Hey, here is a video on some great high damage loadouts you can use in all your boss encounters. Super easy to maintain and use, thankyou for watching I hope you enjoy!
I never would've figured this out without this comment lmao thank you so much. When I run multiple reserves I always say screw it and use all 3 so I never would've notice 2 gave the same amount😂
@@piratehunterreviews9958just remember tho it only needs 2 if you have reconstruction (which it should because it's a great perk). If you don't have reconstruction you'll still need 3
Also your mag perk on Cataclysmic needs to get you to 6 shots without using backup mag. You'll get a second proc on fourth times without needing to switch mods.
Just in case nobody else mentions it, if you die after getting the extra reserves from the chest piece, you can keep the extra reserves as long as you put the chest piece back on before you revive.
I appreciate the explanations of the actual phase as that is where I get confused. I have 5khrs in D1 & 7k hrs in D2 90% solo and it has been easy to understand WHY to use certain weapon combos but not HOW to use them, so for dummies like me, this is clutch. You earned a sub from me and hope you hit 6k really soon. Also, it makes me super happy to support any content creator in Australasia, so keep up the hard work! GG Eternal!
I'm a solo player (warlock main) and am always looking for good solo load outs, but they're usually somewhat specific to the activity. Ngl, Merciless/RL is an underrated combo. I was using it a few weeks ago and it was excellent for solo, especially if you can figure out a good second special to use with it for ammo control.
I'm a hunter main but when I run Warlock I use Witherhoard, Royal Executioner(Envy/Reservoir), and Apex Pred(Recon/BnS). I usually like going with Strand Lock with Necrotics with Thread of Ascent to reload. But if I'm in a group and needed on Wellock then I pop well with Luna boots and swap to Rain of Fire boots to reload(if solo I just run RoF Boots).
If you have a fusion with controlled burst and auto loading like the loaded question, you can use it with a rocket and izzy/witherhoard in the kinetic slot, and just keep cycling that first shot on each gun, and if u have auto loading on the non kinetic weapons you only need to reload the izzy. This would do more dps than the fusion loadout he used in the vid.
For the apex predator, you will get more damage (considering you have bait and switch) if uou shoot with the rocket and then cycle to the sniper and secondary. Since you have to hit at least one rocket to use bait and switch, it’s better to do it first so you can cycle back to it when you have the perk active to hit 2 rockets
This is not true. Aegis tested and proved that bns does apply on the first rocket if it's the third weapon, it just doesn't show a correct damage number.
Pretty interesting DPS rotation that I’ve seen used (I personally don’t have the rocket needed Stuff Needed: Apex Predator, Merciless, Radiant Dance Machines 1: Choose Hunter 2: Radiant Dance Machines 3: Fire the entire reserves of Merciless (proc kill clip with the last shot of every mag) 4: Shoot primary once 5: Swap to Apex Predator with Bait and Switch 6: Shoot Rocket 7: Dodge 8: Repeat 6 and 7 until out of ammo
I do a lot of solo content and for short damage phases i like parasite and Cartesian coordinate/riptide. Unfortunately this only works well if you have a reliable auto reload (radient dance machines, rain of fire etc..) but if you can meet that its worth a try
The fact that the HOThead rocket launcher is arc instead of solar still make my brain mad 😂 its got hot right there in the name it should be solar damnit lmaoooo
just a correction: not special weapon{special weapon=weapon shooting special ammo, it also can be kinetic) but energetic weapon(weapon on second slot always has "light" element: solar, arc, void it can be primmary or special) *heavy weapons can be energetic or kinetic but not without element
there's no point in using merciless if you don't know how to use it, its exotic perk is super kill clip giving you a 50% damage buff after getting a kill then reloading
Just out of curiosity why don’t you use enhanced battery for the mag size on your cataclysmic? With it you can proc fourths times twice in a mag letting you shoot 10 shots in a row instead of 8. Less downtime reloading and more free ammo makes it the obvious choice imo.
@@lucaricci1987 do you mean damage per shot? Because total damage, the +1 to magazine does more, since Bait and Switch actually gives you enough time to fire off 10 shots without even having a charge time Masterwork, and you don't even need enhanced perks to get that to work either. For shorter damage phases where you can only reliably get 1 Izanagi shot, one burst of your energy fusion and a mag of Cataclysmic, even then I can't actually think of any boss damage phases in the game that has less than 15 seconds for DPS, which is about all you need to fire a full combo of Iza, energy and 10 shots Cataclysmic with FTTC and BNS
Also if you’re ever in a situation where you have time to quickly go into your inventory, you can stand over heavy bricks and insta swap your reserve armour to pick that brick up if you’re full on heavy
idk if i missed it, but i dont think you mentioned that merciless has a kill clip 'like' special perk named impetus, because if its possible you should mention that getting a kill before unloading merciless would help with damage.
The first time i tried to ro izzy hotswapping my brain completely broke and malfunctioned lmao...doesnt help i tried it on planets in root but still. Have yet to try it again i did like 400k dmg n kept forgetting to grab the buffs to deal dmg i was so focused on trying to remember the rotation
I’ve made us wipe and restart raid bosses if someone is dicking around and kills me after I rally with my extra reserves! lol….dropping from 9 to 7 rockets or 24 down to 20 linear shots will F up my dps!!!
Im playing that with izanagi fugue 55 with auto loading holster vorpal and a apex predator with reconstraction and collectiv action -- this has to go need another perk . But i wasnt testong it because i have no guild to play with :D
Witherhord comes with a caveat though. If you do not have the catalyst unlocked, i.e. you do not play any PVP mode in Destiny 2, the third strat will not work.
For mercyless id say its better to not use an al rocket, i use either a field prep clown c or a slide ways with the refresh bug on apex pred so i can dump both weapons ammo separately, cuz when u swap weapons with the merciless charge time buff it takes it away. Also the slideways bug is when u slide to reload ur rocket and if u swap weapons it resets the slideways cooldown so u can use slideways to reload again if u swap back. Basically making ur apex pred a big ignition code. Better with high handling
My issue is I finally get in a group for a raid we play raid half the raid team dies from their own mistakes I get blamed cause I play a stasis sorc build yet I haven't died once they kick me and proceed to keep losing the raid anyway
For short dmg phases izanagy + auto loading heavy gl is best especially the new trials one. For really long ones like one phase oryx izy + cataclismic has really hogh total dmg
If you are using recon/BnS Apex you should start with the rocket than the other 2 weapons, once you get back to your rocket you will have BnS activated with both rockets ready to go. In your dps phase, you only had 4 rockets within BnS. The number 1 thing if you are looking at DPS, you really should have a solid rotation figured out to utilize all buffs that your weapons are giving. A Royal Executioner with Envy/Reservoir is much better since it gives you the option to run exotic in the primary slot like Witherhoard. If you are running Wellock you should try and get Rain of Fire boots instead of Luna if "solo" as the title implies.
It was definitely a honed edge shot he loaded it and then rallied So it shows 4 shots 1 izy shot is not doing 100k damage 😂and why wouldn’t u start with izy so all rockets have bait and switch buff not just 6
Bns applies on the first hit, it just doesn't show the correct dmg number but you can measure the health bar damage and it's full bns on the first rocket
very helpfull. i have a godroll Taipan (Focused Fury/Tripple Tap) and a solid B+ Apex. In this case taipan would be the choice ? Hothead with Autol. Holster/Vorpal or Autol.Holster/Clown Cartrige ?
taipan is actually one of the worst dps options due to the linear nerfs, and clown cartridge doesnt work with autoloading so stick to either your apex or go with the auto vorpal rocket
3:19 One work around is to re-equip the chest piece that has the ammo reserves while dead then after you are revived you can switch back to your preferred chest piece
As a new player to Destiny 2, what exactly is this about? Nerf what, why would you think it would be nerfed and are all the VOW and Last Wish weapons + commemoration from Deep Stone Crypt not worth going for as a new player since your comment seem to suggest Bungie will nerf all of them to make it pointless like Starfire Protocol (which made Warlocks stronger with better builds now)?
@@ZaggaZyeungie already has nerfed izzy before but i doubt theres a need for it again. Linears got nerfed last season because they were easy to use and did a lot of dmg in a long dps phase because they hit so hard and had so much ammo. People have been using rocket swapping for a while and rockets haven’t received any nerfs for a while i could be wrong though. The nerf for starfire was needed. It gave you way too many grenades that you could use to proc demolitionist on your rocket plus the grenades were free dmg and with touch of flame they would explode twice. I think the nerf from 20% to 2.5% was a little extreme i think it shouldve been like 10 or 12.
@@NathanM007 I love how you are honest in your reply, you have not bashed Bungie at all. You made your points clear and also added the reason behind those balances/Nerfs, good one Pal you seem like a player who I could rock with all day.
@@ZaggaZye warlocks are trash now, we can’t even solo any of the dungeons easily now, titans has been dominating PvE ever since all the light subclass had a 3.0 rework.
@@wydaaron Oh darn, and I love Warlocks so much, though I saw where they are the only ones that can two phase GOTD second boss? Any particular build or all builds work on TItan (as in Solar/Strand etc)?
I am just getting into the whole bait and switch thing w my newly crafted Apex. I used to just always bring my crafted taipan. But this video was EXACTLY what I needed. THANK YOU.
A better way to use Apex with Bait and Switch is to shoot an Apex First, then start your Izi swapping. By the time you get back to your rocket, you’ll have 2 Bait and Switch Rockets for quicker damage
well, you can play the game actually solo, i.e solo dungeons, solo nightfalls, solo lost sectors, hell even solo raids… and for those type of players they would use completely different loadouts. solo players using LFG is different to being a single guardian in a encounter. so there is a difference. so i wanted to make that clear.
You could also use the craftable solar fusion from last season with envious/resevoir burst with witherhoard and apex. You just need to have a build that doesn't rely too much on weapons for killing ads, because you are gonna want to save ammo for the boss.
I'm not sure if the way you use your Apex is how you normally use it, but if that is the case, Bait and Switch is pointless on it. Explosive Light will be stronger for more damage provided you're able to get the Orbs of Power needed for x6. If you do plan to use a Bait and Switch rocket, use Cold Comfort with Envious Assassin and Bait and Switch + it's origin trait when you use a finisher on an enemy. Doing this after 9 consecutive weapon kills with 10 seconds between each kill + the finish will load 3 rockets per mag + 1 "emergency reload" for a 4th shot without needing to swap rocket out. The reason for this is Bait and Switch only procs on the very next shot fired from magazine, so on Apex, it only works when using your second shot from the reconstruction overflow, if you reloaded it however, third shot would also be effected by BNS. Because of this, Lunafaction Boots is highly recommended if you want to maximize your total damage output, and even with Cold Comfort I would say it is necessary because the highest DPS you can use is Cold Comfort in a LunaWell and using Alloy Casing for maximized reload speed with Envious BNS. Once BNS has run out (~11 seconds including the moment the counter hits 0) you can reproc it with the Honed Edge Izanagi's and secondary weapon (I personally use a volt shot Iterative Loop), then fire off your last rockets and just smash the final few Izanagi shots into boss. But by that point usually DPS phase is over.
yes and thankyou for that info, i do know how to use it properly. im just doing a simple video on the basics to help guardians out. if i got into all that specifics the video would be super long and difficult to understand
@@EternalD2 That is fair. It's definitely a good guide for people newer to the game or newer to being the "carry" of a raid team/doing solo dungeons for Guardian Ranks. I'm definitely one of those people that are more in the groupings of "everything must be optimised in my build perfectly." So much so that I now have builds for all 3 classes specifically designed for solo flawless content vs carry content vs raiding with full clan. I feel like I'm going crazy
On Rockets, Bait and Switch is the ultimate Boss DPS perk, while Explosive Light is much better at killing champions and under making it a better pick for GMs since it has no setup. Longer DPS against a single target is where B&S truly surpasses EL, due to 1 unbuffed and 3 buffed shots of B&S surpassing the damage of 4 EL rockets (and not needing to grab more orbs at the end of your reserves), and reload abilities benefitting b&s rockets more than EL ones, and the B&S perk buffing Wolfpack Rounds damage while EL does not.
You are completely wrong. Check the video by aegis. BnS does apply on the first rocket in a rotation even though you don't see a bigger damage number, the actual damage measured on the health bar is with bns applied. It always applies on the first hit even though you don't see the timer yet
Another really good rocket launcher for the izinagi rocket setup is palmyra b, which is a craftable rocket launcher with auto loading lasting impression, which can both be enhanced for more damage and faster reloading
