I went deep into the woods in northern Ontario to help my buddy James build his off-grid cabin with the lumber harvested from his property. Checkout @wildhomestead for more! IG @XanderBudnick
GOOD SER BUDNICK, IT WAS AN HONOUR AND A PRIVILEGE TO HAVE YOU OUT HELPING ME BUILD, YOU ARE INDUSTRIOUS, FRIENDLY, AND HIGHLY SKILLED. YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME BACK ANYTIME. BUT PLEASE WORK ON YOUR HANDSHAKE/GOODBYE SKILLS THAT WAS THE MOST AWKWARD MOMENT OF MY LIFE AT THE END THERE, THANK YOU!
Super awesome of you to spend time with James helping out, we've been following his journey from the start and admire how he is building his dream. It would be great to see you go back when you can, plus you can check on how Xanders Cedar is growing 😊
As a forester and an arborist, I really appreciate the PSA regarding thinning of a timber stand. It really is necessary to do this. This was a really cool concept vid, Xander. Lotsa fun all around!! Thank you sir! NQU
Say you've been in the bush too long without human contact without saying you've been in the bush too long without human contact lmao, dude actually made Xander look like the calm one 😂😂 love it
James and Your brother are probably the best people you collab with. Great guys, are not trying hard to be something they are not. oh yeah, and your dad. love your videos, Happy Moose Milking
Cool inside take on the cutting and assembly of log cabin. Its surprising how few people get the positive effect of selective harvesting in a densely packed woods. Loved the humor throughout James's is a card and, end was solid gold! Happy trails Z!
4:33 pliers and a bushcraft knife - tell me you're single without telling me you're single :P Just kidding you. That drawknife is a thing of beauty. Looks like an awesome cabin with an incredible view in a beautiful area. Well done and good luck! Xander, you're a good friend.
Lovely job xander James is doing a great build quite a funny guy was good of you to help and to have some fun mixed in loved the ending hahaha good food great friends makes it all worthwhile take care and have a great day 👍👌⛺️⛺️🔥🔥❤️
Your friend reminds me of Chris Pratt. Normally I'm against cutting down trees, but that's a nice thick forest and the selective cutting he is doing will be good for the understory to renew itself as well. thanks for sharing. I'll be checking out his channel to see what he's up to. Stay safe and healthy!
"Something is rotten in the state of Denmark, and my Denmark i mean my lower intestine" 11:16 that part got me lol. Ofc everyone knows that maple syrup comes from moose. Again, this video made me so happy, you gotta revisit James sometime.
Are you okay Xander? I felt that you.... aren't feeling the greatest at the time of filming this. I could be wrong. Either way, thank you for your Video, love them very much. They are my Therapy💯 Be safe and remember, the Sun always comes out again after a Storm. I really need to try some of that AG1 that I often see on your Videos. Especially as I come from New Zealand. Anyway, all the best.
This is my favourite channel. I especially like it when you explain everything so nicely. I wish you a lot of success with the channel and happy life.❤
not sure why an explanation is needed to satisfy some thought process people have - that cant be changed anyway..? keep up the great work man... it is real and honest, no explanations needed..!
@@jeremiahallyn4603 Wow thats amazing to me. Thank you. Ive only seen snow twice in my life. This is why i watch Zander. The snow looks great to me. Yesterday we had the hottest day this Summer. 39 degrees. Not sure what the conversion is? But its real bloody hot.😅 Edit; 102F. 😰😱
I've never seen a tree slide off of its trunk like the one at 9:30 in this clip. felling trees is dangerous enough at any time but in all that snow even more so. It was nice to see you guys working together. I enjoy both of your sights. keep on enjoying life Xander and thanks again for sharing it with us.
I have watched James and had no idea you two knew each other. Xander you rock. I love your videos and how you care about your friends. The hanks for an awesome video!!
It's my dream to build a cabin in the middle of nowhere. One day ❤"A prayer for the wild at heart" -- stay safe mate The ending 😂😂 love your friend group
Epic video your friend has the same energy as you and likes to joke nothing better than good hard work the cabin is going to e epic , Hope to see you back here love to see the finished project.
Out west, they are already getting smoky areas, preparing trees taking branches off so they don't get fire burn, back east, have another 6 weeks of weather.
I was inspired by a few months back and have now bought a nice 04 Toyota 4Runner and tried to have my dad weld a spare key to a screwdriver haha hoping that goes well
I'm impressed. I've helped my friends with numerous projects such as brake jobs, moving, even driving someone 200 miles because he was too cheap to fly out of a closer but more expensive airport. But I have never gone into the middle of nowhere to help them build a log cabin. You are a great friend. Kudos.
Hey, we met a friend as crazy as Xander! 😂 Very cool video. 👍 And if anyone complains about thinning out a forest, tell them to shove it. Then tell them to read the book, How to Read a Tree. 🤗
Cool thing for you to help a friend in need. I built a 15 x 15 log cabin in Wyoming near Tensleep. Had to have help placing logs, but after that I was on my own. I gathered stones from the side of the mountain for the Foundation and gathered sand for the concrete from riversides. I love pealing logs! The cabin turned out awesome! I hope his cabin will be awesome for him. You're a good buddy. Luv from Colo. (:
