this one. She did have that cat for a long time and a pet's death can affect someone. I was just shocked she forgave him that fast.

If I was Kitty, I would have suggested that Eric confess to Bob and Midge first and ask for advice from them as well because they know Donna better. And in the end, he'd also just have to tell her and apologize and tell her he understands she's upset and he feels guilty but it was an accident and he would never do it in purpose.

That's terrible advice. Bob and Midge are complete dense anvils of human beings, and would have alerted Donna via their highly volatile reaction to this news before Eric had the chance to tell her, which is the main point. Eric needed to tell her first, or else it would look worse.

Also pretty sure this comes after the episode where Bob finds out about the birth control canonically, so he already has beef with Eric. Donna needs to forgive him first and make amends before Bob and Midge can.

As a man that accidentally killed 2 dogs over a 3 day weekend, all I can say is, shit happens. The first was a 13 year old Chihuahua. Running and playing with us as we threw a baseball around. The ball hit the dog on the head and the dog immediately went unconscious. An hour later it started convulsing and it died. The second, was after work driving home at 11:30pm. Black dog. 🤷

It's funny that Red was had the darkest sense of humor in this situation and then he tells Eric to say it with a straight face. But it's not funny because I love cats and I felt bad for Mr. Bonkers when he died and Eric felt guilty about it too. He shouldn't have lied though.

It's how the situation is handled. Also, defenseless creatures die everyday and cats of a certain age know cars are dangerous and still tempt fate. Shit happens and humor can be found in literally anything.
