This is why I hate horror movies and games with too many jumpscares... They don't leave you with a sense of fear or dread after it's over; Just mad that you fell for it or laughing because you fell for it. Like a haunted house.

I feel the same way. Like, ya they're startling bc that's just how jumpscares are, but they're not inherently *scary*. They're just lazy and cheap and the people that make these games just rely on them because that's the easiest way to get your game labeled as a "horror" game.

It's a very difficult thing actually because you have to rely on the other backbone of the horror genre: environmental ambiance. With such a small game (consisting of platforming), that's a monumental task you're asking, my friend. I think they played on jumpscares pretty well. Some of them had the lead up which you knew was going to be a jumpscare but still gets you anyways. Actually, scratch all of that.
