I use the “synth” bass effect of plucking the string 12 frets up from the note being played. Used it just last Sunday at church. Huge fan of your channel and your bass playing !!!!
Thanks for making me a better bass player...I have about 95% of all your RU-vid videos but I haven't gone through 5% of it...but I'm standing tall in my play...thanks boss
I didn't know there were no more octave's after the 7th fret! (of the G string) I play them though! Harmony with within a fret on scale is a great tip!
Thank you for the coolness of these lessons, Travis! Those are cool ways to visualize and actualize them! As for the XVive X2, I have a set and I love them. Been looking a the in-ear monitors, so I'm headed over to the site to register! Thank you, again!
Phaser effect resting side of your thumb (of your plucking hand) lightly on a string and plucking directly behind it to create a harmonic then move your plucking around in the area between neck and bridge.
I play vibrato on bass. Either fast and wide, or slow and slightly which emulates a chorus or flanger effect. Also using the guitarist method of vibrato, shaking the finger instead of bending string, makes a tremolo effect. But that only works with roundwound strings. And finally I play the same note on 2 strings, eg, the a on the e string plus the open a string together. This gives it a slightly detuned effect, like a muddy chorus effect.
Hi Travis, this is an unrelated question to this topic, I purchased the Tascam TH-02 headphones, which I saw you have.. I have the focusrite 2i2, kick, and Bass sound like paper, no low end, I have Walmart JLab over the ear headphones $20, they sound awesome, low subs and crisp highs.same 32 ohms, what's wrong with my settings?
To be completely honest, those tascams I have are only used as my backups backup, they are definitely not my main ones. Now if you are looking for some that aren’t crazy expensive you should check out the Senheiser HD 280 Pros they are a really solid headphone that are right under a $100 that will last you forever!
@@TravisDykes Thanks Travis for your reply, I also had the Beyerdynamic DT 770 prior to the Tascam..i returned, low volume at max on the focusrite, even though the DT 770 was also 32 ohm.. Thanks for your advice..I've seen everyone of your bass videos.. be blessed Travis, you and your family..
Also Zoom MS-60B Multistomp. I use one all the time for compression plus an amp model. Sounds great straight into the PA mixer if there's no bass amp available on stage. Even better with foldback monitor/s if available.
@@martinheath5947 Very interesting... would you be able to comment on the quality, as compared to the G1on (I made a mistake in my comment, it's not "n1m") ? I am starting to have doubts about the G1on series...
@@TheTwangKings I don't know the G1 but the G sounds like it's meant for guitar. Yeah I'm super happy with how it sounds. Factory presets were mostly a waste of time for my playing style but they're easy to modify. Excellent unit for the price
