It's awesome to see Trey's little mouth movements and intense gaze out towards the crowd while he's just ripping lines all over the fretboard. Truly a master of his craft.
It really is. Not to be that guy but Im gonna be that guy, I really do miss machine gun Trey lol. I remember pre 90s shows and thinking "damn what a show off! Hes lovin it..." And I would never take away from the other 3 because they're great, but for a pretty long time it really was the Trey show in full effect. He dominated the songs and dictated the direction of the jams with what almost seemed like disregard for the other members. In hindsight thats a bad thing but at the time I couldn't get enough. It suited me well at the time because I was young and feeling young. I still miss it but their recent tours have suited the older me just as well lol. Nowadays I find myself appreciating the rest of the band more than Trey. Damn this band never got too far away from me. Even over 30 years into it my love for this band has never waned. Its nice when your musical tastes can't be outgrown, not too many people can say one of their favorite bands in HS are still going strong, touring steadily, releasing new music, and doing it at very high level. No complacency from these guys. Im sorry y'all, just had to express some gratitude lmao.🐡🎶☝️✌
I cry at least once during this jam every time I listen to this song, no matter what performance. This one and 12/31/93 just hit differently (and Hood from A Live One while we're at it)
This is the first jam that made me realize these cats were different and amazingly talented-the mixture of so many styles and tempo changes just a kick ass group!!
Wish I coudve been there. Wish I had my Clifford Ball DVD set back. Sometimes I forget that this band made me take up playing drums and moments like these are so powerful to watch that it makes me deeply emotional. Love this band so damn much. May have not been alive for Grateful Dead but thank God i was born in a time where I could go see Phish. Perhaps my favorite Hood ever. The fireworks and lighters at the end says it all. Thank you Trey, Page, Fishman, Mike for being the glue in my magnet and providing the most spectacular music I've ever seen.
5:40 Trey plays a little melody and Mike echos it perfectly right after. They meet at the peak of the small climb up the register, and fall back down together in unison. I am literally crying right now it's so beautiful
Mikes Auto Wah during Mr. minor was tasty. For some reason Mike's face reminded me of Danny from the Shining when he was seizing / shining out lol!? Brings back mems driving from Philly to Charlottesville in early 90s to see my first show at Trax. Mind fully blown then and even now still. Thanks for the grooves boys!
Thanks for the great video. The lighters at the end gave me chills. It really took me back, I felt like I was at a early or mid 90's show. Remember the 90s when everyone smoked?
🎉Thank you Mr. MINE SMILES SMILING FACED SMILERS SMILELY NOT DIGGING FOR GOOD DIAMONDS ♦️ BLOOD OR NOT .. but really %. Cmon… Preciosa Metals Thank you Phish Clifford Ball Festival was nuts listen to everything I have for years 😊
Phenominal show. I think this, or Lemonwheel was the first 3 day festival camping show kick off. My first was IT and Camp Oswego. Plus numerous Pa, NYC. Albany and rocester shows. Love the 93/94. Esp love 1998 jedi trey, machine gun Trey. But they have all stood rhe test of time. Adapting. Lights are insane. I hope to catch these boys 1 or 2 more times before the hate to even say it...end. last show was Darien 2009. Reunion tour. MsG 12/31 is dream of mine. Financially just now an option. Love Phish. Each and everday i.lisyen to least 4 hours shows.
NotCorbinDallas so rad you’ve got this up and keep it up to share with everyone . An absolutely mind blowing musical weekend ! Been grooving to these guys since my first show back in the 80’s. First time I ever experienced a festival of this magnitude. Some of the sugarbush ones were great as well. Really takes me back , thanks so much man ! Haven’t been to a show in a while and this just brings back so many great memories ! Thanks brother ✌️
And no Page and Trey did not dose before the gig, they are just playing characters, it is an act, and if someone tells you that you have to dose at a show to truly understand is just being ironic and playing a mean trick on you. I can only imagine what a horrifying experience that would be.
@@picassomoon6435 i concur! the ending was so insane, like an absolute wtf completely blew my mind, and also how much people loved it - this was beyond music
