Charlie, I think you are a really committed health provider, have really listened to your clients in the past and have been prepared to innovate and not just ‘go along’ with what has always been recommended. This is not ‘just a job ‘ for you. People waste so much money for conventional treatments that in many cases do no good and in some cases do harm. Thank you for your sincerity. Thank you for your freebies and I hope you are rewarded and your business does well.

This process worked for me. I watched and took notes. Found my ‘yucky’ motion and did as instructed and retested. The previously ‘yucky’ motion no longer hurt! Found my ‘medicine’ exercise! I thought I had a sciatic nerve only issue but it is my back that is causing the nerve to pinch. Thank you so much!!! X

Heya, you're the best doctor I've found on this platform when it comes to sciatica problems and I would like to have your opinion on my situation. So i got a l5/4 herniated disc from a failed deadlift last christmas and got sciatica pain on my right leg which made sense because the disc's jelly stuff was on the right side. I started doing cobras and pushes because thats what everyone said and after 2 weeks the pain shifted from my right leg to my left leg. As of now, my right leg is almost completely back to normal besides being a little stiff but no pain at all, while my left leg is still very painful, very stiff and I can't make it straight all the way when i try to do a leg raise seated, lying down or standing up (well i can do it standing up but very much painful), even when i straighten my right leg and raise it i feel pain in the left leg, which has always been very odd to me. Funnily enough when I do the leg raise or leg floss you showed at the end of the video on my right leg, the pain on the left leg starts going away, but when i do it with my left leg it gets worst. Hanging/decompressing sometimes makes it better, sometimes worst and sometimes nothing changes, I'm not sure if it's because of my position or not. It's been 8 long months, the pain is driving me into insanity so please tell me things I could try or even how severe you think my disc herniation/sciatica is, I don't care if it's good or bad news anymore just tell me anything.

Hi Dr. Charlie, I like your method of deduction in identifying which of the hundreds of available methods will work on your pain. Testing which is "yummy" for your pain, I think, is beter tthan saying that this will work immediately on you, but actually is not suitable. A lot of expert believes this is the correct way of solving your issues (as Dr. Mcgill mentioned that not all his methods work and everyone is different). Thanks for your help and keep up the good work.

Hey Dr Johnson, thank you for your lovely informative videos! (Been a subscriber for several months now) Do you also have videos on gluteal tendinitis? Mine has most likely has triggered by a viral (c***d) infection. I have been ultrasound-diagnosed with edema around the hip joint at the Glut. Med, Glut Min, and Piriformis muscles, which prevented me from walking for several months. Things are getting better and now I can walk but there is still some edema, which has finally come out of the pelvis onto the outer side of my leg up, a bit under the joint). Maybe this edema still creates trouble when I walk longer than 1-2-3 km at a time. Would you recommend I do exercise and which ones or else, I wait for the edema (inflammation) to completely go away? Doctors also suspect L4 nerve issues as second diagnosis as sometimes my leg under my knee gets this "strangling" feeling which also prevents me from walking. Thank you wholeheartedly P.S. The third exercise made things better for me btw. At the testing stage, the second movement was my yuky movement.

What you need to do is be patient and work on the ones he tells you to because I did it and I noticed that the side that was bothering me after doing the 30 seconds each improved and it doesn't feel bad

So I have been trying to learn about this stuff because early this summer, my hip ( so I thought) was becoming painful only when I walked. I can go about a half city block and it began to hurt. Shortly after, it started going down my whole leg. Now I can barely walk w/o pain in that leg. I do not have back pain, when I do your leg tests, no pain. Only when I walk. Starts in the hip and goes down. Any suggestions? Please help, I do not want to go to the doctor. Thanks for any advice you can give me!!!

@@johnmoep6761 hey! Thanks for watching! If symptoms are going down the whole leg- you’re right, probably not a hip issues… likely spinal related (some spine issues are sensitive to walking- but cause no back pain). Happy to see if/how I can help, but I would need some more details here to confirm either way. Would you be open to me reviewing your case personally? If so, just visit www.drcharliejohnsonpt.com/apply - select a time to chat, then follow instructions to submit a formal Case Review. Sound good? Thanks for watching and hang in there. Is there anything as to help, regarding a pinched nerve, that goes from the shoulder blade, down to your fingers? Thank you for your time😊

On the leg extension when I extended the leg on the painful side of my back I felt no discomfort, but when I extended my leg on the non painful side the painful side of my inner thigh felt like it was cramping. What the heck does that mean? Now I’m really confused.
@drcharliejohnson
@drcharliejohnson 3 месяца назад
Hey Joe! could have been a fluke...I'd be curious as to how consistently reproducible this is. Occasionally extending the non painful leg (or leg on painfree side) WILL reproduce pain on the bad leg... this is called a crossed straight leg raise and is highly diagnostic of disc pathology. Given what you've shared, this does not sound like a classic crossed straight leg raise sign. If you're interested in some help- just let me know- I'd be happy to review your case and see how we can sort this out.

What do I do if I have 2 disc bulges (so can't bend forward it makes It worse ) but arching backwards /cobra pose - pinches my nerve and my leg goes numb and then I have pain in my hip. Forward makes my lower back hurts. (Not right away but pain emerged later for both)

I felt like you made this video just for me 🥹 I have sciatica nerve pain and ordered the Back2Life two weeks ago (thinking it could be a back issue affecting everything downstream), but after I used the Back2Life for 12 minutes I felt intense pressure on my lower back.. it made my sciatica nerve pain even worse. A friend recommended this machine because he had sciatica and a bulging disc. He used it daily for 6 consecutive months. For some reason, after using the machine just once, it made the sciatica worse and started to have intense lower back pain which I never had.. what are your thoughts?

What if the leg raise is terrible on both sides? :( Not sure what to do when pain is really bad
@avag1424

Forgive me, but am confused by the three tests you showed at beginning of this vid, as you seemingly followed up with exercises to try for just the third test? What if I tested pain in the first example you showed standing, and twisting backwards? Should I also follow the test exercises you suggest in the end of this vid?

I can raise my leg just fine, but can't drive as pain radiates up from foot. I was told i have a pinched nerve at S1 and L5.

Linguistics, acrobatics, and semantics? Honestly have no clue what you're referring to here. Are you suggesting I show people exercises without sharing the step-by-step process to help people identify even if it makes sense for them?
