I worked in IT at a hospital in Texas. Late one evening I was replacing a toner in the ER admissions and the waiting room was completely empty. I'd never seen it without any patients. I looked at the ER clerk then looked at the waiting room and back at her and she said "don't say anything". Just as I finished installing the toner and was about to leave, a drunk man walked in with his white t-shirt covered in blood. That ER clerk gave me the meanest look ever. I just sheepishly smiled and told her to have a good night as I left.
I love how the word ‘quiet’ how it become the major businesses; hospital, firefighter, etc bad luck. Never say the ‘q’ word is not so business hours of work.🤣
In the Philippines, nurses and doctors knew that you should never eat "Pancit" on duty and never say "its quiet here". Its like asking the quiet Sea to give you Tsunami.
@Kam Adrian Pancit is a noodle, a LONG noodle. Its kinda like saying you want a long string of incidents to keep piling up. Its also why we believe if you serve food during a wake it must never have any noodle food or else that long string noodle is gonna be a stream of more funerals.
Goes for the billing side too 😒 we like it when the phones/pt’s/ and insurance are well behaved. Claims get paid with little resistance. Computer systems are awesome…then when someone says the Q word….it’s Lord of the Flies and Survivor. Send them home immediately 😩
It's a superstition thing. Everyone has one, you see it in sports and here in this show. Says a certain line, makes a prayer, has a certain pin on before they go into a surgery, that sort of thing. It's a routine to ensure a good day. When you have a bad one or too many bad surgeries, Addison makes coco to get rid of the bad juju. Bottom line, don't mess with people's routines or superstitions.
