@@elephantguy0790 doesn’t matter. The point is that it’s constant. And yes, we all know we don’t have to buy it. The point is that it causes fatigue, it gets annoying and you don’t get to enjoy the previous set without getting constant reminders the the new set is only a few weeks away.

What’s the deal with so many assassins destroying creatures that were already dealt damage? If you’re playing assassins the last thing you want is to be seen and it seems like most MTG assassins are not the stealth killers you want, like Royal Assassin.

Because thats what assassins do they kill things and people, when they’re deal damage. It makes the kill that much easier.

I’m really hoping Ramses spikes in value. He’s a *win* condition that pairs perfectly with Ezio’s *forced lose* condition, and the full Assassin tribe just getting huge buffs. Tempted to stick him into pirates (my upgrades being the Black Flag cards) and use the 6 or 7 I’ll have in the deck (“Pirate Monarch” nothing to do with One Piece)

Thats why its a rule 0 conversation that you only scoop at sorcery speed. If a prick wants to scoop like that, dont play with them

The firsf card kind of existed in yugi where you could win the best of 3 with 1 game. Everybody was scooping before the effect resolved. Here they'll just scoop before being attacked

There's a big difference between instantly winning a best of 3 and instantly winning a 4-way game. The player getting Assassinated could scoop to save the other two, but what's in it for them? They still get knocked out of the game either way.

They had to make it "..when attacked by assassin..." cuz if it was on damage, satoru umezawa ninjitsu would be able to trigger that. The wording makes it so you need the assassin to tap to attack, not enter attacking. Edit: but the ability makes it so if you attack with an assassin, but that particular creature didnt get through, still wins you the game.

I had to do a double take on the Freerunning ability. Essentially it’s the Ninjitsu ability from the Kamigawa sets. Wonder if that’s gonna errata the old Kamigawa ninjas

It’s more like Prowl. Ninjutsu isn’t casting and makes you pick up an unblocked creature.

Scarblade is cheaper and is situationally better, as Royal Assassin only destroys tapped creatures while Scarblade can kill any creature. The only thing Royal Assassin has is its ability is easier to activate.

I feel like a lot of people in the comments don't understand how Ramses works. Unless you have some sort of gentlemans agreements with your other opponents, scooping to avoid his effect only hurts you. You still lose, but now you have to wait out the rest of the game instead of immediately starting a new one.

Most play groups play scooping at sorcery speed. It’s generally poor sportsmanship otherwise.

Ramses doesn’t work unless you’re super casual. If they scoop before combat, there’s no trigger.

Wow. A lot of insecure kids playing commander theses days with this rage quit “scoop in response” saltiness 😂 it’s a game people. Have fun with it and start a new one. It’s not a big deal.
