That's really amazing! We always talk about how tough it must have been for the people who built the infrastructure in those places. I bet he had some stories. Thanks for sharing! ✌️
@@thecuriousvidaHe loved it up there. When my dad was growing up(During the late 40's -1950's) the whole family. Including the cat would live up there during the summer. My grandma washed clothes in a basin with a washboard . My dad and his sister would go fishing, while my grandpa was at work. I remember Grandpa telling a story about a Bear trying to get into his tent. Another about getting caught up in a very strong storm(probably a micro burst)... Be followed by a mountain lion and riding a horse to get away. He truly loved those mountains and the shell valley.
Cool man, I've looked at hot tents for a long time. Maybe next season I'll have a kit 👌 looks fun! The girls a trooper! 💪 Off topic, but have you seen the videos of the labs making fossils in hours? 🤔 As a stone worker, that stuff blew my mind.. 👀 seems like you're interested in old stuff, that was like a paradigm shift for me brother 😄🤯
Hey Dave! We really love the hot tent camping! Our tent is Whiteduck Outfitters if you're in the market. They're pricey just a heads up. Other topic, no this is the first I've ever heard of this. Now I have to go look into it. Sounds a little crazy. Thanks for bringing it to my attention! I need another rabbit hole to go down 😆
@@thecuriousvida Yeah man, it's funny, I've never really been a religious guy, but I have family and friends who are. I remember a conversation with a cousin years ago about dinosaurs, (she's very Christian), and she told me carbon dating isn't accurate, etc.. I'd never heard such garbage, and I hope she didn't pick up on my surprise to hear her say that lol Anyway, years later, here I am exploring Christianity, my young daughters started going to church with friends, and I thought I'd scope it out like a bristled old dad.. I was watching something bible-ish on RU-vid, which usually auto-plays me into aliens and bigfoot 🤷 and I woke up to this guy showing me how a lab made sandstone fossils in like 24hrs 👀 I'd like to say it's "fake news", but.. I can't 🤦 😆 which night explain a lot of dragon lore.. 🤪 Then I found videos of some young guy doing it in his basement! (Making fossils) Amazing thoughts that idea provokes 🤔 I called cousin and apologized for feelings that were years old, and that she was utterly unaware of. Lol Supposedly, these instant fossils carbon dated, and electron microscoped identically to other similar "old" fossils .. In my tradeswork, I was tasked with recreating a marble tabletop for an old lady once. She was really sad this "antique" table top had been broken. I told her the new table top will be just as beautiful, and will even carbon date the same as the old. 😎👌
@davebitton6624 I feel like this is where a lot of people are nowadays Dave. Trying to make sense out all this. It is wild times we are living in. Hard to tell truth from fiction. I am not particularly religious but I like to think I'm spiritual. I love the stories of the Bible but I try to remember men put them together. I was recently learning about the book of Enoch. Apparently it is part of the oldest known Bible which I understand is the Ehiopian Bible. The book of Enoch has some wild things in it. Makes my head hurt and the idea of fabricating fossils makes my head hurt even more. But hey makes for some entertaining living trying to put the puzzle of life together. Thanks for the sharing. Cool to see some similar minds. I think there are a lot of people in the same boat out there right now. Just looking for some sense of truth whatever that might be. ✌️🤠
