Usually don’t let my stuff get that low. Didn’t plan on taking camper to wife she was supposed to haul it with her vehicle but had flat so had to fix it and take it myself 🤦🏼♂️.
Awesome brother, thanks for posting this, good to know that a message did pop up and you where able to refill and the dash cleared. Yeah at 1/2 tank marker of DEF it takes 1 box =2.5 gal.
Thanks for the vid! I have a 2020 and this just happened to me and i filled up the def tank and cranked truck but messages still there. Had me worried i messed it up by running it too low! Hope my messages go away soon aswell!
Just brought home a 2021 HC 2500 HD gas. Traded in a 2011 2500 HD Duramax. When the DEF light shuts you down many miles from home it won't be as much fun making videos.
That generation Duramax had known issues with the DEF system. I’m well aware of it as I used to work for a dealership and saw them frequently. Things have gotten better since then, not perfect but much better. Either way thanks for watching and congrats on the new truck.
I am looking at the new 2022 and I am trying to decide on the 3.0 or the 5.3. With the price of diesel right now do you still think the 3.0 is a good buy over the 5.3? Like for mpg in the city and highway. Thanks!
Diesel in my area is only .20 more than gas. The torque and power on the diesel is far better than the 5.3. I still think the 5.3 is a great option but I’d pick the 3.0 every time if given the option. I’m currently trying to find one in a Yukon for the wife. Can’t beat over 30MPG going on a trip. If I get one of these trucks I'll get a rotopax system with some extra def and diesel fuel. I don't trust relying on the closest gas station for both if needed.
@@uptownautogarage6833 I'm surprised they haven't released one yet. They make one for the Nissan Titan XD diesel which is a more rare truck. Far more of these on the roads than the Titan...
I have a 2021 silverado RST Duramax got it from the dealership was 5 miles from DEF was filled along with the diesel and I am kind of curious my DEF screen is same as yours I have put in 1400 miles and DEF has not moved one bit is that normal ? I am wanting to know how many miles per DEF tank. Thanks
DOESNT SEEM TO MOVE LIKE FUEL GAUGE DOES. ITLL STAY THE SAME FOR HUNDREDS OF MILES AND THEN JUST DROP 2 BARS. NORMAL DRIVING WITHOUT TOWING IM GETTING 4,000-5,000 MILES ON A TANK OF DEF.
I usually buy it at the dealer(I work at a local one) when I’m out town and need some tho like to hit up the busy truck stops as theirs should be more fresh in my head as well.
