==== 🤔 NORMANDY FAQ's ====
👉 How to get to Normandy D-Day Beaches from Paris?
1-Rent a car from Paris and drive. Bayeux is about 3 hours from Paris and St Mere l'Eglise (Utah Beach) is about 4 hours.
2-Take a train from Gare St Lazare to Bayeux. This medieval town has lots of boutique hotels, cobblestone streets, and restaurants to enjoy. From there, you'll have many options for guided tours to the D-Day beaches.
3-Book a one-day tour from Paris. It usually leaves at 7am and returns in the evening. This is the marathon option if you only have limited time to see the D-Day Beaches
4-Book a private tour guide & driver from Paris to take you there & back
👉 Where to Stay in Normandy to visit the D-Day beaches?
Bayeux is probably the best option with many boutique hotels to choose from. And it's centrally located with quick access to all the main D-Day locations.
👉 What is the best time to visit Normandy D-Day Beaches?
June & September is probably the best for fewer crowds and better weather. July & August will be crowded with Europeans on summer vacations.
👉 How far is Normandy from Paris France?
By Car: 3-hours to Bayeux which is centrally located and 4-hours to St Mere l'Eglise and Utah Beach
By Train: Gare St Lazare to Bayeux = 3h:13mn
👉 How long does it take to visit the Normandy D-Day Beaches?
We recommend at least 2-days to see all the sites. The best is 3-days to see it all properly. The D-Day beaches are about 70km from one end to the other with small country roads connecting them all.

We’ve visited Normandy twice. I’m a US Army veteran and worked for a Lieutenant Colonel whose father is buried in Normandy. So we paid tribute to his father while visiting. The Overlord Museum was amazing and as a veteran there was no fee for me to visit. We were touched to see the number of US flags in the area. Thank you for making this video.

I have wanted to visit the Normandy region for years now. My sole purpose is to visit, and pay respect, to the the brave men buried in the cemetery. I really appreciate this travel video. It hits home. I didn't realize so many thousands of Americans died on the Normandy beaches. May God Rest Their Souls.

I have been to these D Day sites many times over the years and know them well. My father landed on D-Day on the 3rd wave, he was the captain of a landing craft at Easy Red sector of Ohama Beach and brought in troops of the 16th regiment of the 1st Infantry Div. Most of them he told at the end of his life that very few of the more than 100 men on this ship did not make it alive to the beach but were cut down in the water. He revisited this site 4 times over the years with me. Your report is just excellent. I am very happy to have found your site, the commentary and film work are just so good in every one of your reports. I hope you continue doing many more of them.

I went to D-Day beaches with my dad in 1985 (I think). It was very moving. When we went to Pointe-du-Huc those fences weren't there. It was pretty amazing to go down into one of those shell holes. We have a picture of my dad walking through the American cemetary. Extremely moving. A treasured memory because he knew he had terminal cancer. My siblings and I didn't know at that time. My dad insisted that we also go to Germans' cemetary. Dad said it was respectful to go as they were also just young men who died. Also very moving. Thank you both for reviviing some great memories for me. It was my last trip with my dad, he passed about a year later.

Visited much you include in this vid, including staying in Bayeux for 3 nights. Loved, loved, loved Bayeux and fell in love with Normandy. Visiting the beaches and battle sites was sobering and the cemeteries, with seemingly endless cross markers, made the cost of those young lives snuffed out so much more real than just reading about it. As a former Marine, I was touched deeply. I think the knowledge that the French remember, and revere those who gave all, and take care of those sites so carefully and respectfully made me love France even more.♥

My husband and I watched this on memorial day with excitement, because we stayed in Bayeux while we visited this area on our first trip to France. We visited the beaches near there as well as Gold and Juno Beaches. We vowed to return,as his father landed on Juno on D-day and we were on a van day tour with not enough time to really see and take in all the things we wanted to. When we return, We will travel by train to the area and rent a car in the local area. The Caen museum is one of the places we want to take in. Thank You for your excellent video. Thank You for portraying not only the views but also the very poignant emotions, a visit to this place and time in our history bring forth.🇨🇦🙏🏻

I was in the US Army in the early 70's station in Heidelberg. I've been to several US war cemeteries in France and Belgium but never (yet) been to the D Day area. Thanks so much for this posting. I get emotional just watching it and thinking of what happened there and it's significance. Wondering how I would have reacted had I found myself in those circumstances. The world knows what those men did and will never forget.

I just spent two weeks in France. My first visit to Normandy. I visited all five DDay Beaches. So much history to see. The view you were able to show at Pointe du Hoc was fantastic. Walking around those bomb craters was impressive, but to see it from the air was startling. It is fitting that I watched this video on Memorial Day and you visited the American Cemetery in Normandy. Such a historic place to visit. So somber and the ultimate sacrifice by those brave soldiers. I am going back in July for two months. Visiting many of the same sites again but now with a better idea of what I am seeing.

Thank you for this video. My grandpa was stationed in Normandy during WWII, as a medic. In discovering my French ancestry, I found out my family is from the Normandy, Rouen area so it's kinda amazing that he was there during the war, but probably didn't know that is where his lineage started. I visited WWII monuments in Washington, D.C. and it was very emotional, but this video even more so. I wanted to take husband to visit Bastogne but none of the tours were running for some reason😢 and it was too far for us by car . My dad was born in Zeeland Netherlands and used to talk about Bastogne . So husband and I shortened our Belgium trip ( after we visited Brrugge of course ), took the train to Paris and using your videos had a very nice short visit there . Husband and I spent our careers supporting or military service men and women in logistics and weapon system design . And for some reason I really want to visit Normandy ever since the 80s … don’t know why . Your videos are always such a huge help !! I’m going to look to see if you have one on Dardogne ..

Came a week after the 75th anniversary- took the high speed train to Rennes and then rented a car to drive to Mont St. Michel. 2 nights there and then to Bayeux. Did a 2 day tour of all the WWII stuff - so worth it! I am NOT a tour person but our guides knew so much and took us on private land for some spots! Had never heard of the Bayeux tapestry, had some extra time on our last morning and decided tog go - so glad we did. Have become obsessed with English history since and it appears in videos everywhere. Such an amazing trip!!!

I've followed your channel for a while, and have always enjoyed your videos. This one, from your 3-day visit to Normandy is excellent. It's very moving and authentic. I've visited the region many times, including taking my two sons there on several occasions when they were younger. The Omaha and Utah beaches were THE most difficult of the 5 D-Day landing beaches, and the US lost more soldiers there than any other nation in the landings. As Brits, we stayed close to Sword and Gold beaches most, but we did also visit Juno, Omaha and Utah. The Caen Memorial Museum is astounding. Thank you for what you're doing as "Les Frenchies". You have brought a unique take on living in France (and especially Paris) and I really love your passion and authenticity. Most of all I admire your honesty (and of course recommendations for places to eat!).
