I built these chaise lounges. And I love them! I based my measurements on 3 inexpensive outdoor cushions from a big box store, but I would now like to redo the cushions. My plan is to buy foam long enough for 1 cushions (instead of 3) per base and sew covers using outdoor fabric.

I must add this to my list of builds! I was just telling my husband about building some outdoor furniture! To seal it, I was thinking of using Marine Spar varnish for wood. I want these to last a long time:) Thank you again for sharing your builds.

Check out the wood whisperer. He did a video on different finishes and results after a year or so outside. His conclusion was the same as my experience. A penetrating oil works the best for less $ and easier application. We have Adirondacks that are a decade old that look like new. We clean and do a light oil rag wipe every couple to few years.

The most expensive and difficult part of chair builds is buying and finding the cushions in the correct size. Beautiful chairs. I would definitely go with cedar as fir is going to be pretty heavy I imagine.

Anna, I love all of your designs and they always work for most people. However, I also loved those build videos of the house, garage, cabin, etc. The ones you have been making lately are simple furniture style building projects. I recommend glue. When I build a prototype, I generally don't use it in case I need to reconfigure on the fly! I need to be sure that I am putting out the best version of a plan, sometimes that takes some rebuilding in the process.

In a web browser, just underneath the first picture, there is a red/pink printer icon. If you click it, a print dialog box opens. You can print the whole project or just the pages you want. This is how it works for me on Google Chrome. I hope this helps. Happy building.
