Shank!!!! Could watch this video a million times... Your smile and laughs are contagious and so is your happiness. Your genuine love for people is out of this world and the way you naturally connect to people irrespective of their standards needs to be studied. God bless you for paying for the woman's hospital bills ..I'm sure she was the main reason God planned your visit to makoko. Proud of you my fellow lamberians and so is God. ❤❤❤❤❤ @shankcomics
I was born and brought up in Makoko and still and here. People who live here are 3times more than people who live on land. Thank you Shank for putting smiles on their faces.
Shanks said "Prince of makoko, dem go put the banner here tomorrow afternoon". And in less than a minute a banner actually went up to that effect. Words and vibrations of the mind is so powerful
Bro took us to another world. This was so REAL… he did not dress or try to look cool, his bag sef no even get make. He blended in with his awesome character, interacted with all tiers of the community from elders to youth, to toddlers. Indulged himself in their way of life… he basically used Comedy to run Journalism of a very peculiar part of Nigeria. This went beyond CONTENT and if it doesn’t force his peers to do something similar, I am sure it has inspired a lot of his followers to do so. For this Nigeria as GOD don bless US reach, all our politicians and evil cabals combined no fit stop US from progress! Compliments to the Production team, the music selection was heavenly.
I was born and brought up in makoko, I left home 3 years ago to secure a future by studying but watching this video has made me miss home 😭, makoko is a place I call home and its hold a better place in my hrt. Thank you for your good work
Dear shank I hope this letter finds you well. I just wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for the incredible work you're doing. Your ability to bring joy and laughter to both the less privileged and the privileged is truly remarkable. I still remember watching you perform in Ibadan, where you effortlessly brought smiles to the faces of so many people. And now, seeing you in Makoko, it's inspiring to witness how you continue to spread happiness and positivity wherever you go. Your dedication to using your talent to make a difference in the lives of others is truly admirable. In a world that can often feel overwhelming, your humor and wit serve as a beacon of light for so many. Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and your commitment to making the world a brighter place. May you continue to be blessed with the ability to uplift and inspire others through your comedy. With sincere gratitude,
I have been ignoring this video for days now, each time it pops up, finally I watched it and happy watching it. It's touching and humanity. God continue to bless you Shank and your team . Good job, from Ghana
I cried as I am watching this Makoko documentary. As my dad usually says that the value of a wealthy man is his positive impacts on peoples lives. I pray God should bless me to bless humanity, family and love once. I feel like relocating the entire people of Makoko to a better and decent environment, I just wish I could do it right now. God will help me with my good intentions and make it come to past 😢❤
I grew up very close to this slum. It's way bigger than it looks. It's an entire world on its own. It's where the real hustle is. So many talents are raised there. Thanks Shanks for bringing back nostalgic.

We just had to deliver what we brought for them and hope for a better community for them. Sincerely they really need a whole lot of development in that community. Well done Shank for this.

Gosh.. the hospital 😢part got me! As a Nigerian and a healthcare worker living in the USA 🇺🇸.. My heart just breaks! I am scared for these women.. I can’t even begin to imagine the kind of care they give them.. God please protect these women!.. Thank you Shank for your kind heart.. Our government and individuals collectively need to do better! How can we help that hospital please ? 🙏🏽
Mind you, they after option to live in the mainland but chose to live on water. First, i think you should do a little research. Back before 18th century, the first occupiers were largely fishermen from Dahomey kingdom. Their grandparents had lived there for ages. Successive governments have tried earnestly to relocate them, all to no avail. There is a such community as well in Benin Republic cale The Floating Village of Ganvie. I have been there, they have hotels, restaurants, school etc there as well. Their main occupation evolves around the water. They absolutely have sons and daughters who have migrated from the area to get jobs in mainland. It is not always an option of provision sometimes but of choices people make. The Lagos State Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency has so far over 3,400 health facilities across the tiny State to cater for over 20 Million population. Lagos State has 14 ambulance points to cover the 20 LGAs. 27 general hospitals, The State has about 329 primary health centres with minimum of 5 in each of the 20 LGs and LCDAs. In summary, Lagos State has a total hospital/clinic population of 2,333: 458 public and 1875 private, out of which 1574 are primary health facilities, 756 are secondary, and three are tertiary. In 2021, Lagos trained No fewer than 15,000 health workers in various capacity building exercises, including Clinical and Non-Clinical Training, Seminars and Continuous Medical Education (CME) programmes geared towards improving efficiency, service delivery and client satisfaction at all levels of healthcare delivery. Makoko expanded after Raji Rasaki demolished the old Maroko, where today is called Lekki - Ajah axis occupied by the rich. This area was occupied and owned by some of the people. I was born in Maroko in the late 70s, so you know why i can tell little of this story. After the demolition, we moved to Ikoyi, then mainland, then Badagry, then Abuja. But all my schooling was in Lagos, and i lived practically all my life in Lagos, briefly in Zamfara and Abuja before relocation outside Nigeria over 10 years ago.
When I tell my friends that we cannot live in Lekki and complain about Nigerian economy and Nigeria being hard, they will say, " yen yen yen....here are people among us, living right under our noses and still finding something to smile about. Not a single one of them complained despite living in worse conditions than most of us. We drive by them each day on the 3rd Mainland bridge while we complain about traffic in our aircondition cars. God bless Shanks. May it be well with you your entire life.
Someone will always be in a worse situation than you, gratitude does not mean being content in mediocrity. If people complain about traffic, so what? There are people complaining about private jet issue.
I smiled, cried, laughed...this is a lot really....I might not be able to do this but I sincerely appreciate people who do...Shanks deep down I knew it wasn't easy to stay there for 3 days but thank you so much.
God I can’t stop crying while watching diz , wen u thought ur situation is worst , watching diz I can’t help buh thank God for d gift of life and where I am
This should be part of a documentary video on MAKOKO (the biggest slum in Africa) on Netflix ❤️❤️ There's love here, I can feel it. Thank you shanks for showing me this part of Nigeria ❤
Makoko is not the biggest slum in Africa. Makoko is the biggest slum in Nigeria with over 300,000 people. The front part is dominated by the egun people who migrated from Republic of benin for their fishing livelihood. The largest slum in Africa is situated in khayelitsha, cape town, south Africa with over 400,000 people although most people argue its kibera, nairobi, kenya cause the population is over 700,000. So please people in the comments educate yourselves before you comment. I see false comments that makoko has 21 million people when the population of the whole of lagos state is 16,536,000 million people.
It is called the biggest floating slum i. Africa, not the biggest slum, if it was about the biggest slums there are places like AJ city, mushin in lagos here that coukd rival makoko probably @sarahreviewsinasmr
Omo I cried when I saw that stuff the boy wrote his name on Guy shanks I love uuuuuu Keep doing great Hun U keep blessing people directly or indirectly Keep going bro I love u
I don’t even know what to type shanks cause na person you be…I have always loved you and I know you’ve got that kindness in you…God bless you for making these people happy and for showing their hardship to the world 🌎 Bless you man ❤ Keep up the good work
As son of the slum, this warmth my heart. There's true love and happiness in the underprivileged environment hidden under the many challenges. If only our corrupt politicians could used the resources rightly, Makoko can be turned into a beautiful floating city. With $2 billion dollars,it can be tranformed into something breath taking. I love you all in Makoko. From a humble son of a slum in Liberia.
I was really touched by your words, when you paid for that woman at the clinic and you told the nurses to make her feel as if it was the husband that paid. God bless you.
This is so beautiful.... Please let's give it up for the editor abeg ..did an amazing work geez.... Shank great adventure, putting smile on people's faces..God will definitely reward you...my favorite part is the when the guy brought a banner that had your name on it and you posed with it and the guy that was praying weird prayers 😂😂....My first time here ...🎉
this is beautiful..especially when they sang the nation’s anthem..i pray nigeria believes in them, they way they believe in the nation..may the land favor them..Lord i pray these kids grow to become wonderful and amazing asset to the nation and the world at large..God bless you shank..God bless you immensely dear..
The smile you brought on those peoples faces and the joy they exhumed brought me to tears. I have been following your skits but this is so heart touching. God continue to bless you and make you great. Thank you for putting Makoko in the eyes of the world.
Omo u are the best content creator ajeh the love u shared was real and everything about u is genuine u made them happy by gifting and showing them love ,the part that made me feel emotional was the part that u helped that woman to pay her womb cleaning and the word u said was so thoughtful and it shows that naturally u are a philanthropist,u said they shouldn't tell u that u are the one that paid and let her feel that it was her husband that Paid ,how I wish to see the expression of the husband when he gets back from work and hear that someone has paid the money already 😢chai I just pray our rich men will imitate this your generousity and help our citizens in this hard time ☺️
I love how he challenged the nurse who was trying to take advantage of a broken woman’s pain. Nigerians are highly religious yet have no qualms exploiting each other when the opportunity arises. I hope he said more to her so she’d see the error of her ways. Never watched Shank before but I’m grateful for this popping up. He’s a very likeable guy.
I no dey subscribe to RU-vid channels o…. But you see after watching this I just had to sign in to RU-vid n subscribe cos omoooo…. I was touched…. God bless you shanks
