We arrived in Ella, after taking the 2nd part of the famous, scenic train ride in Sri Lanka. The train journey from Kandy to Ella offers breathtaking views of lush tea plantations, mist-covered mountains, and waterfalls. Following Nuwara Eliya, Ella is packed with things to do and many tourists find their way here. Our route took us first to the Nine Arch Bridge, surrounded by lush greenery, to capture the passing blue train. After that, we took an easy hike to Little Adam’s Peak. The next day we hiked to Ella Rock for panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys, barely avoiding a heavy rainstorm. We finished our days here with a visit to a waterfall & cooking delicious Sri Lankan dishes at Priya’s Cooking School.
Ella is a charming town nestled in the highlands of Sri Lanka, known for its stunning landscapes, cool climate, and vibrant atmosphere. The town offers a laid-back atmosphere with a range of cozy cafes, restaurants, and boutique shops.
