I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve watched this video- it truly never gets old! The combination of the truck, the footage of Heath tossing the clubs and the great interview makes for my all time favorite rolling cb interview video. Hats off to a job well done by all on this one!

I'll never get tired of seeing these guys shift the old twin sticks. I want one someday. I'd love to shift another twin someday. But too many people want them. Even if they can't drive 'em. Most guys these days can't drive a ten, let alone a modern 18.

This truck makes me cry and brings back the great memories of the good old days. I learned to drive at 15 on a 1977 KW W900 with a 400 Cummins and a 6x4 pulling a flat in the ice and snow of the Colorado mountains where some times it might take 6hrs to go 80 miles. I went in the Army at 17 and got to drive an IH 2000D all over Germany for 4 years then I came back to work for the guy that took me under his wing at 15 and drove for him for about 4 years till I met my wife of over 32 years now I guess it helped that her dad was a trucker. After that I gave up on OTR and have be in dirt work for years from End Dumps to Double Sides and Double Bellys. Thank you Heath for bringing back such great memories of the good old days and the great trucks that me had back then not the cut back gut less truck of today where every time you look a new light is on in the dash. Best of luck and keep it up. John.

36:06 Explains why the pinky shift. Simply put when you have almost 2x your horsepower in torque, you don't really want to be slamming into every gear. My little Ford Focus Doesn't care about the no clutch shift and grinding it till a gear is found (or the new neutral), but under load (80k lbs, as said by the driver) you'll find the weakest link of the transmission/drivetrain quickly.

I agree 100% on Heath's opinion on ELD's and where the trucking industry has headed. I spent 25 years driving trucks, and had all I could take by 2008. Yes I miss driving trucks, but I miss the days when I first started. You were out there doing your job and you didn't have big brother riding along, there were no GPS, ELD's, tattle tales, just you and your truck. Yes I still have my CDL just in case, heck I've had my truck drivers license for 38 years, why give it up now. Yes I'm one of the folks who was grandfathered into the CDL license. I'm praying with the help of the good lord, I'll retire from my current job and just enjoy my retirement. Thanks Big Rig Videos for all these rolling interviews and to all my fellow drivers still out there, stay safe and keep it between the ditches and we'll catch you on the bounce around. Take care, Rich S.

I have been in law enforcement for 24 years now. Seeing drivers and the pride that they have in there equipment makes me just wave them on through my state of New Jersey. To those newer drivers coming into this career. Please , make sure you have the right stuff, paperwork , insurance, securing the load, tires, and everything else is “YOUR RESPONSABILITY” there is no reason to put others at risk. If you are aware of faulty equipment and “you” have an accident it is you that is liable and can be charged with negligence. If you are told to do something unsafe ... walk away ! Thank you big rig videos , you make my midnights pass by quickly watching these videos. In another year maybe I will get back into the biz!

WOW, what a great video. Some of the best camera work along with the best sound all wrapped up in one film. Heath, thanks for taking the time and effort to school us on twin stick methodology. You've got an awesome rig that's a real traffic-stopper.

I know this is from 5 years ago but what a beautiful truck and a beautiful story from a professional something that is lacking from the industry today I'm so sad to say thank you for being out there and keeping old school alive. And oh yeah I almost forgot that is a beautiful tarp job.

Thanks Chris, this is why I love America, an o/op can still build a truck that they really enjoy driving where as over here we are so over regulated it is virtually impossible, the DOT. just would not allow it. The trucks on sale in the European market just don't have any character, they have no soul, i'm not saying their bad trucks, just uninteresting. I know it's all about fuel economy and aerodynamics, but to me this guy has got it totally right, if your an o/op and you spend most of your time down the long road and can afford it why not! once again thanks for another great truck and interview. stay safe man. pat. uk.

Just for the hell of it I don’t like Kenworth trucks , but I like this one! I don’t drive trucks but this video fulfills my desire to to be able to drive for a living. Just really enjoy these rolling interviews because they are well done Ana answers every question I could possibly think of. Interviews are amazing! I drove from Colorado to New Mexico yesterday and a semi was behind me and I watched him for at least 50 miles and was so impressed with how professional and considerate he or she was driving , it was amazing to watch in the mirror. Anyway thanks for all the incredible and informative videos you provide. Love your wagon that you use to photograph with. Quality is just amazing. Hope idiots fucking with trucks watch this and all your interviews and will see that truckers are important and outstanding ! Really made my day.

After the oil company I worked for as a geologist folded in 1984, I too a ride with a buddy out of SW MO to clear my head. 24 years later, in 2008,. i stepped out of my last truck, a 99 379. My favorite of the three I owned through the years was my '78 A model. Had a 3408 and a pair of boxes. Miss the truck and the road. Don't miss all the regs. By the way, across the street from where 4 States is, on the property where the Petro now is, used to be Jesse's Truck Stop. Nicest little stop around. Triple beams and Red's cafe. All you can eat butter beans and ham, with cornbread. Mmmm...good!

The thing I learned from my ol man was no matter where I was ... is how to back up into a spot! And I appreciate your smooth shifting. I’m a year older than you. I was there at 14. We are under rated... and I got it in the hole at 14 every time. Before commercial driving license... great video.!

Brother, You are Absolutely Correct on pretty much Everything you said. I started driving a truck in 1977. I learned from 2 men, Lanar Cluff and AB Nunn... They were OLD school Truckers. They started in the 30's and 40's... That is the work ethic I learned and the way I was taught to drive a truck. It has changed ALLOT! There were things I used to do in the old days in the 70's and 80's that you Just Can't do anymore... Thank you for this clip. I am in the process of buying a 61 KW Needle Nose... I am going to restore the Ol Girl. I have been looking for a 59, That's the year I was born... I Still might find one!:~)

Everything is in chrome, the Americans have such a culture that would stand out from the gray mass. It really looks really cool! Especially when the lights glow orange in the dark. A true American classic. I'd love to work on a truck like this myself. Sincerely from Russia.
