I know we’re all waiting for a proper carrier ship to come into SC, but the 890 with the ability to land on the hanger doors makes a somewhat fun substitute.
Test the cargo bay in the rear; last time I tried when they let us all have 890's as sub ships, I was able to easily fit 3 Pisces inside, 2 in that nook by the gravity sphere, and another one off to the side of the lift, but I suspect there's room for at least 5, scattered around the space.
Thank you for these detailed tests. You can also fit in a Vulture it turns out, but you have to park it while the hanger door is open and before it closes, you can turn it in during that time frame. LOL at the ending btw, Trolly Wins vs a 890 Jump :D
So the Freelancer and the Banu Defender will fit, but it requires some trickery: Open the hangar doors and fly the nose in first, then wriggle untill it does fit.
Hey Camural, the Eclipse can fit into the hangar better if you park it a little more cleanly. It is very sensitive to the angle. You can have an Eclipse in the hangar, and an arrow in the cargo bay. You can put another ship on the hangar doors too, whenever the 4th ship spawned stops despawning the first ship. (I have confirmed this myself)
You can fit a nomad inside the bay: I'm not entirely sure the hangar is tall enough through. You can also park a cutlass with the hangar lift up and I was able to quantum drive with it parked there, at least in 3.16.1
Zumzifero something changes a while ago. Ships like Valkyrie, Warden, Cutlass don't seem to get the gravity on the surface of an 890 anymore. They want to lift up and I have to use down trust to keep them on it. I am not sure if this would survive a quantum jump.
Hi again Camural, Freelancer and Freelancer MIS actually do fit in the 890. You need to lower the elevator then keep the hangar doors open. If you fly the Freelancer in this way, there is more than enough space for either. I have not tried with the Freelancer MAX but I doubt it fits.

(Or merci, if I've judged your accent correctly, heh) What I really wanna know though: when will CIG finally give us the functionality, as Captain/Owner of a vessel, say the 890 or Carrack, to order the "carrier"'s computer system to open the hangar for us when we approach in our runabout, so that we won't need a second player already onboard and ready to open it....

Love how the Mustang, being a started ship after all, barely fits. At the same time, one can easily carry 3 arrows on the 890. The Mustang will never be my kind of craft.
Well yeah the Mustangs have been perpetually cursed since launch; I mean how else do you explain that the one that actually had an interior goes from " it's a space RV!" To "its now a sterile prison cell"?
DoXLocK I haven't done this yet. Do you mean parking a ship in the 890 hangar, logging out in the 890 bed, logging back into the game and then your ship in the hangar is vanished?
the cutlass 100% does fit in, i have screenshot evidence, but you have to break the engines and wings off, which is easy to do. also thank you for doing an up to date 890 jump what fits video maybe you could do a what fits in the 890 jump cargo bay video one day?
@@Camural I would venture to guess that, as usual, they vetted the animations in an offline env or on their super duper LAN with 2 players as 100% ok (which they indeed were), but when they execute in the PU, the ultra shitty net code does its job to completely fuck up not just the animation, but first and foremost the actual positions of the virtual objects. And they are cheeky enough to call that a simulation (as in greatest Space Sim there has ever been). But at least there is some progression finally. I mean PES (well, it's technically done by a different company, Turbulent, not CIG) and new gameplay loops (well, it's just another beam minigame, but hey, what do you want for 500 mil USD, that's nothing compared to EA, so shut up and keep paying...)
tropicthndr actually you need the hangar closed. Doors and ramps auto-close when you go into quantum and you might be in trouble if the ship is too tall.
Pro Tip: When trying to fit larger ships such as the Eclipse, don't bother with the elevator. Just open the hanger doors and leave the elevator down. Then you can wiggle around in and out easier.
