In this karate video training I will show you some basic karate blocking techniques for beginners.
There are many blocking techniques in karate, but if you are a beginner, learn these three blocking techniques.
The three techniques are: lower block, middle block, and upper block.
If you do karate, this technique is essential.
It may be difficult at first due to unfamiliar movements, but with practice, anyone can surely do it.
This technique can be practiced at home or anywhere.
Let's give it a try.
Do you wanna learn martial arts ?
If so, start karate.

I love the gedan barai block with the stance...it can be so affective when blocking a punch or kick to the knee if u have a fast reaction oss sensei.

Exactlly, That block is often used in kumite as well. If I can find someone to shoot a video with me, I'd like to put out a video of the promised kumite. That's fun and can be applied to kumite as well.

Sensei in shotokan karate the gedan barai block comes all the way from the ear just remeber that next time. It comes from the ear and BOOM slide it until the block of the knee

Are you a Shotokan karate practitioner? I've seen that block too. That style is powerful and cool. By the way, my style is Sitoryu. Some styles have a lower block with the fist on top. Interesting that there are so many different types of karate blocks.

@JalysmybestYT No problem😄 Karate styles can differ even within the same school. The important thing is to learn how to move your body through the basics of karate. How did the judging go? I'm cheering for you.

@JalysmybestYT congratulations! If you get your brown belt, you're almost a black belt. I look forward to the day you get your black belt!

Sumimasen sensei,i have a question.I know soto uke is a block from outside, but in 5:41 you write yoko uke, but this yoko uke is from inside like uchi uke, what is the different between yoko uke and uchi uke?i confuse😵‍💫

Thank you for your questions. Actually “soto” means outside. The word “Yoko” I used this time means side. The meaning is the same, just said in a different way in different karate schools. Glad to hear your enthusiastic questions😊

Sorry, I didn't explain well enough “Uchi” “Uchi”means inside. I used to call these block. Outside: Sotouke Inside : Yokouke But you're right, this one is easier to understand from a Japanese perspective. This seems to be the better way to explain it in this channel. Thanks for the reference😊 Soto : outside Uchi : inside “Uke” means to receive and should be interpreted as receiving an attack. “Harai” means like sweeping with a broom. The image of literally sweeping rather than catching the opponent's attack.

If you have to block, this mean you re late. I analyse, i make a choice, i do the action....then you block.... 3 mental time late 🤷‍♂️

Thank you for your question😊 An introduction to the martial arts techniques is first learned through the use of the body. You're right, this block alone is quite difficult to use in practice. The important thing is to learn how to use your body from these basic techniques, and then apply them to the techniques so that you can use them in practice. Failure to do so will result in a situation where the person trying to use the technique will be used by the technique. It is true that some people practice because they want to learn strong and cool techniques quickly, but if they don't have the basic skills, many people are swept away by those techniques and can't use martial arts. In arithmetic, it is difficult to teach children to calculate difficult formulas out of the blue. They should start with simple calculations. Once they have the basics, they should be able to apply them to any problem they face. In karate, too, simply obtaining a black belt does not make you a karate master! This is the same for me. It is not the end of your karate career when you have earned a black belt, but it means that you have completed the minimum foundation of karate and have now started your karate career.
