My mom made me go to church i was devastated. But my mom made the right call God comes first:) but I did recorded it and I watched every game televised live after that 😊
Dude! My mom wouldn't let me skip Sunday School, and I remember my Sunday School teacher being like "let's dismiss early today for Brad." One of the greatest days of my life. I was 10.
LOL, the older people in the 90's used to hate the pro athletes from that era for being "unprofessional, overpaid, primadonnas, didnt care about winning, etc, etc". Face it, every single generation thinks that their younger days were "better".
I would give anything to have it back on NBC and Mike Breen gone. I am one of the few that cannot stand his ass. BANG! BANG! Always kissing the refs asses. I remember him calling New Jersey high school games in the 80s. Not sure how he got this NBA gig. lol
@@marcuscook2460hey no Mike breen disrespect shall be tolerated. His a legend. And I personally am a fan of “bang!” It gets my hyped. I hope nbc hires him if they go back to nbc
The music in the background is Bob Costas is talking is so breathtakingly emotional and then the vision of Jordan just concentrating on free throws with Bob Costas using words like artists and supreme and canvas it's like Michelangelo painting the Sistine chapel even with his immense talent still trying to get every bit of himself out of every stroke..... Jesus Christ you had to have been there...❤
This is amazing. NBA on NBC, starting with the first bulls 3peat, and ending with the lakers 3peat, was fantastic. Young people don't know what they missed.
I'll never forget this in my life we recorded the whole thing and everything about Jordan and bulls on VHS tapes about those championship games thank God for RU-vid to experience this again
You don't have to thank me but I broke a wishbone in my grandma's kitchen wishing for Jordan to return to the nba. Then MJ returned. I think I'm ready to break another wishbone because the nba hasn't been the same since he retired.
Bob Costas was there when Michael Jordan returned to the NBA. And it was blessing in disguise that he was the one who eventually called Michael Jordan's last hurrah as a member of the Chicago Bulls during the 97-98 season better known as "The Last Dance".
Damn, this is my childhood. So nostalgic. I truly miss the NBA on NBC. I will always remember this moment. I was a 5 year old child. But my older brother was six years older. I knew the game through my brother. This was one of my fondest memories of him. MJ coming back was like a holiday in my house. We truly loved him. I will never forget that. It was one of the greatest moments. I was lucky as a young kid to witness his airness. The second run will always bring about tremendous memories. Thank you Michael Jordan!
Dang I remember that when the NBA was more exciting than even the Olympics in 2021! I remember every Chicago Bulls game in the 1990's was treated like it was a gold medal event and I don't mean just the NBA Finals part but even regular season games with the Bulls was hyped up like the Olympics.
I remember fans and the media were treating this game like the NBA Finals because of Jordan's return. Of course we were all surprised that he struggled in his return.
I was 19 years old watching this game and I remember telling all my friends I told you he was coming back. Nobody believed me when he retired I said trust me one day he'll be back I knew it was a challenge for him which makes him the ultimate greatest to be able to walk away even become a decent baseball player AAA batting 245 and coming back and winning three titles amazing simply amazing
I remember that morning watching sports center while ironing my shirt for church and talking to my girlfriend on the phone. Then I heard those two words "I'm back". Yada yada yada shirt and suit went back into the closet
One of my favorite theme songs for any sports coverage, "Roundball Rock," composed by John Tesh as the theme song of NBA on NBC which aired from 1991 to 2002; and also used when Michael Jordan won six championships with the Chicago Bulls. Doing a good job playing that theme song, especially when I used to watch classic 90s NBA games...
I hope we can make young fans feel what a moment for the world that was and what incredible enthusiasm it brought everywhere. You could see newspapers and TV news here in Europe that never opened with sports news, and certainly not with the NBA, suddenly put basketball on their first pages. Kids going crazy in the schools. It was like a global explosion of excitement and anticipation, the best in the world was back, as Bob Costas said in this awesome intro.
When Michael Jordan came out of retirement in 1995 I went completely nuts when that news broke cause his wizardtly belonged on the hardwood not a baseball clubhouse plus those omg shots that was completely out of this world
In my grandparents basement, in Oak Lawn, IL.was out of church, but I was about to see a god. Everyone I saw this game with is dead, but I remember it like yesterday.
And thus, the prophecy is fulfilled, it's coming back in 2025!!! Soon enough, it's time to hear those great words again... THIS... IS THE NBA ON NBC!!!
Honestly Jordan is not only the greatest nba player of all time but he is the greatest athlete of all time because of his come back he completely dominated the sport and I think he was better before he retired the first time.
NEVER CARED ABOUT INDIVIDUAL SELFISH STATS IF SO HE NEVER WOULD HAVE RETIRED TWICE..SO ALL THE PEOPLE YALL COMPARE PLAYED LONGER BUT DOESNT MEAN UR BETTER..MJ>
That year the bulls didn’t win when Michael Jordan returned it was the year after cause Michael Jordan lost his edge for going to play baseball it made him not play as great he did I still remember those days the bulls without Michael they lost
@@johnbrowntheprophet you don’t know what it’s like when you stop doing something for a very long time then go back after a year it’s not the same as 1 weak one month when your going to play for MLB instead of NBA you can’t practice on both he forgot everything about basketball the day he started playing baseball his fault not the his teams fault
I remember this like it was yesterday because it was my first time ever going to a sports bar after I turned 21... That place was so packed just for this game
I was 10 yrs old me & my older brother who was 16 at the time we’re excited this was like nothing I’ve ever seen before or since...Growing up in the Jordan era was something truly special that impact that dude had was unreal & you would’ve had to have grew up in that era to know what I’m talking about...
When Michael Jordan returned back the bulls didn’t win Michael Jordan wasn’t that great that’s what happens when you stop playing for a long time I remember these days that’s why the bulls aren’t 8 champions only 6 time 3 years and then lost 2 years cause Michael Jackson left when he returned he wasn’t the same then lost again
@@daviddepillo7988 you read it 15 times and don’t know what’s the person saying maybe you didn’t watch the bulls in 1990’s to why you don’t know what’s the person talking about first go watch all the games you missed then comeback and reply to this comment
