Hey I discovered your podcast through searching 'rc' in Spotify. As a 35 y.o. getting into the hobby for the first time I really appreciate it, the candidness and flow of your podcast is great, you have the radio skills. Keep putting out new content, I will watch/listen to it. I ordered the C10 because of you. Axial please pay this man!
A set of tweezers, works a lot better Tony, tip of the day !!, got out yesterday first time , with my 1/24 C10, these little trucks are awesome, but I need a bigger eyeballs, I got to get a set of hex tools for mine. Man those screws are tiny. Appreciate you sharing,
I really like my scx24. It’s been transformed into an old skool ford monster truck with huge Firestones. Blew the motor this week and need to upgrade Servo but adding rear steering soon!
Do all scx24 have same wheel weight sizes? Interchangeable? Im asking coz I have a b17 betty and the part codes for wheel weights are different then other models. Thanks.
To anyone buying those Hot Racing shocks you should definitely swap the softer springs on them right away. i bought them for my Deadbolt and the silver ones (firmer) were way too hard for such a small rig. Swapped to the softer ones and it was just right.
Is it necessary to upgrade motor and servo if adding all the weight? So far i just have brass wheel weights, diff covers are waiting for servo upgrade first , do you think thats a good idea?
Awesome video, I just got back into rc and ordered the white scx24 jeep, I'm just waiting for delivery. I wish we had the number of hobby shops here in canada like in the states.
I am thinking you should have done that drop test without the added weights, might have seen a better difference in the shock upgrade. Great videos man, keep 'em up! Is the SCX24 your favourite indoor micro crawler for the $$?
Great suggestion. The drop test was an afterthought. I just wanted to see how it did. Realistically, they shouldn't fall that far and the test is irrelevant. The lift/tap test is better, but still hard to say because of the added weight. Overall it handles better. Do need to upgrade my servo to handle that added weight. Also want the smaller C10 tires for this one. Don't like these tires as much.
I just bought an scx24 recently, is it normal that you cant tighten the wheel nuts? if I tighten mine down at all the truck won't move it binds up which in turn will burn the motor up. I literally have to have them so loose that eventually the nuts just completely unscrew after a few minutes of driving. I've tried stock hexes brass hexes etc etc no matter what if I tighten down enough to actually hold the wheel on it starts to bind the drivetrain?? Any help wld be appreciated.
That doesn't sound normal. I haven't had that issue with any of mine. I don't tighten them crazy hard, but do snug them up. Never have lost a wheel not or had binding.
Thanks for the video, just bought a bunch of parts following your recommendation! I was wondering why do you need such a heavy wt shock oil for these shocks? Most people say to run 20-50wt, 3000cst is like 240wt isn’t it?
yes it's extremely heavy wt but the reason for it is because these shocks like most all scx24 shocks leak. so the thicker the oil the less likely for leaks. in reality your not really even filling them with shock oil it's more like your simply lubricating them more than anything... 👍🏼
There is a 100 turn motor upgrade that some people are doing. Here is a link to a video where the guy does the upgrade and shows the part number of a place he gets it for 8 bucks as opposed to 15 or something. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pDOLIWPdRos.html
I tried to move the wires, but it seemed like it put the connection under too much stress if the wires were moved enough for 100% clearance. Quick fix was just to limit the steering. A LOT. Does the wiring connection handle the stress of permanently moving the wires out of the way, for those that have done this?
Haha. I don't think so. Not knowingly at least. I've had these upgrades for months and just now had the time do them. Partly spurred on by a trip later that day to our new track that has a Micro course.
@@aubreybutler5217 I got mine 2 weeks ago from Horizon Hobby. They have 2 of the 3 trucks in stock. I ordered from HH through Amazon...got them both in 2 days.
Too late! Plus this is nothing compared to what happens to them when my boys drive and they fall 3 feet from the Micro Crawler table at the local track 😬
