As an ex pizza delivery driver I can confirm that it’s one of the sketchiest jobs. I’ve delivered to some creepy houses and have heard similar stories from my coworkers. Always bring a flashlight, a taser if possible, and I always use to make sure the person answered the phone before walking to their door. If they didn’t then I called the restaurant and told them they weren’t answering usually that worked.

This is an experience that I’ll never forget. One time when I was doing an Uber Eats route one Saturday night. I got a request from a guy named Kyle. It was a small order, he only wanted two hamburgers. His address was only about 3 minutes away. But by the time I arrived at his house, the McDonald’s hamburgers I had ordered had turned into a pizza. Needless to say, that was my last night working for Uber. And I still get chills about it today.

Okay, I'm confused, he picked up cheeseburgers at McDonald's but he dropped off pizza?

This is a story that happened to me when i was 19 back in the summer of 2018. I took my first job delivering part time for a local pizza place. Honestly looking back it was a pretty alright place to work with unusually good pay and a decent boss so i thought that i'd stay there for a year or so before moving on but i only ended up being in that job for 2 months. This took place on the first and only time i did a night shift delivery. I can still remember the order being 2 pepperoni pizzas with 2 large fries and 2 cans of Pepsi. The order was for a house around 9 miles away and it was 9:30 on a Wednesday night. I arrived a little later than i intended because of traffic so i hoped that i wouldn't get any abuse for taking a long time. The house was a 2 storey house that you could tell was owned by a very posh person or family. The grass looked like it hadn't been cut for months and there was no lights on in the house but there was 1 car parked in the driveway so i thought that maybe they'd given up on the order arriving and had gone to bed. As i walked up to the front door i could see a large piece of paper that had been taped on to the door pretty quickly. It said in all caps HEY YA PIZZA DELIEVER SORRY WE CAN'T SEE YOU PERSONALLY AS WE HAVE GONE OUT FOR THE NIGHT. LEAVE THE PIZZAS IN THE BASEMENT WHERE THERE WILL BE YOUR PAYMENT AND A SMALL TIP. When i finished reading the note i whispered to myself "bullshit" as the car in the driveway confirmed there was at least someone in the house so i knew already something was wrong. No fuckin way was i going in that house let alone to the basement. I very quietly put the pizzas down in front of the door and considered just leaving right then and there as part of me didn't wanna let whoever was in the house know i was there but i ended up ringing the doorbell anyway as i certainly did not want to go back and explain why i had no payment with me. I waited there for about 15 to 20 seconds with no response from inside the house. I started slowly backing away from the house and as i did so the light in the right room on the ground floor suddenly came on. I sprinted back to my car almost shitting myself. I was opening the door to my car when the car that was parked in the driveway suddenly turned on the headlights and the drivers side door opened. I managed to get back in my car and lock the doors about 3 seconds before a group of 3 young men started battering my doors and tried to break my windows. I floored it down the street and stopped at the turn i was meant to go down. I looked back and saw the men go inside the house. Why they didn't come after me i will never know and will forever be thankful that they did not. I never drove so fast back to the pizza place. I told my boss what had happened and quit the job on the same night. I never went anywhere near that house or that part of town again.

Story one has more holes in the plot than fast and the furious has sequels. He gets a McDonald’s order, but than is now delivering pizza and placing it in the kitchen counter? At the end he calls himself a pizza delivery guy/boy, but in the beginning he was an Uber Eats driver.. “This one was a fabrication of our imagination… we were making it up- this is a work of pure fiction”

These stories were quite disappointing, especially the last one. There's no way you don't follow up with police and prosecute someone after they lured you into a trap and stalked you back to your job/house.

Tips from a former delivery driver: - If the house doesn't have lights on (night), or looks unkempt, don't go up to it. Call from inside your car to see if they are there and have them meet you outside. - Do not go inside. I don't care if there is a tip coming, I don't care if they seem harmless or disabled, you don't go in. - Carry a max of $15 in change at most, and let it be known. They ordered a $20 pizza and want change for a hundred? No, I only carry a little, sorry. - They take the food from you without paying? Don't bother fighting, it's not worth it. - Leave your location turned on, in case of God forbid you need found. Personal experience: Pulled up to a group of men around a massive fire in the woodlands. They waved and said be right there. I stayed in my car and looked around. The fire made it so I could only see outlines of them, but I saw signs of devil worship on the nearby shed. A man approached and I asked how his night was going. He said, "Better now." Nope. Handed him the stack of pizzas out of my car window and left. Tip be damned.

Customers story: I ordered McDonald's and waited. A strange car stopped in front of my house and I opened the door thinking it was my food. But, on seeing, that the driver had pizza I sensed something was wrong. With a growing nervousness I retreated into my house, but before I could close the door he followed me in. With a growing sense of panic I retreated up the stairs to my bedroom. My feeling of horror increased when I saw that he was following me up the stairs. I knew no normal delivery guy would ever do this. Certain now that I was in great danger I looked around for something to throw at this maniacal intruder. Not finding anything to hand I ripped my arm off and threw it at him. He fled immediately and I called the cops with my remaining arm.
