Whether you introduce yaw from firing the Inferno gun, or not would depend on the location of the Center of mass, which may, or may not be along the center line of the geometry. In fact, with artificial gravity, in theory, the center of mass can be where ever you like. If the center of mass was along the gun, no yaw would be introdu ed. Now, having said that, thruster placement is symmetrical, which means either gun placement is problematic or thruster placement is problematic, or both, and something will have to be heavily compensated for to get the ship to perform.
Or they were just lying when they said they were going for realism, and all those years they wasted on the flight control system model and reaction thruster balancing was just that - wasted effort discarded when it got (predictably) too hard for them to stick with.

While I don't mind the crawlspace in the MSR (I could in at least one occasion stole somebody's MSR by hiding there), I agree with the bad design of not adding a secondary ingress point to the Spirit (and many other ships). The Spirit could have a entry hatch with extendible staircase at the front landing gear, right below the corridor. I dislike how CiG always shows amazing ship concepts and then delivers something rather hideous instead (the BMM so far, the Hull C, etc).
@LordCritish it is a Christopher Roberts game! Ships need fancy cool cinematic moving, sliding, rotating seats! A secondary entrance is of no concern! Having to leave the center section of the cargo area clear so that out Michelin Man players and NPCs can make it into the cockpit is a fine trade-off for moving seats! (Which would also be a major hazard, we could lose our limbs)
Another thing about the tumbril storms, they put the driver right in front so he can be easily killed. It makes no sense. Even today, we are moving crew farther back into armored compartments.
The Starfarer is actually my favorite ship. Maybe one day I'll be able to say that without people laughing. I love the design and the premise but man does it need an overhaul.
for how massive the wingspan of the c1 is it's suprising they didn't manage to sqeeze atleast another 32scu container in the middle with side walkways, especially when you consider that it was originally only designed to hold 48scu, but that may explain the weird layout since it originally probably was meant to hold 3 x 16 scu containers in the middle instead of 2x 32 to the sides. For comparison the Zeus MKII CL is roughly the same lenght and height but 25% less wide and yet it somehow holds more than double of what the C1 holds. They knew that having no secondary exit is a big issue ever since the MSR which they even wan't to add another exist to and yet they made the same mistake on the C1 for the sake of the rule of cool.
At concept, the Ranger was advertised as the "small vehicle that can fit anywhere". It never got a chance to wear it's crown.....it was never released!
Probably the most sad ILW I've ever attended to (I didn't even load the game today). Just a teased Polaris that players are lured into buying (but won't be flyable without a crew) and a medical ground vehicle that will be useless in a few months. I also have a Retaliator Bomber bought in game for several millions aUEC, that suddenly became empty and without torps or modules.
when people get mad at me for saying CIG are clowns for still making the same mistakes as they did 12 years ago. I simply ask them, how many years and billions of dollars does it take for you to say ok this is bull shit?
CIG should've put a thruster on the opposite side of the Ares that solely engages when you fire the big gun, to atleast make up for the logical flaw of that asymetrical design. About refueling...shall we make bets, that CIG will bastardize the refueling mechanic in a way that it becomes superfluous because they will have put enough stations around most systems you will never run out of fuel unless your purposefully provoke it?
I upgraded mine to an Apollo medivac since I play on going all out on medical once it's expanded. Also appreciate the loaner cutty red so I get to enjoy some respawning for the next few months
Had a fun one today. Limping my half destroyed ship to a landing pad on Daymar at 30 with the gear down and it randomly detonates with nothing nearby. Crime stat and respawn halfway across the system lmao
I thought it was just me, with how the game just stops rendering for a few seconds every so-often. My rig isn't as good as yours, but it's no slouch. (10700K @5.3ghz,32GB ram, 990SSD, 3090) What i noticed being at the expo today; is that i saw no other play there. In the 4 previous years I've been at the expo there's always been many players running around at all times. Sign of changing times perhaps ?
@NL0Gwenster I think most players are giving up trying to get into the game atm: 1. Long load times, I spend between 3 and 8 minutes in the loading screen 2. Often elevators in area 18 don't work 3. Crashes to desktop 4. Game stutters in the expo halls, every 10-30 seconds game freezes for 1-6 seconds. Yes on very high end PCs too. 5. The switch to today's ships was delayed by 2 hours CIG is so "professional", they even fock up one of their biggest sales events. I am sure Chris wants more money. If I wouldn't want to make a video, I wouldn't have tried to get into the expo halls. Took me 2 hours to record this.
the moment i realised that shields nerfed ballistics a fair bit i knew the inferno was fked. now all my full balistic ships have some lasers to take down shields, poor inferno doesnt get that option
Why give an 'info runner' a smuggling compartment? Why advertise a ship as having s smuggling compartment? Why even build a ship with a smuggling compartment? How is that legal? Surely the empire would be upset about that. And of course it doesn't even hide contraband or wanted players from detection.
@mabs9503 why? Because this is a Chris Roberts game. Eye-candy, fluff, time sinks, cool cinematic are all Chris cares for. Function and making a fun game play no role for Chris.

This whole patch isnt ready.. ships blowing in hangars.. lags... cant login or loading times up ro 30 mins.. inventory sometimes dont load... and medicgameplay ded.. flight model broke.. new player cant do bounty cause more than one enemy and aimbot... mission payout is crap.. salvage ded
