This guitar is smaller but it packs a lot of value! This three quarter size acoustic electric classical guitar from Vangoa features a built-in tuner, excellent fit and finish, plus it comes with a gig bag and accessories! All for around $120.

A 3/4 and a parlor are not the same thing. Parlors have a similar body size (a little more oblong shape)but a full scale length around 25" where 3/4's have scale lengths around 22.5".

I have a 3/4 size myself, and it is much easier to play in tight spaces, as well as just being generally easier. I like shorter scale stringed instruments, since I mainly play mandolin.

Dan, from Guns and Guitars, sent me this model in his Gift-Away. I didn't realize that it was 3/4 until I received it and compared it to my classical, but I still am digging it. It's a righty, so I tuned it to an open D and am playing it upside-down and oriented so that I can fret with my right hand. For me, having instruments with varied scale lengths provides more options for making music since each has its own unique character.
4 года назад
People call these 3/4 size but they are more like 7/8 size. A full size guitar is around 40" long, a 7/8 size is around 35". A true 3/4 size would be only 30". Good video and review though.

Women with small hands can permanently damage their fingers on full-size guitars. It happened to me. I am 5'3. My ring finger on my left hand has no cartilage left so that the joint is bone on bone and it's permanently swollen. This is no joke. Women should be warned that regular guitars are made for men's large hands. Our hands are smaller and it puts too much pressure on the fingers to reach across the frets and hold down the strings with sufficient pressure.

ok. Here goes. I have been playing 3/4 scale guitar for about 5 years. I have small hands which makes it easier to play vis a vis stretching But... best thing for me is that I fly a lot and it goes in the overhead bin on planes with no problem at all. Very easy to travel with. My only complaint is that the neck could be a bit wider because it is hard to finger pick on it because the strings are so close together. I have been thinking of having one built that is about 1/4 wider than what I have. I am using a Yamaha jr. I think they call it. Had a Taylor till someone sat on it and frankly this is AS Good and a bit cheaper. I can't say that the tone is all that good but I think, in a custom, I would have a slightly larger body but keep the neck the way that it comes.

Nice sounding little guitar. Those Spanish style riffs made it shine. I had a short scale guitar when I was a kid, and it made playing a lot of fun and easy to play barre chords.

Hi Max. What can I say? This video bring back so many memories. I would take my brother's 3/4 scale guitar to school in 4th grade. instead of going out to play for my lunch time I would take a guitar class that my teacher held for kids who wanted to learn to play. arrreee it's a fond memory indeed. I think you covered the reasons to own one, I purchased an Ibanez mikro just to check out, it's difficult to do much (for me as an adult) beyond the 12th fret because my hand is so cramped. I still recommend getting a 3/4 guitar child or adult because they are still cool and a lot of fun to play.

I have a short scale Les Paul from Epiphone. I got it because I wanted something I could use to get my grandkids interested in playing the guitar. Surprisingly the one that became interested wasn't the one I thought would. I had thought my 11 yrs old grandson would show interest because he always seemed more interested in music when he was younger. Actually my granddaughter was the one who has shown an interest in playing guitar. She is 8 yrs old. This short scale Les Paul sounds really good and her smaller hands work perfectly on this guitar. In fact you would never suspect it was a short scale guitar by sound only. It sounds magnificent! So I have to say if this short scale electric acoustic guitar is anything like the Epiphone Les Paul short scale, I believe it's going to sound fantastic as well. I sometimes pull it down off the wall and noodle around with it just for fun. If you are thinking of getting a short scale guitar but are on the fence about how it might sound my advice would be to just go for it! The price these days makes it worth checking out. Even the short scale Les Paul from Epiphone is only $149 so it's not going to break the bank. I believe the Epiphone one is called an Epiphone Express and in comes in black and Sunburst. It even has the Les Paul signature on the headstock. At least mine does. I think at first it used to say "Special" on the headstock. You still see that in pictures. But I got mine last year and it had the Les Paul signature on it. I mention this only because I think having the "Les Paul" signature on the headstock gives the guitar some character and adds some credibility to the fact that you own a quality instrument. This acoustic one sounds great as well. Definitly worth checking out!

It sounds beautiful! I am a slim 5.5in woman and bought a dreadnought guitar, which is beautiful yet might have a crack (new with tags from craigslist). Now after trying it in my tiny apartment I think it might be easier to learn the basics on a smaller sized guitar and also for traveling, recording in rented places etc (I don't have a car). Is there a video comparing a few entry level 3/4 guitars and travel size guitars?

I started out with the Yamaha APX T2 and thought it was amazing but just recently stepped it up and bought a baby Taylor Koa with the input. It’s a little bigger, I notice that in width of the neck. I guess sounds more full and a little better then Yamaha but there’s nothing wrong with it. I enjoyed learning on , that’s for sure. So what’s the best 3/4 size out there , does Furch have one besides the one that goes in the nap sack ?

It’s perfectly acceptable to play whatever instrument you play as long as you actually play it. Besides, the 3/4 is so similar to a full-size it’s hard to tell the difference from a distance!
