This guide is incredible, I have talked about going a tornado shot character for a while, and this really helps a ton. Super pumped to grind currency for this build
This, its an actual problem getting mid - end game details on most guides. A lot of this information can be picked up over time but its great to see it all in one place. Thank you!
In POE: More/Less is multiplicative and increased:decreased is additive damage. Knowing this key detail changes all the computations when making a build and also lends to less confusion when actually doing the math and checking it against sources like POB. Great content my dood! Subbed. Def looking forward to more content.
You won't be the only one. I've been funding my casual gf iceshot every league since Harvest. From near mirror gear to starting at 10div. It hasn't succeeded but that's okay, I get to laugh at her trying every league 🤣
this is the best poe video i have seen in a while first time i understood something that well in forever, props to you my man. now i just need a lvl 1 to 100 pob guide to go with it lul
I’ll try my best to do that, I usually don’t use that approach (hideout warrior ngl). A bit busy with life. Will try to do a smooth experience levelling guide for u guys before league start.
Great video dude. Love to see detailed information for a build that I can aim for later on in the league, feels like there isn't enough of these when most videos are league start focused. Played Omni TS in the past but did not go for phys conversion on that build. This will come in handy if I want to re-do that build and push it further by going for phys.
This video is insane, like i never saw something like this on RU-vid, clear, smooth, pro, now we just need a levelling guide and an early progression in map with gems and gear for one day reach this kind of build, keep up man +1
I wouldn’t worry about league starting tornado shot honestly. You could very easily league start lightning arrow instead and then go into a god like TS build which is what a lot of people do
This video was insane dude. Best iv seen in a long time. Keep em coming im subbing. Going tornado next season so this is golden! Hope u do the same with atlas progression, farming strats aso. Cause this approach is the best iv seen :) ill be watching ur videos going forward. Starting to watch ur 1-100 guide now! Thumbs up!
19:30 this slide here has increased and more the wrong way around. More is always multiplicative (a*b) while increased is additive (a+b) to any increases. Also notable for newer players who might not know, "enemy TAKES increased damage" is not the same as "player DEALS increased damage" since they cannot be added together as they get calculated at totally different times. This means "enemy takes increased damage" does stack additively with itself, but it multiplies with your damage dealt. This is what makes sniper's mark super powerful because if this is your only source of "enemy takes increased damage" that is just as good as a "deal more damage" multiplier of the same size.
If im not mistaken the TS does in fact not get additional secondary projectiles by having additional arrows. The base amount is 3 and than can further be increased by 1 with the helmet enchantment. So if you have 1+4 arrows the maximum amount of secondary projectiles is 20 (if you are using the enchantment). The possible amount of hits per attack in this case is 6. That beeing said increasing the amount of arrows is always a good idea.
GMP (or other sources of additional arrows) does not scale the number of secondary projectiles per arrow. Only way to scale the number of secondary projectiles per arrow is the TS helm enchant. Also the initial arrow does do damage. You can test this in-game and it becomes more obvious with slower projectile speed.
TS secondary proj do NOT scale with extra arrows. The only way to increase that number is the helmet enchant. If what you said was true all bow gems in the game would be useless since TS + GMP would already trump everything in the game. It's 15 not 35 arrows with just GMP.
After 3 days, following this guide, I can say that is my ultimate reference to tornado shot build. I've played when poe was released and just re-installed after 6 years. 3 things: 1) link to the build 2) link to a gdocuments with copy-paste of subtitles downloaded from youtube (in order to find keywords) 3) defence, ok kill fast, but on shoot for the budget there's quite few points
Excellent build guide! With your explanations my understanding of Tornado Shot goes so much deeper. Phys to Cold! Yes, to me this is the key. Plus you showed an elegant solution for gaining Rage. With my TS build I can clear T16 maps easily. But THIS guide goes far beyond! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us. Wish you a beautiful day. 🙂 By the way, you are not the only one "Non-native English speaker" 😀
Content Update 3.23.0 -- Path of Exile: Affliction The Heatshiver Unique Helmet now has "Gain 30% of Cold Damage as Extra Fire Damage against Frozen Enemies" (previously 100%). Existing items can be made worse with a Divine Orb.
Good guide thank you. The amulet is not pronounced 'omni'-'science' in English. This actually becomes its own word that sounds like: aam-ni-shi-en-ts That last 'ts' sound has a kind of cut to it like how we pronounce the 's' in 'ants'. The 'tss' like a symbol on a drum set.
Mark on hit / Sniper's Mark / Enhance is a stand alone link it will apply the mark when you hit an enemy with an attack, mark on hit cannot support bloodrage steelskin or berserk.
You probably also should have mentioned the alt quality Blood Rage which grants charges on hitting unique enemies; with the arrow counts of high budget TS, you can easily sustain it on single targets. Nice guide btw.
I've watched streamers playing tornado shot well into leagues and i've never bothered trying for it always thinking it's out of reach. Love your explanations. Once I make currency gonna give it a try
The primary projectile does do damage. That's why people always say you need to aim right behind an enemy with TS. And the base max amount of frenzy changes is 3, not four. Otherwise a very nice tornado shot breakdown. As a fellow TS enjoyer, I approve 😅
The first arrow does deal damage, it hits and peirces. Go try it, have the monster beside you and shoot far away. The monster will get hit once before the secondary projectiles come back
@@mikoshomikoshi yea to maximize damage you're supposed to aim behind the monsters to get a free hit from initial arrow. (i've heard this long time ago from grimro i think)
First of all, thanks for all the explanation, very insightfull. I just have to point out that when u address berserk, u say "more" in path of exile is additive to the buff in question, but its actually multiplicative. And it has to be multiplicative to increase damage by 40% always, or else depending on the inicial buff, the increase would be different. Also, the increase is not 40% but 44%, because its 1.2x 2 times, or 1.2^2, and tjata 1.44x damage mult
First time trying TS after year after year of elementalist. Won't get the build right before 3.22 ends but at least I know what build will bring me joy next season.
Great stuff man, I have been playing poe pretty much since the start of the Alpha in 2011 when I saw a video Totalbiscuit (RIP) made about it, I still learned alot from this video, very well explained. Thank you.
Really loving this idea of a phys->cold TS character with hatred effect stacking, that said I did notice a few issues in the video which might make people more confused than they need to be: You're showing the old (stronger) version of omniscience with 1% per 10 but it's 1% per 15 now so your examples are a bit off, tornado shot the primary arrow (before the "tornado" bit) DOES do damage but you say it doesn't, you say max frenzy charges is base 4 but it's base 3, heatshiver you made it sound like the cold added as fire double dips on increased elemental damage mods but it doesn't (I think you knew what you meant but it came across not how you meant it probably), hypothermia's chance to freeze chilled enemies does nothing for this build as you're already at 100% crit chance and crits have 100% chance to freeze (hypothermia doesn't bypass the minimum damage to freeze). There were some other slightly incorrect things but they weren't anything that actually matters.
No problem :D really nice to see a TS giga build that's not all about flat added ele damage on every piece of gear, has me considering trying it some time this league@@mikoshomikoshi
Honestly as a TS player that spent quite a bit and was happy about their build (1,7 B dps) i looked at the vid and the big difference that causes you to have so much more dps is berserk but generating rage with the gloves implicit isn't really realistic for boss fights so yeah... btw if i swap one gem for berserk i get same dps (about 2,6B)
Hi, after reaching 2.5B dps, usually I would or go for 3.5 but get less defences or go back to 2 and get better defences. Sadly, I came late this league and did not have time to max out the gear etc. If you want to go even higher, mirror and only std (legacy) might be able to bring you to the 4B. If you are interested in scaling more than 3B let me know, but if I do make a video about it, it will be a lot later in league. For the dps during boss fights, gaining that amount of rage is indeed impossible (dies to quickly lol), I just showcased the max amount of dps output possible.
@@mikoshomikoshi Fair enough, always fun seeing big PoB numbers, i just felt like showcasing pinnacle atlas boss dps with 50 rage was irrelevant but whatever anyways as a f ing nerd myself i knew most of these TS concepts but always good having a reminder, great vid
Hey man! Great vid, this is really really in-depth. One thing I noticed really quickly though is that your volume on the video is really quiet - I had to double my master volume to listen to it at an audible level. Otherwise, this is the clearest explanation for high-investment scaling I have ever seen!
amzaing video bro , i only found your video after i spent alot of divines on uselss gems like ballista totem which felt really bad cuz the build should be hit and run, will change to right gems.
Very detailed guide gj, some errors tho. You dont affect the amount of 2ndary projectiles on ts outside of helmet enchant. u always fire 3(4). Initial arrow from ts can hit the target, and each initial arrow can hit the same target with 1 of their 2ndary projectiles. So if you have 8 arrows in total, best case scenario would be 8 hits from the 2ndary arrows. Not that it matters but, ur saying addative when its suppose to me multiplicative. Multiplicative is what we prefer, addative is the weaker one such as increased cold damage. I would also add projectile speed to the conversation, its very good all the way but especially with lower gear when u dont have 8 arrows, to have atleast 200% at the very least will make up for the lack of arrows. Without that ur clear will feel weaker. anywya good job! very nice to see a fellow ts enjoyer
You are using berserk in your POB cheesing up stats, with gloves rage gain on hit even 0.7s/50 it takes 35 seconds shooting non-stop in most perfect conditions to build up rage, the uptime of berserk itself will be insignificant. During the recovery period your DPS will tank that will offset the berserk boost. Berserk gem is a gem to put in POB if you want to show off double the real numbers of DPS. There are few builds that I have seen that can sustain it, via kaom gloves and massive hp regen items. Same thing about projectile distance how do you even calculate that? I have set it to 70 like you did ( and some other TS players ) and my dps numbers almost trippled. In reality though enemies come, spawn from all sides and often close as well.
Very insightful, the clearest explanation of damage I’ve seen in a PoE video. How would you recommend progressing a TS character all the way from league start to the levels you’ve shown in the video. Also, what do you think is the dps number we should shoot for if we don’t care about bosses. And what are the ways we can incorporate QoL / movement speed at the cost of some dps? What do you think of the kaoms setup, converting through the watchers eye and being ok w ~80% cold conversion and 20% random element conversion. I would also like to add queen of the forest. How would you recommend I incorporate such changes?
I think I’m going to make a progressing video soon if I have time but usually I tell to go ice shot (higher dps) and that would also mean not needing to re spec ur items/character once u go ts. The change could be anytime you feel comfy enough to change (I would aim one you get omni) For the kaom gloves: I’ve seen loads of player using it and I tried it myself, but I did not try a build around it. Although that means we get berserk up time pretty much at all times, I think that having life regen mods on certain gear instead of offensive or defensive mods will be not as strong. I think if you have a budget, that’s gloves are a fantastic option, as they give speed and damage and better survivability. I will look into that. For queen of the forest, you would use this for extra movement speed ? If so, you would need a ton of evasion, I think that increased aura effects and mama reservation efficiency are way stronger (you can put a haste aura) and have all the added bonuses of making hatred stronger as well as the rest of your auras and heralds. For speed, mb is the best, as a single well crafted flask can make you speedy. For more budget player, I think automatic flask can be useful as well as the haste aura.
Also for the dps needed without care of bosses If you just wanna run through maps, I would say 300k dps per arrow (hideout dps) If you want to do more juiced maps etc, 1M, as the mobs start to hurt and it’s better being able to kill them as fast as possible. I think these numbers might seem high, but if done correctly and items crafted by oneself, it should ba achievable to most players pretty easily. Hope this helps
Is there another way for cold conversion that would allow the use of Kaom's Spirit? And what exactly is the use of your Manaforged Arrow setup? You talk about how you have 100% crit chance so I don't see how the power charges help you and you will be at maximum Frenzy Charges long before Manaforged arrows trigger. And Mark on hit is not limited to the duration of Blood Rage or Steelskin. A two link setup of Mark + Mark on hit will also apply the mark (at least it did so last league when I ran Poacher's Mark + Mark on hit)
You can not get full cold conversion without gloves (you can get full conversion itself tho from anomalous TS) this will reduce the dmg u gain from hatred
@@mikoshomikoshi you got my sub for a great video. Just thought that it was weird that we have the same person friended 😂😂😂😂 please keep up the conte not and bring people into the light on Tornado shot
Crystallised Omniscience is roughly 15 divines right now. To give you some context, most builds I end up making are sub- 10 divines. So basically on a budget this build is simply not viable. This is a 25+ divine budget build.
Pretty sure your ts gmp interaction math is wrong. Additional arrows does not add secondary projectiles, only primary. If you have no additional arrows and no enchant, you would have 1 primary and 3 secondary. If you use gmp you would have 5 primary and 15 secondary (in total). If these 15 only 5 could hit the boss.
Just earned a sub, although I am coming close to 1k hours on PoE, my knowledge is superficial at best, and still many easy builds I don't entirely understand how they work, except when I have XYZ items or passives I do what the guide says I'd do
Ye i got it, only problem is that with 3 mirror budget almost every single build can push the dmg to billions. The guide is fair and good. The true guide teach you how to play the game at normal level with reachable currency. Not mirrors. I love TS, and thid video is good, but kinda little bit missleading. You dont need mirrors to melt everything in the game.
Making a guide on how to go from acts to the mirror tier. The first video is up, 1005 SSF viable to go through acts, second one will showcase how to go to t10 maps. I really thought I would get no views lmao, but I've had many ppl asking to make a build from scratch. The second video will be up tonight or tmr. ty for the feedback!
The guide is really detailed man, thanks for this, I'm looking to either transition from LA to TS or create a new character altogether. In terms of feedback I would say: - try to fill less space with uh, uhm and such. - when you mess up something (like pronunciation or you read something wrong) re do it. That is more video than guide related and in no way mandatory but I feel like they would make the quality go up.
Great guide. Would be interesting to get a priority upgrade check list. I assume if you get a mirror (and have MB and basic gear) you'd probably mirror a phys bow first right? Whats next then? Also: what type of content would you suggest farming with a character that is this stacked? Crimson Temple MFing wouldnt work, since it difficult to incorporate enough MF into the build. So what other high div/h strategy would you use?
Can you please make a PoB for this? Doesn’t need to be extensive. Just the leveling sequence for the tree and skills would be sufficient with this great video.
Guys, what would u do with 60 divs budget? From the video I understand Omni is mandatory, but what should I go for next? The triple T1 attributes rings? The 60% conversion gloves? Body Armour? Bow and Quiver? Gems?
The intro is top tier :D The guide is bait, though. The build cannot be done on any budget. Tornado shot never been a budget build and the phys to cold conversion even more so. And the budget versions are way different, compared to the high-end ones.
Yea, kinda what I said tho, but I have a build series on how to make a ts character from lvl 1-100, u should look at it, for anyone’s budget. Let me know what you think.
@@mikoshomikoshiyeah, i understand this was more of a clickbait thing. but i was kind of expecting something else from this vid. like how to play ts in general on "any budget". But it turned out to be a guide for the endgame version. I guess the next series of videos shows more in depth on how to build TS. I'm not interested in TS this league, but I have watched the part 4 vid, it seems nice and explains what to do and how to move on a budget. Past leagues, i used to watch fuzzy duckzy a lot. he has a lot of great vids how to do ts and bow on a budget with detailed guides on how to even craft each single piece of gear. Your guides seem to be similar in terms of extensive explanations, which is nice :)
What's the tech with hypothermia to proc heatshiver? Isn't this supposed to be crit anyways? Also, increased elemental damage doesn't "also apply to the extra fire damage from heatshiver", it only applies once
@@mikoshomikoshi That's not how freeze works. This is a crit build dealing upfront cold damage, it has 100% innate chance to freeze, getting 120% doesn't do anything. U sure there's no better damage support?
@@Darkxellmc hypo is a massive dps boost against chilled enemies. Most mobs will instantly die, but Uber bosses might not (depends on dps). They will most of the time be chilled, hypo is then the best when using heatshiver.
After playing blind on my first 2 characters doing my own thing and getting stuck on lv 12 maps I decided to follow a build. As people said "FoLlOw A bUiLd"... So I did havent died so much in the campaign ever and get 1 shotted from everything in the first map. I guess this one is for me.
honestly youve done an amazing job covering literally everything you need to know! fantastic job sir! btw - is there any sort of avaliable POB? cant seem to find it! thanks again
Not great at crafting so I need help, how did you get 60% convert to cold damage on the gloves? Because I’m seeing that it’s not a normal explicit. You would have to influence the glove to get that explicit. But influenced items can’t have eater of worlds implicits on them right? How did you do it?
Ensnaring arrow doesn't work with tornado shot and sniper's mark. You are just piercing everything and it drops somewhere offscreen or never drops. You should use energy leech or life on hit support there instead.
100% crit multi = same damage as before, 200% multi = 2x damage (or 200% damage). the critical damage multiplier is what its called a multiplier to your damage, there's no complicated math around it.
23:29 wrong at the basic with hypohermia, it's just chance to freeze, which you are always at 100% because of crit. It's not 20% flat chace to freeze stuff that is chilled Edit: for who dont know, chace to freeze doesnt mean you will freeze, it's just you can, you still need to deal a booooom hit to reach ailment threshold to freeeze
Thx for feedback. Maybe explanation was not clear, but most will not reach 100 crit with a big boom of dmg. Also, after reaching 100% crit, hypo does a big dps boost against bosses as they might get chilled and it’s basically a huge amount of dps fora longer period of time. Thx again tho !
Minor correction. You said Berserk gives 40% damage increase - it's more like 44%. Example : 100 damage with 1 attack per second. = 100 DPS 100 damage with 20% more attack damage with 1 attack per second = 120 DPS (20% increase) 100 damage with 20% attack speed gets you to 1.2 attacks per second = 120 DPS (20% increase) - So 120 damage at 1.2 attacks per second = 144 DPS (44% increase) But so far it seems like the rest of the math checks out.. Good video.
This build is amazingly well thought out and presented! The only thing that bothered me was how you pronounced Omniscience. The pronunciation of it is broken up as Om-Nis-Cience. The sound when saying the word is Om-Nish-Ents. I'm not belittling you or anything. A lot of people pronounce it incorrectly.
i appriciate the honesty though. he admit that this build if you have no budget it's not that good like other people make it to be. maybe if i have enough currency ill try this build but dam mageblood is 170div right now
Hi, making a video series from scratch if you want to check that out. We are now at around 1-5 div budget, next video will be mid budget. And it works !
Just watched this video. You just earned yourself a new followe/sub. Currently playing LA and as of now saving up for a Headhunter. But when i saw this video i thought about if i should switch over to omni TS instead of buying headhunter. I currently have 65 divines . What are your thoughts?
Hey, 65 div is plenty ok, especially if you already have La (hopefully with omni already). I suggest u get omni if not, and switching to omni I say costs the price of omni +10-20 div for better gear and omni gear (if you use hyrri chest, keep it until phys to cold convert).
My main criticism would be that I don't think this video is really for anyone. Youre explaining a very high investment build and talking about how omni works. Who with a mirror of currency doesnt understand mark on hit, for example? The folks who need an explanation of why TS is a good skill and how it works would want to see the very low budget build. The video is well made and you explain things well but there is a mismatch
Hi, this video uses the mirror tier build to show what the build should aim for. Not having mirrors doesn't mean you cannot try to copy it. I've explained what gear you should go to first. I am currently working on videos to showcase from lvl 1- 100 the gear profession. hank for the criticism, will maybe try to give an explanation before the video for those with a lower budget.
Becuase mirrors are not hard to farm, any of emyrian gaming's videos on low investment mapping make like 40 plus div in profit in 100 maps this is alch and go or low investment, it just takes dedication and acjtlaly playing the game even looking at your own gameplay you will notice how long you actually sit in your hideout instead of just killing stuff
@@i_lunarralso just playing the game you learn to farm. 5 leagues ago I didn’t get to yellow maps and now I normally have MB or HH by day 3. Experience is everything in PoE
